"Thank you very much, [Member Name Removed]! Enjoy your new beautiful wood floors!"
"Thank you for your review, [Member Name Removed]! We appreciate the insight on your experience with Boardwalk Floors!"
The wood installation crew was on time and courteous. They did a very professional job and delivered what seemed like excellent results on time.
However Boardwalk outsourced the refinishing. The refinish crew was always late to arrive. Never completed any of the work on time. They also did the poorest sanding job I have seen. There were circular swirl marks in several areas of the living room, and the sides of our hallway were horrible.
Wayne Highfield of Boardwalk came to inspect after several calls and promises to show up. It was Rodeo time, and he was heavily involved in Rodeo at night, and slow to move in the morning. When he showed up he agreed to get the subcontractor to re-screen and sand most of the floor due to the poor job. This took an additional week. When this was finished the floor looked ok.
However 2 weeks later the new floor started buckling. Boardwalk promptly come out and identified a moisture problem. They pulled up the floor and said the water was coming from the patio area. They replaced the floor, and promptly charged us for the re-work. We refused to pay the entire additional amount as they had never given us a quote, and we felt that they shoudl have notice the water issue beofe installing.
Unfortunately even after removing the exterior patio, the moisture problem quickly returned and we lived with buckled floor for 6 months before we had enough funds to have a different contractor pull up the floor.
They immediately found a hole in the subfloor that the vapor barrier had not sealed. This was exactly where Boardwalk had pulled up the floor looking for the solution 10 months prior, but failed. We called Boardwalk to ask for assistance as their vapor barrier was clearly not sealed, and thier re-work had failed to identify the real cause. They promptly told me that I was looking for someone to blame, the tar was not supposed to be a vapor barrier (which is incorrect), and hung up after calling us a very choice name.
Avoid these people at all costs. We have since used an Angie listed contractor and are very happy with the new floor.
