As far as the physical therapy itself, it was average, nothing great. The "F" grade I am giving ACE is due to the administrative side. When I first signed up with ACE they gave me a document that stated that they had contacted my insurance company on my behalf and that I had a $0 deductible and a $0 co-pay. I went to Ace for about 2-3 months until I started feeling a little better. A couple of months later I received a bill from ACE for $770.00! I called my insurance company and found out that I had have a $3000 deductible in my plan! Not to mention my insurance company also had no record of any representative from ACE calling to inquire about my benefits. I called the ACE billing department and spoke with a woman named Carmen. She refused to accept any responsibility for passing along incorrect information about my insurance benefits. First Carmen suggested that my insurance company (not ACE) had made the mistake. She went so far to even suggest that my insurance company purposely deceived ACE by giving them the wrong information. She then proceeded to try blame me for not knowing my insurance policy! Does that mean I should assume that ACE, a health care provider for over 10 years, does not know how to inquire about a patient's benefits? If the billing department at ACE had done their job they would have known that I needed to pay a $70 deductible with every visit. Besides, even if I had gotten the details from my plan how was I supposed to pay them when they believed that I didn't owe anything? Poor, very poor. If I had know that I would have to pay a $70 deductible for each appointment I would have not gone to ACE for 3 months. I've gone to several other physical therapists and health care providers and this is the first time I have ever had this problem.
