Clarence W. Maberry and C. Oden Maberry established Maberry Funeral Home on the second floor of the Maberry Store in Willis, VA. in 1927. C. Oden's leadership and commitment to the business spanned 8 decades. He never retired and was in the office working the day prior to his death. Maberry Funeral Home was relocated in 1936 to the current Floyd location. Clarence W. Maberry died September 10th, 1955 at the age of 61. Clarence's son, Arvie O. Maberry, who was also a licensed funeral director, became manager after his father's death in 1955. Arvie died on March 23rd, 1960 at the age of 43.
