I sincerely hope no one has to endure what Dr. Karen Konz put my close friend through last week with her [now deceased] cat, Angus. Not only did Dr. Konz deliver the news that my friend’s beloved 7 year old cat was dying, while LAUGHING, she did not offer to provide any palliative care or euthanasia. She just sent them home with hydration packets (and a 300$ bill of course). This forced my friend to helplessly watch as her cat died in her car while she was trying desperately to drive him to a different clinic. Prior to his death, he was being treated for undiagnosed GI issues by Dr. Konz for a month. My friend was constantly stressed by the lack of urgency Dr. Konz showed in providing diagnostic treatment and offering solutions for his care. In addition to the lack of urgency in diagnosing his progressing illness, Dr. Konz gave conflicting information on measures that could be taken to diagnose the illness. This led to precious time (and money on repeated fruitless appointments) being wasted in the weeks preceding his death. My friend was told initially that an ultrasound was needed at a clinic much farther away in order to diagnose him. After having to wait longer than should be necessary to get an appointment for the ultrasound, the ultrasound tech NO-SHOWED the appointment that my friend drove an hour to get to. She had to leave this appointment with her sick cat -and still no answers -and again postpone life saving care to her cat and go through the hassle of attempting to schedule another ultrasound while time was running out. Come to find out, the whole time she was struggling with trying to book him an ultrasound at this other location, Dr. Konz could have just done an X-ray in her own clinic! Thank you for sharing this information once it was too late to help him, Dr. Konz; what a cruel joke. It makes me sick to think how much precious time was wasted in his last weeks of life due to Dr. Konz’s negligence. Since his illness was never diagnosed, my friend will never know if his early death could have been prevented and is wracked with guilt and grief at his needless extended suffering and the financial burden that these visits incurred. Dr. Konz should do some major introspection on how she was able to laugh in the face of someone distraught over the health of their cat that they loved. How, as a vet, can you deny care to a suffering animal- in your care- while charging the owner 300$ just to tell her the cat is dying and send them home with some useless saline packets? If you have any sort of conscience, Dr. Konz, you would reach out to her and reverse the charges for that appointment and send an apology for your disgusting behavior. My wonderful friend and her sweet cat did not deserve to go through that.

This vet is very smart and has a great staff. It's not cheap to provide your pet with top-notch care, but you'll get top notch care here. My ONLY complaint is that I wish there were some way to get on a rotation of vaccinations that would get them all done at once, so I could avoid the office visit fee. They do offer a tech-only appointment once in awhile, which is a big help. Probably saves $50 a visit. Generally, I like everyone from the receptionist to the techs to the Dr herself. Everybody is very good.

They are very, very, very informative. It is like a small family and it doesn't feel like a business. I would strongly recommend them. I had only been there once or twice before and they remembered my dog's name and my son's name. They remembered where we lived. They are very thoughtful and considerate people that work there.
