Easy repair and prompt service

The issue was solved

Our washing machine was making a bad screech when it would stop at the end of a cycle. Nick advised that the amount of labor required to reach the actual brakes themselves would not be a worthwhile investment considering the age of the machine. Since the machine still worked otherwise, his advice was to keep using it as long as we could put up with the noise because we weren't doing any serious damage to the unit by continuing to use it. We were also having a problem with the spin cycle not getting enough water out of the clothes (we would have to run the spin cycle twice so the clothes wouldn't be dripping water before we put them in the dryer). Nick performed some maintenance on the pulley system and now the clothes don't require a second cycle before going into the dryer.

S&S did not repair Fischer & Paykel products.

He fixed what needed to be fixed. He was very very nice man and couldn’t have been nicer. He came out within 2 days of me calling him and it made it convenient for me even if it wasn't for him. It was one of the few times I had used Angie's List and was extremely pleased with the results. This was the first time I had used this company and would recommend them to anyone in need of service

Nick from S&S Appliance arrived very promptly and was extremely professional and efficient. He also seemed very knowledgable about his work and product. I think he found the issue in our refrigerator in less than 5 minutes. I was very impressed at how responsive and accommodating Nick was to be able to come to our home within 24 hours of our non-emergency repair. Nick spotted the problem immediately and did his best to fix the issue simply and quickly without giving us any sort of run around on parts or fixes that were more than we really needed. I appreciated his candor and experience. This was our first call to S&S for apppliance repair, and I am confident it won't be our last. I'll be happy to recommend Nick to neighbors and friends.

After not receiving return phone calls from two other companies on Angie's list, I turned to S&S Appliances. My call was returned within 5 minutes and Nick was at our house within two hours. Nick was pleasant, professional, and efficient. He evaluated the problem, explained what needed to be done, performed the work quickly, and even took the time to clean behind the refrigerator for me (huge bonus points for this small step!!). I would highly recommend Nick and S&S Appliances and will definitely use them again.

Overall, I was very pleased with the service and felt bad that it took longer than anticipated but the owner stayed until the job was completed. I was very impressed with the repairman because his phone kept ringing, he did not answer the phone but rather took the phone to his truck so he could focus on the task at hand.

Nick arrived at the time he called and said. Proceeded to fix the problem by switching the one burner that was broken and made it possible to use the other 3. The speed and professionalism of his work simply amazes me. No doubt that I will call when other problems arise. Thanks again Nick. I've had Nick out here before to fix my washing machine (found him on Shopkick & he's a neighbor) and all of a sudden it was leaking again -- this time into the garage..... I left a msg last night shortly after 8pm & he called this AM @ 11 to say he was on his way over. He checked everything out twice ~ couldn't find anything wrong, so put everything away, gathered his tools & said "have a nice day!" When I asked him how much - he said NOTHING ~ he hadn't been there long enough! He's such a great guy -- I will definitely use him for any appliance repair in the future as well as suggest him to others. Thanks Nick!!!

We did our research on Angie's List having had success with other service companies we had used from here in the past. We choose S & S because they were a local company, had good feedback from past custromers and the slam dunk was the 50% off coupon for Angies List members on all repairs. My wife called S & S this morning and the service person was out in less than two hours. He was polite, punctual and explained the repair he reccommended. Which we chose to have done. He cleaned up after he was thru. We are very happy with the service we received and highly reccommend them to anyone.

My refrigerator kept becoming "warm." I tried to fix it myself by defrosting it, which would fix it for a little while, but then it would start up again. After the second defrost, I called S&S. He came the next day, as I recall. But since I had JUST defrosted it, it was working fine, so he asked me to have him come back when it was actually warming up, so he could see the problem in action. He charged me the service call charge but told me that he would not charge me a service call if he came back for the same problem. A few days later, the problem resurfaced. I called -- he came quickly -- diagnosed the problem (now I don't remember just what was needed, as I delayed a couple of months in filling this), replaced two parts, and it's run like a charm ever since. Our fridge is about 12 years old, but he said it's a great unit and should last a long time yet. I thought he was great. My only beef was that he did pull the fridge away from the wall before I took everything off the top -- and I should have had it all removed, but didn't; we use the top of the fridge to put things like platters and carafes -- and a platter fell and shattered. Ah, well.

I am very impressed with the quality of the service I received from Nick. Right from the first phone conversation, he impressed me with his honesty by making sure that he was able to actually repair the type of washing machine I have at the townhouse before agreeing to make the appointment for the service. He went out there and found the machine to be operating properly. He answered all my tenant's questions and then called me to give me an update after the service call. I will definitely not hesitate to call Nick again for future service repairs!

I appreciated the repairman's honesty and pleasant willingness to discuss the whole machine (drier as well) and how to proceed to get a new washer/dryer that will fit in my enclosure.

Making an appointment with Nick was quick and easy. He called when he was on his way and arrived when promised. Before even getting started on the repairs Nick realized that a shelving unit near the refrigerator was unstable and took the time to stabilize it by drilling it securely to the wall. What a great start! He identified the problem with the refrigerator, had the part he needed in his truck, and made the necessary repairs. He was courteous and friendly, even to my overly-friendly dog. A great experience. We will definitely use Nick again if needed and will recommend him to friends and neighbors.

It was done quickly and conveniently. I will never buy a Maytag again.

This was by far one of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had with a repairman <smile>. Kind, courteous, punctual, and friendly. One of my very first thoughts was "wow! a nice repairman who just wants to help me fix the problem." He found the problem very quickly with my gas dryer (it wasn't heating), and fixed it quickly without any drama or suggestions for additional work. He even checked with me to be certain I knew there was a coupon available on angieslist for use. I will definitely use this service again for any large appliance repair I have (washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator), and would highly recommend it (him) to others.
