Katherine Cooper came over from Angel Pets for intense grooming of a long haired, enormous Maine C*** that is mostly an outside cat, but he loves to come inside he can. He's shedding lots of his winter coat and the hairballs had become quite a nuisance. We also had grooming performed for the resident queen bee house cat. The Maine C*** had some shaving done, nails clipped and dry shampoo applied. I thought he'd be the calmer feline, but he turned out to be the more dramatic performance. Katherine was very professional and handled both with love, but made sure she kept control of the situation, so that no one was hurt. Grooming any cat especially two with all their claws and strong personalities is quite the task, but Mrs. Cooper handled the situation flawlessly. Angel pets sent the perfect person for the job and kept in consistent contact prior to the job.

I received an email confirmation of the appointment 2 weeks in advance. The day of the service I left work to be at home before the scheduled time but no one arrived, or called to let me know that there was an issue.

Tiffany is a God sent to our family. Since we moved here to Houston we really have struggled in finding a groomer for our shihtzhus. We only have rescue zhus, and one of which is a puppy mill survivor. My dogs will never ever be crated and that was our challenge. Nor could I find someone that could just groom the guys and get them back in a few hours. I don't like leaving my babes crated for 4-6 hours with other dogs, or having to pay extra for a simple appt. then you do pay the extra, and we get them home and their haircuts are terrible. It was really a struggle..........until I met Tiffany. She is amazing, and I actually did strongly recommend her to one of my neighbors, and they too, loved her. She is excellent in how she handles my guys, one of our rescues, tends to bite and doesn't like his face done. She handles him extremely professionally and they look beautiful when she is done. Plus, you can stand right next to your pet as she grooms, so if perhaps, you want them altered, maybe shorter on the top, or whatever, Tiffany will ask you, and you will always be satisfied. It's a blessing that our rescue zhus can get a beautiful groom and not be stressed in the process. Her prices are great as well. We would strongly recommend her to our friends and family. Grooming is no longer a big stressor, she polite, punctual, and extremely professional at what she does. We are very grateful. Hire her........you will not be disappointed!

Advertises no pet too difficult.. Had cat with fleas..needed flea treatment and shampoo.....refused service...offered to pay for grooming and then boarding...also reused...although advertised wide area of service and well...sounds like she was just too busy.

Because our service is mobile and we come to you, we do not have a boarding facility like most salons do. We do board dogs cage free in our home but that makes it impossible to board cats here too. So we could not board your cat for you while you treat your home for fleas as you requested. If we flea dipped your cats in your home and you put them back in your home infested with fleas they would just get fleas again. We do have appointments available but we did not want to take your money for service that would not be successful. I am very sorry we were unable to provide the specific service you requested.

We were at the last stages of moving, furniture was disappearing, unfamiliar people were in and out of the house, and our three cats were becoming very concerned with all this action occurring. We knew from previous experience that the cats would not go quietly into the travel cages, but we tried everything we could think of without any luck. In desperation we contacted Angel Pets of Houston to see if they could get our overly agitated cats into the cages. Tiffany came out promptly and within 15 minutes had all three cats in their cages, without injuring herself. Amazing! She was prompt, professional and charged a very reasonable fee for this service. I would highly recommend Angel Pets of Houston to anyone in a similar situation.

Aug. 14 I filled out the form on their website requesting services needing extra de-shedding, hair trim, bath, nail trim, ears cleaned. I stated I needed after hours/weekends and understood there was an extra cost. Got a reply same day from Kristy quoting $100-$150 and 2-3 hours. I replied Aug. 20 asking how to make an appt. and saying I wanted a Sat. Got email from Kristy Aug. 23 saying Aug. 30 at 10 am. I replied same day saying great and giving all my info. Aug. 25 I get email from Kristy saying and quot;Tiffany had something come up this weekend and cannot groomand quot; and only had 1 night available the next week, Wed. Sept. 3. Even though I wanted Sat. I agreed to Wed. at 5 pm. Didn't get a response so emailed again Aug. 28 asking if we were on. Got response from Kristy saying yes, I was scheduled. Wed. the 3rd I got a text at 2:20 from Tiffany saying she might be late as she was heading to Atascocita to groom 3 dogs and she was already running late, hoped that was ok. I didn't get the message until 4:30 as my cell phone doesn't work in my office. I replied asking how late, would another day be better. She replied that she was and quot;super bookedand quot; and it would be another 2 weeks, but if I could wait she'd be here by maybe 6:15. However, she'd need to do my dog inside as it was just too hot for her and the dogs outside. I don't know how she thought she was going to do all I had asked for inside. I replied that with everything I had asked for inside wouldn't work and 6:15 was too late so just cancel. She responded that she was really sorry and she'll only do dogs outside up to 85 degrees or maybe 90 if there's a breeze. I refuse to believe that she has bathed/trimmed/clipped every single dog since May indoors. And does she think the weather is going to magically break in 2 weeks? It's September in Houston. What will be different in 2 weeks? She just didn't want to do it. Apparently she isn't that interested in new clients. I'm glad she has a good client list built up, because she sure doesn't care about new ones. Pay attention to the older reviews as I didn't do.

I am very sorry you had that experience. We can not help having to reschedule people occasionally. We try not to as we know how frustrating it is for our clients, but things do happen beyond our control. It was not that I did not want to groom your dog that night. I had been grooming since 9 am but I was planning to do your dog even if I was late and grooming until 8 or 9 pm. I did plan to come but notified you I would be just 30 minutes late, it was your choice to have me not come at all rather than come just 30 minutes late. When you are the last appointment of the day and we have worked on new clients all day, we sometimes under estimate how long new jobs will take, and it makes us run late by the end of the day. In this case the client in Atascocita lied to us about how matted their dogs were over the phone. They said 'maybe a few matts' and when we arrived the 3 dogs were all very badly matted. They were also badly behaved and it took me a very long time to groom them. There was also alot of traffic coming back down 1960 after that job due to rush hour at 5:30-6 pm. We can only groom outdoors when weather is nice- like below 85 degrees. We normally do not even take large hairy dog jobs this time of year unless they agree to let us do it indoors and that was my mistake to not clarify the brushing and trimming part of the job would have to be done indoors- though I am surprised you would want me or your dog to work outside for 2 plus hours in 98 degree weather (and yes it is work for your dog too). Yes we can do large hairy dogs indoors and contain the mess fairly well too. We will do a quick bath outside in the hose after brushing or shaving indoors but that is all we will do outdoors this time of year. My business is IN YOUR HOME mobile grooming- I do not have a van. I am sorry you were not aware of how I perform the job. I will edit my email replies to make it more apparent to future clients. If you will let me come groom your dog and make it up to you, I will discount it half the price if you are happy and will update your review afterwards. I would need to atleast do the work in your garage and have a fan on me so it is not so hot. I am not available on weekends as fall is a busy time for fundraisers that I do where I trim dogs nails and donate all the money to dog rescues. I could only come on an evening around 5. The next evening I am available is 9/29 at 5 pm. Please text me if you want the appointment. 281-658-9661 Again I am terribly sorry that we inconvenienced you.

Admittedly, we are not the best clients as we are extremely busy, sometimes forgetful, animal people trying to keep track of several foster dogs. We even locked them out accidentally when we left town and they calmly worked with us to resolve it. We always have new foster dogs, some of which are not necessarily the easiest dogs. They have always done an excellent job. I appreciate that they offer a lot of different options for times, etc. and do not charge extra based on the number of pets. They are rescue friendly, which is another big plus and makes them a business worth supporting in my book.

Of course we specialize in dealing with difficult pets and we realize schedules of active people can be up in the air- but we are happy to accommodate that :) Getting locked out of the house was interesting and I'm glad we were able to work it out and care for your pups in spite of that glitch! Tiffany has been Nilla's only groomer since February 2011, when Nilla's was 10 weeks old. She is very patient with Nilla and has always done a great job. I found a picture of a pantaloon cut and she now cuts Nilla in that cut. The convenience of having the groomer come to the house is great and your pet does not have to wait in a kennel for their turn, as in the other grooming facilities. I highly recommend her services!

I book my appointments a month in advance. This schedule groom was for 6/4/2013 at 12:00 noon. At 11:50 a.m., Tiffany calls to tell me she will be 20 minutes late (making the new arrival time at 12:10 p.m.). She however did not arrive until 12:25 p.m. She informed me that the prior appointment went longer than usual. That's was fine, as long as I could get my dog groomed. However, she said the client after me was upset that by keeping MY grooming appointment it meant his appointment was pushed back and that he couldn't wait because he had an appointment he needed to keep. I was gracious enough to reschedule my appointment for 6/7/2013 at 8:00 a.m. She said she was heavly booked. It is the day of 6/7/2103, 10:17 a.m. and I have not seen or heard from Tiffany. I would have and quot;thoughtand quot; Tiffany would have treated me in like manner. WRONG! I will find another groomer. Not to worry, Tiffany. Connie

When I rescheduled your appointment I put it in my phone for 8 pm instead of 8 am, and therefore when I looked at my appointments that Friday morning, my calender was not correct and my memory failed me and I totally missed your appointment. Of course I could not call you to tell you I wasn't coming because in my mind I did not have an appointment with you at 8 am- I rely heavily on my calender but people do make mistakes and I make them more than I like to admit unfortunately- I do understand how terribly I inconvenienced you and I feel awful for it. I really felt good about grooming your very difficult dog Beau for you but it is true that I am in high demand and my schedule is crazy busy due to my ability to groom very difficult dogs that want to bite like yours - and yes sometimes they take me alot longer than I forecasted which makes me late to the rest of the appointments for the day. That is why I originally had to reschedule you. I appreciate your feedback. Surely you can admit that the several times when I was on time and groomed your dog in your home you were extremely happy with my ability to handle your very difficult dog.

We used Angel Pet Sitters multiple times over the past two years and were never fully satisfied. In August 2012 we were in California and received a call from the alarm company because the pet sitter set off the alarm, although they had the code. The owner was not available to help the pet sitter so we had to have the alarm company download the alarm cancellation, which took a while and cost us $30. Since we have a monitored alarm service, we noted during Thanksgiving that the pet sitter stayed less than the 15 minutes paid for. When we asked the owner, she said there were issues with our cat box and the pet sitter did not want to stay- which is understandable but communication would have solved that problem proactively, not throw that up as a defense when questioned about the service. We cancelled the service and asked for the return of our key, along with the $30 alarm fee which was never applied as a credit to our account. I had to remind the owner several times about returning the key.

This client would leave the litter box FULL of several days of waste from FOUR cats for us to clean when they went out of town. We ask our clients to please leave a clean litter box when they leave for a trip. The home smelled horrendous, and the amonia smell in the litter box was difficult for the sitter to tolerate for five minutes much less fifteen. We did what was requested, we scooped the litter box and fed the cats. If the home was more accommodating we would have been happy to stay longer and we often do stay more than the alotted time for many of our clients. We are very sorry it took us so long to return your key and give you a refund. As I recall you told me you had been through several other sitters before Angel Pets. I hope you do finally find one that is more accommodating for your unusual needs.

Naturally, my cat does not like to get shaved, so his behavior was quite bad. However, he has been groomed (both brushed out and shaved) many times before at numerous places. I was always very happy with the end result, but due to the inconvenience of the other places I decided to go the route where the groomer comes to you. I was not present during the service, but my boyfriend was there the entire time. Like I mentioned earlier my cat isn't the easiest to deal with but I do expect some type of quality. When I spoke to Tiffany on the phone she assured me she had groomed cats before. Honestly, this and quot;lion cutand quot; is the worse cut I have ever seen. The hair is so uneven and his and quot;maneand quot; is horrifying. Not only is the haircut horrible and he looks ridiculous, but they also punctured his skin underneath his arm (a flap of skin is hanging) and left without informing us. If the quality is only due to his behavior then they should have stopped and informed me that they would not be able to continue. Although the quality was so low, I do want to mention that they did treat the cat well and were very understanding of his behavior. I am not judging their character, only their quality of service. Additionally, I gave them a C on price due to the quality for the cost. I am in shock that I spent $100+tip for this type of haircut.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I appreciate your honesty. It is a fact your cat was extremely difficult and normally I would halt the groom due to his behavior but since your boyfriend was present and in fact helped us hold your cat still to finish the job, I was under the impression he wanted it completed regardless of the outcome or stress caused to your cat. It is a fact that when animals are wiggling alot that they are more likely to have an injury. I was aware that I may have knicked his underarm with the clippers and when I bathed him I looked for an injury because the water will typically cause the blood to flow so I can see the injury and apply styptic powder to stop bleeding and help healing. I didnot see any bleeding at all when I bathed him. I have always informed my client when there was an injury to their pet which does not happen very often. I did not see an injury on your cat and for that I am very sorry. I can understand how upset it makes you feel. The reason his haircut is uneven is because he was wiggling so badly that I did choose not to go over him a second time to even the cut, so in that respect I did end the groom early due to his behavior and the stress he was experiencing and the injury caused to my assistant who was scratched and bitten very badly 3-4 times. The fact that he was wiggly ALOT and also trying to bite us is the reason why his face and mane looks bad as well. In a grooming salon when you are not present to watch as your boyfriend did when I groomed- your cat is probably being held down by several people in order to accomplish a more even shave and the correct shape of the mane. It may be that that experience and rough handling at a salon where no owner is present to watch how the pet is handled has been very traumatic for him and that may be why he behaves the way he does. I interned at a salon to learn to groom and they were hitting the pets who misbehaved!! (Of course I walked out and reported them). I believe that if I do him several more times he will behave better for me. I feel it may have also been a mistake to bring my assistant to help and train. She is not as confident as I and your cat may have sensed that making him try harder to escape her hold. When I groom alone it is rare for a cat to be so difficult as they sense that I am dominant and not going to let them escape because my hold on them is very confident and strong but gentle too. My assistant kept letting go of his scruff and so he felt he could get away which makes him wiggle alot more. Please forgive me for that mistake too. I have spoken to her about it. If you give me another chance I will give you a discount on the service in order to keep you as a client. At your next appointment I will give you a $30 discount for a lion cut and bath making it $70 total. I will also come back for free next week and go over your cat another time to even the cut on the body while you help me hold and sooth him so he is not so scared and hopefully less wiggly. My one last comment is that your cat was also scared by the maid using the vaccum nearby. Every time she turned it on he started trying to escape even more and I could tell it was scaring him. I should have told her to stop vaccuming while I groomed - I am sorry I did not do that. If you would like to call references of other cats I Lion Cut I would be happy to provide you with their phone numbers so you can hear from others who have been very happy with my service.
