  • Groomingville
    5.0
My dog (est. 65lb Collie/Shepard etc. mix) has been going to Groomingville for over 5 years. I have always been happy with the end result, their service, they way they treat my dog who has extreme anxiety. They have always let me know if there were any issues and have fair pricing compared to competitors. I trust this group over others because of their experience. I originally came to them because of my other dog who is a rescue and has some initial trust issues with strangers. They knew the situation upfront & knew exactly how to handle her appropriately while getting the job done. I always feel comfortable leaving my dogs with them. I have referred friends & coworkers there & they have also felt happy with their experiences. They are experienced and honest. I will always support local businesses and they will forever have a loyal client with me read less

  • Yappie Cuttery

Yappies provided excellent service to my 17-year-old chihuahua. She hates getting her nails cut. They took their time and let me hold her so she would feel more comfortable. I highly recommend the service at Yappies. All of the negative reviews seem to be for boarding, which is not a service Yappies offers--this was the vet who shared their old building read less

Mrs. Abby is one of kind and so warm welcoming. I was referred to her by a neighbor a few months ago for grooming. I am so happy with each service. Mrs. Abby always address any concerns that my dog might need attention.

They did a really good job! They knew what they were doing. The price range is AMAZING! The job they did, with that price honestly blew my mind because for the job they did, it would’ve been $90-$120 maybe. I got it done for way less! Honestly I will go from now on to their place.

  • PAMPERED PETS CURBSIDE GROOMING
    5.0
Dawn was great! A little bird recommended her and what a treat! I sent her a text and she was quick to respond. Within minutes we had a plan for her to come to my house. We talked about exactly what we needed for our little King Charles and she delivered. No more grinch feet! For anyone with anxious or shy pups--this is the route to go. He was ready to go after about an hour and a half. He even said goodbye to Dawn which is always a good sign. Highly recommend read less

Great - really good group of pet loving staff. I have used them for over ten years and they have cared for my pets like they were their own. Very responsive and reliable. Highly recommend!

  • Shroeder Shearing
    5.0
I’ve used Shroeder Shearing at least 2-3 times a year for the past 8 years. Twice a year she shears my goats and then a couple times a year she’ll stop by to trim their hooves. She always does a great job. Could I trim the hooves myself? Sure. But I value having an experienced shearer looking at my animals and offering advice or support. I’ve learned a lot from Anne over the years. She always puts the welfare of the animals first. Highly recommend her. I have a couple animals that are pretty unruly. She never lets it faze her read less

  • The Pet Spa at Barkley Square
    3.0
Not so great. I’m writing this review at the request of the company which I found odd. After several email exchanges I could not get a straight answer on how much a bath and haircut would be. I found the website confusing as it emphasized various “bath” packages, but none combined with a routine haircut. The best answer I got was several emails down the line - that the “base service” was a “full bath and blowdry” and that haircuts were “$30 additional fee per dog” followed by another email saying that cuts “run from $80 to $130 depending on the size of the dog”. I felt like I was getting a different answer with each email so decided not to use this company read less

  • Horners Corner Pet Salon
    5.0
Several years ago, one of our neighbors who owned a labradoodle, mentioned that she had used Kelli Horner for years, and was delighted with her service and expertise. Not long after this recommendation, the groomer we were using became ill and would be out for a number of months, providing an opportune time for us to make an appointment with Kelli. On grooming day, I arrived at the shop slightly after 8:00 am with Cleo and some sample pictures showing what we were looking for (there is no standard grooming protocol for labradoodles). Kelli looked at the pictures closely, asked many detailed questions, and made notes on her client card. Needless to say, I was impressed with her desire to provide the grooming we were looking for. When Cleo was picked up a few hours later, she looked beautiful, and had clearly enjoyed her stay. (Well-behaved dogs are allowed to socialize). At this point, our labradoodle has had 23 groomings with Kelli, at 9 to 12-week intervals (starting 5/14/15). Kelli is an unusual groomer in that she keeps detailed notes on her clients, allowing her to produce consistent and exceptional groomings each time Horner’s Corner moved in 2018 to her current location at 370 Maple Avenue West, Suite #3, Vienna VA 22180, (across the street from Amphora); there is plenty of parking in the back of the building complex). We are so grateful that a labradoodle-owning neighbor recommended Kelli, and we have been so delighted, we recommend her whenever possible. Thanks Kelli read less

  • Life of Riley
    1.0
It is sad when a business you have relied on for years changes management and goes downhill, but that is what happened to Life of Riley. After my recent experience, I will never use them again. Have been boarding dogs here since 2016, but apparently there was a recent management/ownership change and this place is now very poorly run, provides sub-standard care, and should be avoided. I boarded my dog here during a recent summer vacation. In the past, we could watch him on webcams, received a daily email/text update with photos, and could rely on him to well cared for. This time, the webcams didn't work, we received no updates, staff did not answer the phone or return voicemail messages repeatedly over the course of one week, and the dog was not bathed -- as I had asked during reservation process and at drop-off -- and came home filthy and with kennel cough. When I spoke to the (new) manager, I got nothing but apathy. "We don't do that anymore," when asked about email updates. "They don't work", when asked about the webcams. "We didn't get your message" when asked why nobody answered the phone or returned calls over the course of 7 days. "You didn't ask for a bath" even though I had done so online and in person... and via a never-returned voicemail message. I then had to take my dog to an emergency vet because he came home with kennel cough. I seriously doubt that this place checks any longer for vaccination records, and the place was visibly more dirty than it had been under prior management. Fortunately there are many options in this area for dog boarding and daycare. Life of Riley used to be one of the best, but has visibly and dramatically declined under new management and should be avoided at all costs read less
