I bought a big deal for $99. They did a great job. They knew what they were doing. They were very professional.

worker arrived early - went right to work - finished with scheduled chores before 3 hrs were up - should've had a longer list.

It only took 45 minutes to complete the work needed for my house. Everything looked clean and neat, way better than I did before. He arrive 30 minutes early, but he didn't have the color I wanted for my shower. He the. Went to lowes to purchase the color and returned. He removed the old caulk, cleaned the area, then applied the new caulk.

It went well. Mr Sipe was very communicative via email. We picked out the tile at Lowes. I sent him the info on the tile I wanted and the pattern we wanted it in. We scheduled the work and his guys showed up a little early. The work was done faster than anticipated (he said probably 2 days, it only took 1). The final product looks great and is exactly how we wanted.

The guy just took forever to do the painting, which should've been done in 3 hours. I have redone the whole house, so I had a lot of painters recently, and he was definitely the slowest painter I ever had. Painting the trim in the bathroom took 2 1/2 hours, which was a really small bathroom. However, he did a fine job for what he did.

He came today to give me an estimate for the work. He was very professional and explained everything that he would be doing. I really liked that he was quick to respond to my calls.

NO EXCITING STORY A JOB WELL DONE

Went very well start to finish... no worries.

I had two sections of gutter that had been damaged from limbs falling on them. They replaced one section and advised that it would be more cost effective to straighten the other section. Repairs completed as described and on time. No problems after the repairs were done.

We bought the gutter cleaning deal. Before calling to set up an appointment, I sent an email asking about gutter leaf guards. Mr. Sipe responded the next day and indicated he would bring samples when they came to clean the gutters. We set up an appointment for a Saturday and they arrived on time after calling to advise they were on their way. They offered two kinds of gutter leaf guards. We chose the Gutter RX brand. They had them with them and were able to install that day. The whole job took about 3 hours. We had one non-standard gutter.. They came back Monday with the right size leaf guard and installed it. They did not ask for payment until that was completed. They cleaned up well; bagged and took away what they cleaned from the gutters. They offered to come back no charge if we experienced any problems.

I had two interactions regarding this "big deal".... the first didn't get consummated because I originally asked for more than just grout work (replacing a tile too) and the company rep didn't have the on-hand tools for that... and yes, do to my particular situation, he talked about doing more in-depth and costly work, which I initially considered (but ultimately rejected). Ok... re-schedule, but my understanding was that he would call me, not vice-versa... misunderstanding I guess, Ok again. On both appointments, he was late, but did call... and close enough, no qualm there. In the final work though, one portion of grout line dug out wasn't refilled, and he also chipped the top of a tile clearing another grout line (sigh... wonder if he knew or not at the time????). I would have called them to repair both misgivings (unfilled grout and chipped tile), but I have very little grout left to match (known to them), so I used a permanent like-colored marker to fill in the chipped spot and can use minimal grout on my own to fill-in the missed grout refill. My biggest thorn was not related to the repair job at all (although the pea-size chip and missed fill-in for such a small job should not have occurred in my humble opinion). This really bugged me... the rep apparently knew he had an antifreeze leak ongoing with his vehicle and still chose to place this leaky thing in my driveway (leaving quite a puddle....I have animals, and this is succulent poison to them!). I know he knew the vehicle leaked because he left an empty container of antifreeze fluid in my driveway when he left (double rude). He apparently filled it before he left my drive and just tossed the empty container aside for me to deal with. Chris was polite, seemingly knowledgeable.... but would I call this company again for service, NO.. all things considered.

He came on, left on time. Tried to fix the floors. Did some small jobs to fill up the time. Very personable.

I made an appointment and there was a mix up about the date (mostly my fault). Made a new appointment, he arrived on time and was very professional. He inspected, cleaned my gutters and let me know everything was alright. I asked him for advice on gutter guards and he provided the information and a reasonable quote.

The worker left a mess in the yard, flower beds. Wanted to charge extra to clean it up. I won't be using this company again.

We contacted JB at Commonwealth Renovations to get new siding on our house. The thing that I liked about JB is that there was no sales pressure. He provided a competitive quote, and did not pressure me into signing a contract ?right now?, or giving 10% off for signing today or some other annoying sales tactics. He came over to our house, explained the work that he would do and gave an offer. He was on time, removed his shoes coming in. All things that I appreciate ? showed respect. We told him that we were also looking to get new windows and he told me that he would see what he can work out. He provided another competitive quote a few days later. Now to the quality of the workmanship ? Great! Although, it took his team a bit longer than I expected, the quality of the work is outstanding. Our house now looks like new. Getting great comments from the neighbors. I feel that with Commonwealth Renovations, you are getting great value. You are not paying for teams and teams of marketing people, layers or management, but actually for the work being done on your house ? and quality work at that. Strongly recommended.

I took advantage of one of Angie's list specials with this contractor knowing that I needed some help on grout in shower that I had previously attempted to patch myself. The contractor did exactly what I hoped he would do and made recommendations as to how I could protect the job -- which we did promptly. There was a small schedule glitch but, once discovered, the contractor called and handyman still came out on same day. The end job looked GREAT!

The owner came out and he was very thorough and professional with the estimate and showing us beautiful samples of work already completed. He gave great suggestions for ways to save money, while not losing quality. We're going to wait to do the work and he wasn't pushy about it at all. Will definitely call them again when we're ready.

When they came out to do the work they said they couldn’t do it because they would have to take off all of our gutter covers and there would have been an extra charge of $150-200. He also told us that our gutter cover’s needed to be upgraded. He was also 3 or 4 late in arriving for the appointment. He said he was on another job and had to do some extra work for them and that is why he was late. I decided to probably work with a different company instead.

Arrived earlier than scheduled (by agreement). Completed the tasks to our complete satisfaction!

They came out on time and inspected the job to be performed. When they noticed the Dryvit layered foundation, they stopped and called the office. They wanted to have me sign a waiver before starting the work to indicate damage to the Dryvit was not their responsibility. I denied and had Mr. Handyman do the work without question.

I bought this deal, however, the company wanted to sell me gutter guards when all I wanted was to get the gutters cleaned. I didn't like the "bait and switch" approach. The guy who cleaned the gutters was nice enough, though smoking a ciggerette at my front door while trying to sell me gutter guards was very unprofessional. He also banged around the house siding and seemed to hang in some precarious ways that made me and my husband worry he might fall and hurt himself on our 2.5 story home. He did miss one of the gutters that I can see from the window of one of the bedrooms. On the positive side, most of what he removed from the gutters he placed in a trash bag and removed from the property as opposed to just leaving it laying around the exterior of the home.

Chris discussed the project with us in detail and worked hard to complete it. It was not what you would call a major undertaking, because our bathrooms were in good condition anyway, and we prepared for the repairs before he arrived. Nevertheless, Chris fixed a number of things that were necessary to make both rooms really nice, so we are very satisfied with the results. We did have to purchase a liquid sealer to put on the grout after it was completely dry, but that was no big deal. The sealer was readily available at our nearby Lowes.

I purchase coupon and called commonwealth immediately and received call back within same day. The owner, Mr. J.B. Sipes, came to the house, evaluated work to be done, and gave estimate, which was very fair. Work began within two weeks of purchase and was completed in 1 1/2 weeks. I have had and still having a great experience with Commonwealth Renovation. They are caulking, grouting, painting two bathrooms and ceiling in bedroom and upstairs hall. Robert is doing work and he is so professional and obviously wants to do a good job. He goes beyond to find the right materials and will not settle for anything less. I am very happy with the work. Mr. Sipes, the owner, has been very responsive to all my calls and completing the job. The job is completed and Mr. Sipes came by to see if we were happy and looked over the work, which by the way, was excellent. I would refer this company very highly to anyone who wants a job well done in a timely matter.
