This was a $99 big deal purchase. It was all good except they never did deliver a written report like they said they would in the deal. They came, looked and talked with me about it. I called him back and they just never have provided the written report. They came out pretty soon after I bought the deal. There was not any extra charges. He said it did not look like it needed anything and that there was no problem. They did not follow through. If they would provide any paperwork I would increase the overall grade to an A. On the big deal it was a very good price. It was good if they would have done the whole thing. Their responsiveness was poor. Their punctuality was good; he was on time.
to do it. Very professional and I found
out that what he provided in the inspection turned out absolutely correct. Great job and I would recommend them to
anyone who needs to have their foundation inspected/repaired.
Our home is structurally sound again, and that makes a wonderful difference in our feelings, and we thank Gary for sending a good crew to take care of our foundation issues.
They completed leveling the house, and it appears to be much more level than it was. I don't really know...Mr. Coffing never came back to check on the job. He never came and did repeat measurements. If he would have answered our calls, we would have known he had no intention of doing so.
The morning after they finished we had to make an emergency trip to Buffalo, NY to take care of my father in law. We were gone almost a month.
When we got back in town and amp; we immediately noticed the main bathroom was non-functional. The toilet would not drain, the bathtub would not drain, and the sink wouldn't either. We rented a drain snake twice to try and clear it out. Both times we got thick mud. My husband then used a screwdriver to remove the concrete patch over the drain and septic. We found where they had cut the main sewer pipe, stuffed it with mud and dumped all the concrete from the patio in our septic system. I wandered to the back of our back yard and found the septic cover, hidden with some leaves.
We called Mr. Coffing repeatedly. After 5 or 6 calls, he finally returned our phone call. He basically blew us off, saying it wasn't his problem and amp; I had to deal with it on my own. I told him the workers were instructed to leave the septic alone, that it was functional, but he said he didn't care. He claims his workers told us about it and told us to destroy it. That's a mistruth on his part. It wound up that we had to repair it on our own, to the cost of $8,000.00.
If you value your money, do not use this guy. He cannot be trusted. His workers are liars. He refuses to listen to his customers is a very poor businessman. He does not check on his workers, or check their work. He does not come back to make sure the work is done right either.
"As a "2012" Super Service Award winner, it is difficult to accept this comment as credible and even more difficult to respond to. I don't intend to sound sarcastic or condescending in any way as our customers legitimate concerns are our concerns. This response is an effort to defend our reputation from an unreasonable request. The customer and I have already had this conversation in Dec.of 2012. For the Angie's List patrons who are reading this, we always respond to our customers concerns promptly. Our crews are well trained and professionally supervised by English speaking superintendents. I can't personally supervise every job any more than Ronald McDonald the clown can prepare every hamburger McDonald's sells. With that being said, here are the facts. We do not dig access holes in the middle of peoples yards. We dig these holes within a few feet of the foundation where we are installing piers. If you have a septic system, the tank is required to be located a minimum distance from your structure. If we hit the tank during our excavation, your tank is not the legal distance from the foundation. It is either too close or under your foundation. The customer was notified when the tank was discovered. We asked the homeowner's for guidance in how this situation was to be handled. My crew assures me that they were told that it was of no concern to the customer as they were on City sewer. Our crew would never cover up a line without the customer knowing and authorizing them to do so. Upon the customers return from their trip, they discovered that not all of the house and it's additions were connected to the City sewer and the tank in the back was active. The $8,000.00 that was spent was to move the illegally located tank to a safe distance from the foundation. It was not the cost of repairing negligent damage they have claimed my men caused. Our contract is rather clear. We are not responsible for damage to lines that we could not have known were there, let alone a septic tank that should not have been there. I am sorry that they had to move the septic system, however that is not an expense we should be forced to bare. In all of our contracts there is an arbitration agreement that is signed by both parties so that the customer can initiate a mediation for free should they not be satisfied with our resolution of their concern. This service should have been utilized prior to damaging our reputation on a public forum such as Angie's List."
"Thank you for your second review of our company. We actually did the work the second week of October 2012 and went back at your request to re-do the pea-gravel patch the first week of November. Given the amount of work we have scheduled, that is a speedy response time. We serviced your job from our Canyon Lake office as you are located in Garden Ridge, not from our Houston office. We are a busy company and I delegate work to our crews as I can't run a company that serves most major cities in Texas and personally supervise each job. Once concrete, or in your case, pea-gravel has been penetrated, it is impossible to match the color and texture of the original pour when patching it back. Thank you for your business and we regret that you were not completely satisfied with our performance. We have initiated a new procedure which explains in more detail what a customer can expect when concrete surfaces have been disturbed in an effort to avoid having this type of disappointment from future customers."
-if you were to walk into the house today you would not see any hairline cracks around the windows or doors,
-the floors remain straight and level as they were when the work was completed,
-the few times since last year that foundation work has come-up in conversation,
-I have without hesitation recommended Mr. Coffing and company.

I decided to have the foundation repaired. Mr Coffing’s work crew arrived as scheduled and completed the work timely. The leader of the crew was extremely polite and was very careful not to get any dirt in the house. After they dug the holes he came to the door and invited me outside to show me where the house was unlevel and then again to show me the difference after they installed the piers. He also showed me how the cracks in the walls had closed up. When the crew took a break for lunch the crew leader again came to the door to tell me that they were breaking for lunch so I would know why they weren’t working. He was very professional. The crew left the yard very neat and level. After the work was completed a State registered Engineer met me at the house and showed me the readings and confirmed they were within allowable levels. Mr Coffing then sent me his lifetime warranty for the work.
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have a standing policy that our representative failed to follow in this isolated event. "If it becomes obvious that we are going to be more than 5 minutes late to an appointment, we are to call the customer to advise and offer to reschedule if they would prefer". As a Super Service Award recipient, we are proud that this was the first time in recent memory where our policy was not followed as you have made it quite clear that there are serious repercussions to our company's reputation when they are not. Our representative has apologized to you. Please allow me to apologize publicly to you for any inconvenience that has been caused you by his lack of consideration for your time."
