"I am very sorry there was a misunderstanding. What we gave you was an estimate, not a quote, based on the very detailed information we received from your tenant............................... We tried many times to coordinate with your tenant, at your request. He did not answer and would not return our calls. We were more than willing to send a technician out for an assessment and trouble shooting but your tenant was not communicating with us for scheduling. We continued to reach out to him. When we finally talked to him by phone, we listened to the details he gave and Billy was able to make an assessment by the symptoms your tenant described. Being a Master Electrician with nearly 30 years experience and being familiar with the homes in that area, he was able to determine there was likely an overload issue, based on a discussion with your tenant............................................... There was no point in charging you for a trip out, when we were able to give a verbal estimate. We also learned from your tenant that another local company went out and gave an estimate and recommended the same repairs. When he told us the estimate amount, we said it was a fair price and suggested using them if they were able to get out sooner than we could, as we were experiencing a pretty busy time helping many homeowner who were recovering from Harvey flood damage................................................ We are not "unscrupulous" nor do we "prey on homeowners", or take advantage of those affected by a major disaster. We have family members who were affected by Harvey and we understand the devastation. Fortunately your situation was in no way related to Harvey. It was due to the age of the home and the circuits not being able to handle the appliance load. We have provided service for many people in and around the Friendswood area with flood damaged homes and our service and repair rates have not increased in any way since the disaster. As a matter of fact, right after Harvey, we decided we would not charge any overtime rates on any flood related damages even when we were working 7 days a week, with no weekends off for a period of time................. I am really sorry our effort to give you a free verbal estimate was misunderstood as a high quote. I wish we had been given a chance to show you what good service we provide. I believe there was a misunderstanding, possibly complicated by communicating through a tenant. I do hope you were able to get the issues resolved for your tenant...............................
