Dr. Darlene White has taken care of my many dogs and cats for over 25 years. Over that time, there have been many out of the ordinary, critical and difficult health issues. I trust her implicitly and there is no one instinctively smart, more empathetic, and truthful. Unfortunately, euthanasia has been needed at times when nature wasn't as timely and merciful as was needed. In those most difficult of times, Dr. White is very compassionate and caring for the pet owner, but more importantly, so tender, patient, and present for the sick animal. There is no one better or kinder. She will encourage necessary diagnostic testing, however, she is respectful of customers' various financial capacities.

Bottom-line: Our ignorance and the very nice veterinarian's enthusiasm for tests led to a >$400 wellness visit. BE CAREFUL! We just moved to Chattanooga, so we chose to take our two dogs to the vet while both were mostly healthy, but at a time when each had a minor issue to investigate. We did not realize that we should ask about the charge for each and every suggested test that the Vet made. She and her assistant were incredibly nice, but their service was not worth $428. The end result was to learn that our two dogs were generally healthy, one could benefit from occasional arthritis meds and the other had a sprained tail. That was exactly our non-professional opinion before we went and again, the only reason we went at all was in the hopes of doing a quick $60 each to check them and establish a relationship with a vet. They did almost $300 worth of other checks without giving us any idea what those checks would cost and we were fools to not ask.

We scheduled each dog separately so that I wouldn't have to struggle by bringing all of them in at once. I took our 4 year old German Shepherd first because he was the biggest and strongest of the three dogs. As soon as I arrived, they greeted me at the door and helped me gain control of him. It was amazing! Within the first fifteen minutes with Jeff, I couldn't believe that the dog he had at the end of the leash was my dog! It was the same case with the English Bulldog and the German Shepherd mix.
Each dog needed different levels of training and each one of them has done amazing. Jeff and his wife, Lesley, are so friendly and kind. They understand every situation and help you with your dogs needs. They have even come to the house to watch the dogs in their home environment.
My house is totally different now...In a good way! We are still continuing our training beyond basic obedience with our German Shepherd. We have even boarding the dogs there too. Our dogs get special treatment and everyone there love on them. It makes me feel so much better leaving them when I know that they are being taken care of in such a loving manner! I would recommend them for every training situation or any boarding needs.

I have tried a number of other facilities to board my dogs. Once I found Happy Hounds and Sarah Manser, I will never take my dogs anywhere else! The short and sweet of it is that Sarah takes care of my babies just as I do. They get plenty of exercise and attention, and her kennels are big, roomy, and clean. I especially like the effort Sarah makes to get all of her four-paw'ed "guests" outside and playing.
I live almost an HOUR away from Happy Hounds, but still, I wouldn't consider using another kennel for short OR long stays. Happy Hounds is also very fairly priced!

TOP DAWG GROOMINGI was anxious about having my newly adopted dogs bathed. To my knowledge, they had only had 2 baths in all their 8 years (and those were after they were surrendered to the Humane Society). But when I picked them up, they were perfectly happy and I was told they did great. So they were well taken care of. And their fur was so soft! PetcoThe cost depends on how furry the animal is and how much work they have to do. It's generally not more than $50.00. They have other dogs that they work on at the same time. We just drop her off and they get to her when they can. Then they call me when she's finished. The groomer that I always request is amazing. Our pet doesn't tremble or anything, so she likes her. Aqua Dog Grooming Etc.I have used this groomer three times for both my dogs, a wheaten terrier and a lhasa apso. I was very pleased with the outcome for both dogs. I really appreciate the extra touches Lana does for my girls.. A flower added to a harness.. Feathers braided into a tiny lock of hair at the ear.. once my lhasa had a necktie that was decorative, green and navy with a green ' chrysanthemum' at the throat... My lhasa preened and strutted for days.. She evidently believed it made her more queenly than she had previously been. :-) Both dogs were very well groomed, smelled fantastic and were happy and in good spirits when I picked them up. Pick of the Litter Grooming by RikkiI called Ricki the DAY BEFORE we left for vacation and she worked our schnauzer, Sebastian, in her schedule. She and her staff were very pleasant and you could tell they LOVED dogs. I described the way I wanted him cut and 3 hours later picked up the most beautiful little schnauzer you have ever seen! I am delighted to find this kind of quality grooming so close to home. I will most definitely be returning for Sebastian's next grooming!!- Daryl P.

Pick of the Litter Grooming by RikkiI am extremely satisfied with the service and experience that I and my dog received. I had just adopted a 6 yr old boxer mix 3 days prior and Rikki was so helpful to work with my schedule. She requested that she have enough time to play with him beforehand and did not seem concerned at all that I knew so little about his behaviors since I had not had him long. She gave me a full report when I picked him up, suggested brushes and recommended how often I should have him bathed. Buddy was so comfortable there that he fell asleep during his facial! I felt she truly cares about the "customer", and Buddy will definitely be a repeat "customer".- Donna H.

K-9 Tub TimeThis was the first visit to the groomer for my two long haired dachshunds. They needed serious tangles to be removed before their bath. The groomer took her time with them as it was their first time. She did not rush the dogs and allowed them to adjust to the shaver and the different noises at the shop. I returned to two beautifully groomed dogs. The charge was $45.00 per dog and it was well worth every penny. The dogs seemed to really enjoy the experience.- Pat G.
