Other reviewers described Bobby as unprofessional and an amateur landscaper. We couldn't agree more, except to add he's arrogant, defensive, irresponsible and difficult to deal with. When we originally met with Bobby in fall, 2021, we knew exactly what we wanted done and how we wanted it to look. We walked the entire yard with him, marking where we wanted the landscaping to begin and end. Bobby wanted to design his own landscape plan for us which was not what we had envisioned. After some pushback, he finally delivered much of what we wanted in May, 2022. However, it was not without issues. We asked him specifically not to park his vehicles in a manner that would block the mailbox area belonging to us and two other neighbors. He purposely encroached on the area and antagonized one of the neighbors, causing the police to be summoned. During his work, he cracked our concrete driveway, damaged the sump pump discharge cover and left gaping holes in the siding where the newly installed stairs meet the house. He acknowledged damaging the driveway, took pictures and said he would arrange for the repair. He also said he'd return to repair the sump pump discharge. In July, I emailed him to follow up on the repairs and he replied he thought he had until the end of the year to make them, but he'd have it done by the first frost. We fixed the damage to the siding ourselves. However, after still no word on the damaged driveway, we followed up with several emails and phone calls that went unanswered. We finally reached him on October 12 to which he responded he had no idea how to repair the driveway. We told him he's being held responsible for the repairs. We are now in the process of arranging for whatever might be necessary to fix the damaged driveway and will seek legal remedies to recoup our losses.

We did a major overhaul of our rock landscaping and replacing some old shrubs. Before and after pictures of the good, the bad and the ugly landscaping experience we had this summer. We DO NOT recommend Bobby Reise of Stone Edge Landscaping. He was unprofessional and an amateur at landscaping at best. He is the owner, the bider and the labor with a couple labor helpers. During the bidding process he sold us on how he would take care not to tear up the lawn by putting down plywood. This did not happen. He told us he could remove the tree stump and he would call diggers hotline for the project neither of these things happened. He had said he would come over so we could review the project before he started since he did the bid back in February. He didn’t make time for it. I sent him 7 videos explaining to make sure we were on the same page with everything. He admitted he never watched them. He didn’t review his own bid before he started work. We were replacing some flowers and shrubs and keeping others. He just starting hacking away at everything. We had some mature grasses and hostas that were beautiful and we asked if he could just divide them and reuse them. He did divide the grasses but they look pretty dead now. He completely tossed the perfectly good hostas and started us with tiny saplings that look really sad. From the beginning of the bidding process we told him we had critter issues getting into our garden and he suggested replacing the RR ties with brick which never crossed my mind. We trusted that he was a professional and knew what he was doing. We even bought small wire fencing to install at the bottom of the garden to keep out critters. Well I didn’t realize that retaining wall brick that he used can’t make the corners square. Another landscaper said he could have cut them if he cared about his work. So there are gaping holes that critters can get right through. He said well they (the critters) will have to put a lot of pressure to get thru. Chipmunks dug right though 24 hours after he finished. Plus it was unlevel and crooked after his 1st attempt and had to have him fix it, but we still have the holes in the corners. We had a fire pit that was to be redone with the same new rock just replacing what was there. It’s a buried tractor wheel. Wheels are a circle, he made the landscaping oblong and bigger than we wanted. His response was, “it doesn’t look that bad.” We had several conversations over the few days he was there explaining he wasn’t doing what we wanted and to fix it. He just plain didn’t listen. We ended up doing the fire pit part ourselves because he just didn’t understand “same size and a circle.” Another part he sold us on was a beautiful picture rock scape of a culvert on the sides of our driveway. The picture looks beautiful with nice decorative rock and I got just basic industrial charcoal and it’s crooked. During the process when we had conversations that he wasn’t doing what we wanted he actually told my husband we are the worst customers he has ever had. Rock star customer service… Not! Several people said I shouldn’t have paid him. He already had $15k for the total job of over $30k. And there is more I could add about the mounded rock that is falling into the grass after one rain fall. I pointed this out to him because it’s just so obvious with this thing called gravity that the rock was going to fall easily with the interlocking edging (his professional suggestion) at the grass level nothing to stop it and he’s like “well it’s rock it SHOULD stay”. Just sick about this experience.

Bobby did a great job. He knew what he was doing, he had an eye for what needed to be done on our property and he did it safely, very well and on time. He showed up when he said he would, he was polite and listened to us. And his pricing was fair. We were very happy.
