"Future Customers: Please review previous feedback from actual customers. This is not a customer of Handyman Matters. We do offer free estimates over the phone, when pictures are provided or if we can review the project without an appointment. However, if we are being asked to troubleshoot a repair (I.e. leak or electrical problem) or asked to sit down and consult on a project we do charge for this. We can't work for free nor does any other contractor. We simply charge a $40 for on-site consultation fee, which is fully refundable when the job is booked. Furthermore, we tried for three days to get an address from this customer so that we could swing by to review his project and to provide him with a free estimate. We are a Super Service Award recipient for a reason. We offer amazing service and guarantee our results. Please review previous feedback from actual customers."
"Thank you for the feedback. Our standard process is for the customer to approve our quote before we begin a job. You approved the quote for this work, and we honored it, although the repair was significant and took 14 hours instead of the 8 hours we quoted. Job Scope: We demo'd the chimney siding, lifted the chimney cap, measured, cut and installed all new siding, and caulked and painted the replacement wood. Our technician worked on a roof for 14 hours and performed beautiful work that is under warranty should anything go wrong. Future customers: Our rates are higher than a typical, work-alone handyman because we are fully insured and bonded, and we warranty/guarantee all work performed by our highly skilled technicians."
"WOW! Not much I can say about this. We strive for perfection in our customer service path and it's nice to hear when we hit a homerun. Our service path is important to us. From the time we answer the phone through the follow up process after the job is complete. We have worked on this diligently for the last three years and our customer really like it. Thanks for the wonderful feedback!"
"I am happy to hear that you were pleased with our service. Thank you for the feedback!"
"Thank you for the feedback! I am glad that our craftsman was able to arrive early and take care of those repairs for you. Please keep us in mind for your future repair needs."
"Thank you for the feedback. I am glad to hear that we could repair the stairs for you and didn't have to replace them. I'm also glad to hear that our craftsman was able to provide other tips on your home repairs."
"Thank you for the feedback and I am glad you are pleased with our service. As you know, this was a very difficult repair to get to your chimney and required a spotter on the ground for safety purposes."
"Future customers: Please review our previous feedback from other customers. We were a 2016 Super Service Award winner for a reason. We have dozens of positive reviews on Angie's List, our website and Google to support our business and quality of service provided. There is some misinformation or incomplete information provided here in this review that is unfortunate for us (and her) as a customer. Feedback from our customers is taken very seriously and we will use this to improve our business processes. Regarding the scope work: This was not a standard installation. The previous contractor poorly installed the attic stairs and caused some frame and ceiling damage. We had to repair the frame opening and repair the drywall. Additionally, materials were not provided so we had to procure materials for the work. It typically takes 4-5 hours to install attic stairs (when materials are provided). Standard installation is to remove existing stairs & trim, install new stairs and trim. We do 1-2 per month as a company and have extensive experience with these. This took an extra 3 hours to complete the repair due to procuring materials, reworking the opening, repairing drywall (tape, mud, floating), cutting/installing new trim boards and caulking. This was all discussed with the customer before we got started with the work and was approved (and completely satisfied) when the work was completed. Regarding discounts: We cannot double up our coupons and this is no different than any contractor or retailer. The customer had $25 Angie's List coupon plus a $57 dollar labor savings from HMM. We applied the greater discount. Regarding materials: We give our customers the option of purchasing the materials for the job (some contractors do not) or we can provide the service of picking up the materials. The markup covers our expenses, margins and the one year warranty that we extend for your product. Home Depot/Lowes will give a standard 30-90 day warranty. There is a lot of frustration procuring materials from the local home supply stores and we offer the service to our customers to eliminate this stress and frustration."
"Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to learn that we had problems with your work order. However, we will not do repairs that we are not authorized to do and we only charged for the work that we did for you. When you called to have your faucet replaced, you did not specify "shower" faucet versus "sink" faucet. It was only when our Craftsman arrived to complete the work that he learned that it was in fact the shower faucet that was at issue. This involves opening-up your shower wall and replacing the rough plumbing control valve. The rough plumbing/valve-related scope of work should be performed only by a licensed journeyman plumber. I was informed that he reviewed the situation with you, and that he explained why he was not comfortable moving forward with your project. We have already taken the corrective action in our office to ask additional clarifying questions in the future when booking jobs for faucet repairs. Please give us the opportunity to earn your business in the future."
"I am glad to learn that you were pleased with our service. Please keep us in mind for your future needs."
"Yes we do provide quotes and we are experts in exterior repair. We also have a full-time staff (M-F 8am to 5pm) answering calls and booking leads. However, we have no records of you contacting our company. We track all incoming leads (calls, voice-mail, emails, Facebook and instant messenger) and we have no information that you contacted our company. Please give us a call and we will provide a free estimate. We apologize if our process failed or we missed your call."
"Thank you for your review and I am glad to hear that everything went well for you."
"Thank you for choosing Handyman Matters and for giving us the opportunity to earn your business. Give us a call in December and we can reinstall those Christmas lights for you!"
"Thank you for the feedback and we are glad that were able to perform the services to your satisfaction."
"Thanks for the feedback and we are glad to hear that we met your expectations."
"Thank you for choosing Handyman Matters!"
