Description of Work: They fixed the broken torsion spring at my garage door and added strenght to the doors. They came quickly over and took care of it in a professionalism matter. To my surprise even greased and optimized the door.

Description of Work: When I had trouble with another company, I called Overhead Door. They were very professional and were able to make an appointment for the next Monday. The installer was there on time and went right to work. Within 45 minutes I had a garage door opener.

Description of Work: Replaced main spring on wide garage door. Very happy overall, except I had to rush to remove 2 nice cars from the garage (tech was going to "work around" them), and I had to wipe excess lubrication from the rails/hinges myself to keep from dripping on the cars.

Description of Work: I had an old garage door opener with a broken sensor. Since the unit was old, the sensors could not be replaced and I had to purchase a new unit. Overhead Door was able to come out the very next day and replace it within about an hour. The door glides smoother and quieter than ever.

+ -1 moreJosh showed up right on time and it only took him 30 seconds to decide that my spring was fine and there was no need to replace it. There was no charge. Very friendly and professionsal. Good to see there's still some honest folks out there.
Description of Work: I recently purchased a new garage door opener and the Sears installer told me that my spring was bad and that he could replace it for $300. I decided to hold off for a while and I called "Overhead Door Co of North Alabama" about a month later.

+ -1 moreThey recommended that the seals did not need to be replaced. They did the whole oiling of all of the door parts and also some adjustments. The doors were too noisy. I thought perhaps it was time to change out the seals as well. They could have made more money, but they told me that they didn't need to be done. I thought they were very good and honest. They even told me how much it would be to replace the seals. They were there the day that I called them or the next day.
Description of Work: I used Overhead Door to do a check of the garage door to see if the seals needed to be replaced.

+ -1 moreOn the morning on November 11th, I called to get an estimate for my garage door than when bending when the automatic opening closed door. That afternoon a service technician named Wendell arrived to give and estimate and had an idea of how it might work, for an estimate of $79 he could try it. He took the metal support from the third panel down and used it in place of the bent support on the top panel. It was approximately an hour of work and I have a working garage door again.
Description of Work: Took a non-functioning garage door and with several adjustments it is now functioning.

Description of Work: Overhead Door of North Alabama installed a new garage door shortly after we bought our home. + -1 moreSpring broke on garage door and couldn't get door open with cars trapped inside garage. Called Overhead Door and left message on voicemail at 7:00 a.m. on 6/8/2010. They called back within 30 minutes and said they would put us on the schedule for a technician to come out. Don't know name of lady I talked to, but she was very nice and professional. She asked several questions as to what kind of garage door it was, whether it had windows or insulation and whether it was metal or wooden. Technican called at around 1:00 p.m. to say he was in Huntsville and would be at the house within 30 minutes. He arrived and replaced the broken spring and was on his way within 30 minutes. My wife was at the house and didn't get the technician's name, but said he was courteous and professional. We were very pleased with the service we received.
Description of Work: Serviced 16x7 Amarr door with lift master operator. Replaced one torsion spring on door.

They showed up when they were supposed to and were knowledgeable as well. They were the ones that had originally installed the door when the house was built. They have been around here for a long time. I would use them in the future, if necessary.

+ -1 moreA vertical metal beam supporting a section of our garage door broke off. I called Overhead door company on Friday afternoon after 5pm. They were closed, but answered the phone cheerfully and made me an appointment for Monday. On Monday, the serviceman came out and looked at my garage door. He said that he thought he could fix the metal beam so that we didn't have to buy a whole new garage door section. After completing that task, I asked him if he could also look at our garage door opener. It had been acting up - causing the garage door to bounce back up and not remain closed. He said that a new garage door opener would cost $350, but he could replace the gears for approx $150. I asked him how much the cost was for fixing the garage door and he said that he would include that for free - doing it all for $150. He went ahead to repair the garage door opener and made it like new again. The serviceman went above and beyond to provide me exceptional service and save me money.
Description of Work: Fixed broken section of garage door. Repaired gears in garage door opener.
