"We apologize for this customer's dissatisfaction with our service and professionalism. At first we were very perplexed by this review. This customer's fireplaces were installed 15 - 20 years ago and the last time we serviced them was 2013. Additionally, our records show that all of the issues we worked on were fixed or determined not to be the fireplace. After checking our records and last two years schedule to verify this, we called to ask her what service she was referring to. She said that it wasn't a particular service but an overall review for the last 20 years. During our conversation, the issues she mentioned were: She was limited by space as to which fireplaces she could put in and knew they weren't the quality she wanted. She overheard our installer's discussing this and didn't appreciate hearing it. We sincerely apologize for any negative impression she may have gotten from what she overheard. While the fireplaces she purchased weren't top of the line, they are far from builder grade and were from two very reputable manufacturers. She wanted a remote and says we quoted her $400.00 and she was able to get one for $90.00. We believe she was quoted the complete price for the remote and installation. When possible, we only use parts from the original manufacturers. These are quite a bit more expensive than their generic counterparts, but also a lot more reliable. She said she had a gas leak caused by us. There was a gas leak reported in 2012. Our records don't show the cause, but that we immediately addressed and fixed it. She said we were unable to fix one of her fireplaces. Our records show that the only time we were unable to “fix” her fireplace, was in 2010. In this case, it's turning off was directly related to her furnace coming on. It was not a failure of the fireplace and there was nothing to fix. We are not HVAC technicians and are unable to work on furnace systems. Again, we are truly sorry and apologize for any inconvenience, unprofessional conduct, or frustration she experienced during her 17 year association with us and our products."
We felt good about buying from them and would recommend them to our friends.
When I called they worked me in right away (despite the busy season) because I was an Angie's customer. I was given an arrival window of 8am - 11am, but Lewis showed up at exactly 8 o'clock! He was extremely careful about keeping my carpet clean, using covered shoes when walking in and spreading out a large tarp for his work. My fireplace is about 15 yrs old and had never been serviced, so it was filthy and the pilot light was no longer working. He showed me the broken parts and explained the issue before repairing it. He also showed me how he turned the pilot light back on under the fireplace. Finally he checked the vent outside because I'd had problems with wind blowing out the pilot light before it broke. Since then the fireplace has worked perfectly and is putting out a lot more heat.
I highly recommend Bellevue Fireplace Shop for fireplace services. I was totally satisfied by the entire experience.
I used Bellevue Fireplace Shop earlier this year. I don't know if I wrote a review for the prompt and professionally performed service they performed at that time. I certainly was pleased with the service I received then.
I normally left my pilot light on, since I don't feel comfortable to manipulate natural gas control knobs. When it got quite hot in this year's mid-summer, I turned off the pilot light in order to eliminate the extra heat caused by the pilot light.
Now that we get cool mornings, I decided it is time turn the pilot light back on. Being unsure of my safety if I turn the knob from off to on, I called Bellevue Fireplace Shop asking for help. The gentleman on the phone suggested that I could come to the store and he would show me how the knobs and pilot light igniter work. After I told him that I had a medical problem which made it inconvenient for me to leave the house right now, he decided to work with me over the phone.
I was impressed with the gentleman's instructions over the phone. I now feel that I received the training I needed which helped me to overcome my gas-knob-phobia. After the instructions I got off the phone and managed to turn on my pilot light. I was elated and called back to thank the gentleman at Bellevue Fireplace Shop. I promised to report his help with a review on Angie's List.
I always prefer to deal with people who are knowledgeable in their product rather than to deal with people who are jacks of all trades and masters of none. For this reason I will remain a satisfied customer of Bellevue Fireplace Shop!
