Alterations/Sewing/Decorating
This used to be the BEST place to get shoes repaired - I used to think of this man as a miracle worker. He could rescue shoes that weren't in good enough shape to donate to charity - but lately I have come to a different opinion. Shoe repairs have failed, and a purse was ruined by a completely irresponsible "repair". I have an alligator purse that was my mother's and the handles had sen better days. All they needed were to be restitched, but he put cheap black pleather around the handles like a tube and sewed them on - which wasn't the repair we'd discussed and agreed on, nor was it worth what I paid.
