Excellent service from initial contact to project completion. I highly recommend Hydro-Tech. We have worked with several irrigation companies over the last 15 years and this has been by far the best experience. Very professional yet reasonably priced. The sales office scheduled an estimator promptly, we were given an exact figure after a short meeting, and the crew arrived on time on the installation day. The crew was very considerate throughout the installation and nice enough to stay slightly late to accommodate my schedule. They were very careful to work around our cable and utility lines and all of our landscaping was put back in place and looked undisturbed when they left. I was given a full review of the programming schedule and we tested all the sprinkler heads. A+ service, thank you, Hydro-Tech.

Long story...but short summary: the techs who serviced my irrigation system on April 23, 2016, did succeed in getting it activated, but it was the 3rd service call required to activate the system (the first of which I had pre-paid the previous fall), and Hydro-Tech attempted to charge us for all 3 service calls. Total scam. (I am sparing the details here, but can be found on my lengthy YELP review.) But worthy of particular reiteration is my review of Hydro-Tech's "service manager," Michael Dawson, the rudest service- provider I ever encountered in 66 years of life...vulgar and abusive...genuinely jaw-dropping. Btw, Angie's List's format required me to indicate "yes" or "no" to the query as to whether I would use this provider again...this choice reflects a defect in the format. My husband and I would love to find another vendor, but the irrigation system is already in the grund, so if we can't find a better vendor to service it, we're stuck (unless we don't care if our garden withers and dies). SOOO, Angie's List, your question is not well-posed; I decided to check "no" in the hope I'll find another vendor, even though I recognize that I may be forced to continue with Hydro-Tech.

They may be an "A" rated company but I've left 8 calls into them over the last three weeks and no one has bothered even calling back. This is not a hallmark of an A rated company!

Wrote my initial review a day or two after so need to share follow up 1. Installation took 11 hours and crew finished in the dark. Did not want to express concern over this at the time so let it be. Workers were diligent and polite throughout. 2. Noticed a few days later that the water had not dried up from the test run and was actively leaking. Called office and was given an appt. In a week-they had "other customers who needed maintenance"-had no luck getting it sooner despite expressing my concern over wasting water for a week and the fact that the installation had not been completed thoroughly and I was a brand new customer. Had my husband call and he got it changed 3. At time of quote was told the lawn would be removed and replaced without it being noticed or damaged during installation. Yoni came back out as follow up (appreciated) and when I showed him, he said they would fix it. Never heard a word back. I let it drop since it was November by then and not grass growing season. This spring when I called for maintenance, I reminded them about the grass. Service maintenance was done and "there was no grass available". Did not hear back, called and they said it was scheduled for Saturday. I expressed it would be nice of them to let me know so I could expect a stranger on my lawn that day. They came and went without me knowing on Saturday (I was told no one needed to be home) and I saw they had thrown grass seed on the bald spots. I am a first time homeowner so not sure dumping seed on bald spots is all that is needed to repair a lawn but time will tell. 4. With 14 days of rain, our irrigation system went on during the night. I called to ask why and was told the rain gauge needed to be set more sensitive. I never heard about different sensitivity levels but am pretty sure no one's irrigation should be going off with 14 days of rain. Guess I get to have them come out again...... Workers and maintenance people are very friendly but the company's attention to detail seems poor. I am a brand new customer and I have had to follow up more than a few times and ask to have done what I think the company would be out front fixing themselves. This has been a disappointment on several levels, I am sorry.

It was great, perfect. The salesman Yoni was extremely curtious and professional and solved all my problems. I would definitely recommend them to anybody period.

Very satisfied with our experience with Hydro Tech. Yoni really sold us on the superiority of Hydro Tech's approach to irrigation system design, installation and maintenance. He made me feel comfortable in choosing Hydro Tech when we had other quotes in hand. Great presentation on the company, features of the system we selected and payment options. Very professional appearance and communication by Yoni, project manager Zeke and the entire crew. They took great care to minimize the impact on my existing grass when installing the system. Now we have a WiFi enabled irrigation system that will automatically adapt watering schedule based on time of year and real time weather observations. Couldn't be happier with our decision to choose Hydro Tech.

Ron and Omar arrived on time with a can-do attitude. They dug a trench will minimal impact to the landscaping and installed a line to supply my pond. After installation the guys found a problem caused by the original installer. They didn't leave until it was figured out and everything was working as expected.

I came home on Monday, 18 April and Mr. Wass had come by and started my irrigation system. I was so pleased with his positive customer service approach.

I initially met with the company representative, Yoni Wiss. He developed a plan for the crew to install a system consisting of 32 Rain Bird spray heads and 4 PGP rotor heads. The work team spent the entire day installing and checking all of the necessary equipment. Upon completion the system worked flawlessly and Mr. Wiss conducted a complete programming and systems check to my satisfaction. We are very pleased with the installation and would highly recommend this company!

This is the second time I have worked with Hydro-Tech and have been pleased with the results. They installed a 15-zone system at our house in Great Falls in 1998 and maintained it for 16 years. When we moved to a new home with a smaller lot we wanted to install a much simpler system. Yoni, Phillip, Hermais and their crew were great to work with on our new irrigation system in Arlington. Even though our new system is much smaller than our first they installed it with same great care and professionalism. I also noticed that the quality of materials (pipes, drip line and valves) has improved since 1997. Also note, Hydro-Tech was the only company to offer the Rachio controller option. Rachio is an internet-based irrigation system that uses weather forecast data to preempt unnecessary watering. Rachio also lets me modify watering schedules with my phone, if necessary. Rachio saves water and money?however, many local irrigation companies don?t offer it yet. Yoni Wiss was the only person I met that had heard of the Rachio system. Yoni has intimate knowledge of Rachio and was proficient in installation and set-up. Yoni has good irrigation industry knowledge and helped me to plan an efficient system.

I highly recommend Hydro-Tech. Their service rep, Jeremy, showed up promptly to provide the estimate and walked me through his thoughts on how to plan out our system. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He provided a detailed quote within a few days and we were able to schedule the work shortly thereafter. On installation day the crew showed up on time. They answered my questions and were open to making a few small adjustments. They were extremely professional and did a great job repairing the yard after digging the various trenches. I was very pleased the yard looked in great shape after all was installed. They finished in a single day and made sure the system was working and directed all spray nozzles to cover the right areas. I would definitely recommend them.

Had an issue that wasted a vacation day b/c they never showed up for their scheduled appointment. Thier office closes at 4pm which sucks because they have technicians in the field past that time and there is no one to help customers who have problems like I did. Customer Service was not helpful, but once the service manager became involved the issue was quickly resolved.

The men were punctual and worked diligently throughout the day, The next day the estimator came out and showed me how to manage the system and answered all our questions. They even committed to seeding the areas that were too difficult to replace the grass adequately. I would hire them again.

About a week before the construction job, Chris, one of Hydro-Tech's owner/founders) came on a Friday to make an assessment and estimate, which seemed reasonable and which we accepted (we hadn't really thought of using someone else). At the time we were in a bit of a hurry as we had been told construction would start the following week. So Chris found a slot the following Wednesday when he could send a team to do the work. We were very pleased - a little amazed even - at how quickly and effectively they worked. It took just about three hours for the team of three to locate, pull up, tie off, cap, and flag sprinklers, lights, and wiring to get them out of the way. It turned out our construction job did not begin as planned - in fact quite some time later - but finally we were able to schedule the second half of the job - putting everything back. Again, the team's effectiveness was astounding. The construction had dug up more area than we had been told, so a lot of the water lines, wiring, and sprinkler heads that had been carefully marked had become buried or lost. Nevertheless, the team was able to quickly find most of them (or in some cases, just lay new lines) and got everything restored in just a few hours. They re-programmed the control box to connect everything up, repaired one light that wasn't working, pulled another one that had been destroyed by tree roots but promised to find a replacement and install it later (they did). In addition, they were flexible enough to accommodate my spur--of-the-moment request to switch one zone from sprinkler watering to drip watering, and laid all the line for that too. They needed more drip line than they had on the truck, so they returned within one working day to finish the rest. It's hard to imagine how this whole job could have gone any better. We were very happy with the r esult and would use them again (in fact continue to do so since they will still service our system).

Expecting an estimate, and having the objective completed was unexpected. The project manager was incredibly honest, very professional and friendly. This adjustment saved me a lot of money.

Excellent. Chris, the company rep, came out, measured, climbed in the attic to determine where the water connection should run (the older system ran off a hose bib) and provided me with a detailed estimate in a couple of days. the crew came at the appointed date, and went right to work. No horseplay, just true professionalism at work. I had initial misgivings about the attic water connection, but all went well. I felt sorry for the guys up there as it was an extremely hot day, but it was all done in one day, as promised. Chris came out a couple of days later to walk "the field" with me and make necessary sprinkler head adjustments. I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE WORK PERFORMED, AND THE CONTINUED RESPONSIVENESS OF THE STAFF!!!

The date provided is the start date. Installing this hose bibb spanned a period from 30 May, until 12 July, when I completed the work myself. A total of 7 weeks to complete an hours work. Total cost of material was $286.00 including the material purchased to complete the job. My total cost for this job was $556.00. I expected to pay $350.00. I requested Hydro-tech install a new hose bib exactly like the one that currently exists on my property. I showed them the hose bibb, and provided a picture of it. The appointment was (as usual half of a Saturday 8-12:00. The technician called me at 6:45am to let me know that he was on his way to my house. He arrived at 7:10! REALLY - on a Saturday morning! He didn't have any of the parts to install the hose bib, so he went off to his next job, and to purchase the material he needed. He was supposed to return later after he had obtained the parts to complete the job. He arrived again at 10:00 to do the job. He worked on the hose bibb for an hour, but didn't have the correct valve to complete the job correctly. Instead of getting the correct valve to complete the job correctly, he cobbled the valve with a 30 degree elbow to complete his interpretation of the job. I wasn't happy but couldn't do much about it . The technician left. I called Hydro-Tech to fix the hose bib and they made an appointment to redo the valve for the next Saturday between 12:00 and 5:00 PM (again half a day). No one showed up. I was here all day. Half of my Saturday wasted. Follow up: After two more visits that didn't lead anywhere. They finally agreed to come back to address problems with hose bibb if I bought the parts that they couldn't seem to find. I went to Home-Depot and purchased the parts ($60.00) to complete the job to my specification. (Basically, make this new hose-bib look just like the existing hose-bib.). The second try was close, but not quit like the other hose bibb. I eventually completed the necessary work to make the new hose bibb like the existing one. I'm disgusted with this job, and the overall attitude of everyone involved. As a retired senior, I have limited discretionary money, and can't afford to waste money on poor workmanship, and then being insulted by having to complete the work myself. Overall they did a good job, and I would use them again. My expectations are aligned, and so are their's - I use Angie's list!

It went very well. It always does. I have been a customer for 16 years. This visit was supposed to be an easy spring turn-on of the system and Abel (the tech) found all of the broken pipe and sprinkler head. He was alone on the job. When he turned on the system he determined that there was a leak. He worked VERY hard to dig and find the pipe, to find the exact point of the leak on the pipe, to replace the pipe and cover the pipe back up. His perseverance was impressive and the whole time he had a great spirit and never seemed annoyed or frustrated. Abel is a true asset to the company.

Zone 4 would not shut off. We had two previous service calls with other technicians, but Shawn was able to diagnose and fix the problem. (Evidently it was not easy to diagnose.) We are very appreciative and now can run our system again.

I just did not have time to continually water my lawn and keep all of my landscape healthy, so I looked at several irrigation companies. Hydro Tech was recommended by my landscape company (Cutting Edge Lawn and Landscape), and after talking with them, I could see why. They knew what they were doing, had a great price (they matched another price I had - and had better equipment), and were nice folks. I worked with Jeremy, who came out and described the sprinkler systems and how they would lay the system out for my property. The installation went very easily and I was really impressed about how they hit every plant on my property (some by soaker/drip line, some by pop-up sprinklers). My property has some challenging locations, and they somehow made it all work well. Although I wasn't as impressed by their warranty service (it took them a few tries to fix a problem), in the end they ensured I was happy and satisfied, which is really what counts. And now my lawn and plants are green again, thanks to their sprinkler system. I highly recommend them for their price, quality and knowledge.

I contracted with Hydro-Tech in Nov 2014. Due to scheduling issues, mostly weather related, the installation didn't take place until April, 14, 2015. The technician overseeing the sale and installation was Yoni. He was terrific. Displayed great knowledge of the product and needs of my lawn. I had two other estimates, all of which were in the same ballpark. What I liked about Hydro-Tech was they were to only company to place drip lines for all plants, rather than just using spray heads. I now know that all bushes and plants will receive adequate watering. The day before installation Yoni came over and marked all the locations for spray heads. He was present at the start of the installation and went over with the crew what was to be done. The crew (approximately 5 individuals) were prompt and worked continuously throughout the project. They cleaned up the area when they were done. The foreman made an installation suggestion (how to run wiring for the unit) which dressed up the look. The next day Yoni came back, programmed the unit and explained how it worked. He suggested not turning it on since it was spring raining season. In the beginning of May I turned the system on and received an alarm message. I contacted Yoni and after two requests he came and corrected the alarm and corrected the usage time from PM to AM. Overall I am very happy with their work. Yoni is first class. Extremely knowledgeable, polite and hard working.

I found them through Angie's List. It was a great experience, and I still use them. They are coming to work on my sprinkler system in a month. I am very satisfied with them.

They are always efficient and come out promptly and on time.

They raised their prices, and that's why I went out looking for somebody else. They're very professional and I would have used them again, if I didn't find somebody cheaper for the same quality. If it weren't for price, I would absolutely use them again. We found them through a recommendation.

Update 4/17/15: I was called by David from Customer Support as a result of my posting here on Angie's list back in January. David apologized for the issues I had experienced and offered to have their techs come out to do my spring turn on and fix any issues that resulted from only half the system being winterized. We scheduled an appointment for today. Phil Space, GM and a service team came out to do my spring turn on. Along with turning the system on, they identified a number of issues and corrected them all, Winterization related or not. Phil also gave me some good advice about my system, some potential changes I could make and discussed we recommended maintenance. Overall, the service provided by the Hydro-Tech team today was excellent. I am upgrading my previous Overall grade of D to a B as an average of the 2 experiences, but would definitely give the team today an A, as indicated by the other 5 scores. I appreciate Hydro-Tech management taking responsibility for the issues I experienced and correcting them. Even though I did experience some issues, I would now recommend Hydro-Tech based upon their handling of them and follow up.
