From the start, Amy was an absolute pleasure to work with. We had an initial meeting with her to make sure we'd be a and quot;good fitand quot;, and it was clear that she was wonderful--enthusiastic, warm, and extremely knowledgeable. Amy was an excellent resource to me throughout my pregnancy. I often called her to seek advice and ask questions (of which I had many, as this was my first pregnancy). Amy was always happy to talk to me, at length, and even came to my house in the days before I gave birth to help make sure the baby was in a and quot;good positionand quot;. Amy was always upfront about issues that were outside of her area of expertise and knowledge base, and would often get back to me after doing more research herself. On the day of our daughter's birth, Amy's role was absolutely invaluable. Not only did she help with pain management techniques and helping to talk me through contractions, she was able to help guide my husband so that he could be as and quot;usefuland quot; and involved in coaching me. Additionally, since I was in a situation in which I had to deviate from my birth plan, Amy helped my husband and I to talk through the pros and cons of every decision we had to make in the hospital. She never once tried to sway us, but simply offered her thoughts and opinions, and made sure that we understood what the doctors and nurses were telling us. It was so reassuring to know that we had a strong advocate throughout the process. In addition to using Amy as our labor doula, we attended both her basic and advanced birth classes. We really enjoyed them. We learned a ton, and they were hands-on and interactive, which made it easy to remain engaged and retain the information. We would not hesitate for a second to recommend Amy to anyone...she was so wonderful...she will probably be the first person we call if and when I find out I am pregnant again! We are so grateful to have found her!
