They responded quickly to my call and an employee came out within a few days to give an estimate. Matt actually came out after that to review the estimate and give a better idea of what they would do. The work was scheduled within a couple of weeks (they could have done it sooner but we were away for vacation). Ronnie, the project leader, was very approachable and responsive. I asked him to make some adjustments to the design to accommodate the possibility that we may be digging for a pool in the next year or 2 and he had no problem with that. He even drew a sketch with measurements off the house so we know where the lines end. The actual work went fine, took about 3 days. They cleaned up after themselves, hauled all the dirt away and laid out grass seed. Overall I was very please and will definitely be calling them for any plumbing needs in the future.

Called for sewer not working. Prompt service. Determined that sewer line had failed in the driveway and into the garage. Replaced all damaged line. While the work was messy it was done in a timely and professional manner. Cres cleaned up each day.

They did a great job - the only thing I was disappointed about was that they were over an hour late and didn't call to say they were going to be late. I was supposed to be the first appointment. After an hour had passed, I called the office. The secretary, who was very responsive, contacted them to find out what happened. They had an emergency call and went out to that before my appointment. Overall, the service was good and the price was reasonable as far as I know - this is the first time I have had a plumber in my house. I am a newer home owner. They cleaned up after they were done working. I would use them again,

My experience was poor from the start, when the window for them to get here was almost over, I got a call saying the plumber would be late. When they arrived, they used a camera to look in the pipe and couldn't see anything, so they tried to snake the pipe. The snake they used was a small one (like you would use in a toilet), and the pipe is 4 inch ABS. After trying for no more than 10 minutes on either end, the plumber told me that he would need to bring the water jetter back the next day and it would cost me $499 (minus the $89 fee for snaking). After seeing the little amount of effort put forth with the snake, I decided against paying the money for water jetting (and when I got quotes from other companies, I realized that Matt Mertz's fee was way too high).

The service technician called and texted in a timely fashion to let us know in advance when he would be arriving. He was actually able to come earlier than expected which was helpful to our schedule. The technician, Joe Blume, introduced himself and put on plastic booties before proceeding into the house. He immediately got to snaking the drain. A large clump was found at 60 feet from the drain cover. The clump was discovered to be flushable (but non-biodegradable!!) toilet cleanser wipes. He advised that nothing other than standard toilet paper go down the drain. (This is a college rental home.) Even though this clump of wipes was determined to be the source of the drain clog, he recommended a further investigation with a camera down the drain line. I questioned if this would be at an additional cost and he said no. Since he was there, it made sense to double check for any other potential source for the drain clog. Although there were no breaks in the pipes, he indicated some rough spots in the piping.that could be the potential areas for snaggging and collecting the debis. He suggested an enzyme treatment. Overall, Joe was professional, offered concern for our situation and provided solutions. I felt the $89.00 service charge was very reasonable. Mertz Plumbing comes highly recommended from me who considers herself to be a well qualified to-it-yourselfer (my preference was not to deal with sewage) and a perfectionist! Will absolutely use again if there is a need.

Setting up the appointment was extremely easy. They called back an hour after I left a message and setup the meeting and called me the day before to confirm the meeting. On the day of the operation, the representative arrived on time and went right to work. I did not have to intervene at all and after he was done, he provided me with a DVD showing the video footage of the sewer camera for my own records. He was able to provide some suggestions for next steps because part of our drain was blocked and also showed me competitive pricing for the same operation by other companies. He was extremely helpful and professional and I will definitely contact them in the future for service.

When the plumber didn't show I called my contractor who informed my that he had just been contacted and that Matt Mertz Plumbing was not coming today at 8 AM. It was now 8:20 am. When I called the office in Ingomar I was informed due to the rain they could not work. This makes no sense, since Jim the actual plumber said he wanted to work inside to get those tasks done so that he could come back anytime to finish the outside work. Whether I was there or not. At this point Lisa, who I was told is the office manager told me that was not true, since its not on her work order that way. Customer isn't always right I guess. Especially when the plumber told me how he wanted to proceed and I planned and made arrangements that way. I then asked her "What the h*** do I tell my boss when he has to rearrange the work schedule again to accommodate me due to this mess up? She then told me I sweared at her and she would not work for me and find another plumber. Click! Dear Lisa, Might I remind you that H*** is in the Bible. There are a few other choice words in the Bible that I would like to say to you but you might melt if you heard them. What a business.

I found a small amount of water on my basement floor and concluded that hot water heater was slowly leaking. I was told that they keep 40 gallon how waters in stock and that they could send out the next day. I was happy to hear this, as I had tried unsuccessfully to reach another plumbing company that did not return my calls for several days. I was inquired about the special listed on Angie?s List that advertised a hot water tank replacement for $550, and was told that they were still honoring this deal. The next day two plumbers arrived in the window during the afternoon as promised. However, I did get some negative feedback from one of the plumbers who was told that the location of the hot water tank was easy access. I am not sure why they were told my basement was easy access, but it is not. They only way into the basement is one set of steps. The basement also does not have a drain in the floor, as I suspect that the previous owner covered the drain with tile. One plumber also provided some negative feedback regarding no floor drain, as he was going to have to drain the old water heater with a bucket, five gallons at a time. As a result, they were not able to honor the $550 special and would need to charge me for an hour of labor because of the labor involved in draining the old tank, and the labor involved in removing the old tank up a set of steps through the house. This process was clearly a two person job, as it would take two people to get the old hot water tank up the basement steps. On a positive note, this discussion took place before any work was done. I appreciate that I had the opportunity to decline and would not be surprised by the final bill. They were also upfront would the costs would be for the new hot water tank, and the one hour of labor. I decided that since I was going to be paying for an hour of labor to also have two values replaced as well. Once I agreed to the costs the men got to work. They also asked me if they could use several rags and other buckets before they did so. I agreed, so that they could work faster and would not have to keep going back and forth to their truck. The second plumber was very friendly and answered all my questions. I was also pleased that they installed what I believe is a high quality hot water tank that is made in the USA that appears to be more energy efficient than the old one. The final bill was the $825 that I agreed at the beginning of the encounter. Overall it was a positive experience. However, I would recommend that other members ask further questions about the advertised special and any labor charged that not covered.

Went very well indeed! Jack called when he was leaving the shop to let me know he was on the way, he took a careful look at each problem then went out to his truck for the tools he needed and got right to work. Jack also took time to listen to my questions about future work that will need to be done and to explain what each would involve. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and patient.

Sewage had been backing up into our basement for several months. We had plumbers out monthly to unclog the pipes. Matt Mertz Plumbing came out, put a camera in and told us that our pipes needed to be replaced (90 year old house with cast iron pipes). They gave us an estimate and started work 2 days later. The work took 2 weeks to complete as our pipes were pretty deep and we had 10 stacks. They moved all the furniture and stored stuff out of the way (1500 sq ft basement), covered it and cleaned up every day. They were professional, meticulous and courteous. The work was grueling for the guys. In addition, they helped us submit an insurance claim to our homeowners to cover part of the cost. I would definitely use them again, big or small job.

The technician was very professional. He arrived in the given time window and called ahead to make sure I was home. He was respectful of my house in terms of using "footsies" over his boots so he wouldn't get my hardwood floors dirty. He explained the "workings" of the sink and how to avoid blockages in the future by preventative maintenance. He also checked outside to ensure there was no problems with the main line. I would certainly ask for Joe Blume if I had additional plumbing problems in the future. A+

It went extremely well. I was very satisfied with them. They were very professional. They did everything they said they would do. I would definitely use them again.

Two workers showed up as scheduled. They did not listen to our description of the problem and barely looked at the issue before deciding we would need extensive and expensive work. Even when it was pointed out that the issue was in a different area they were unwilling to listen. They then charged us 135.00 just for the estimate - even after doing nothing.

Matt Mertz Pumbing responded to my message quickly and the appointment was set up for two days later. The work was done in a reasonable period of time and the cost was appropriate. I will use them in the future.

This is the second time I've used this company and it will be the only plumbing company I use in the future. They are prompt, and explain everything. When you call to set up an appointment you get a 'real' person answering the phone and she is knowledgeable and very helpful. The first time I used them was for a toilet that was leaking and recently, when turning on the water to an outdoor faucet, I realized a pipe had broken in the wall. This was repaired and in both instances their workers were very professional.

The guys came to check a problem we were having with our sewer pipe only to determine that our terracotta pipes were broken and roots were growing inside. They replaced all the sewer lines inside the garage and basement (the pipe ran to 4 different stacks) and then also replaced the old terracotta from the house to the road. The price was competitive and the guys were very professional. They tried to keep the areas they were working in as clean as possible and also seeded the yard where it was dug up.

They list that they offer free estimate on the Angielist page, I called them and asked for an estimate, but was told that they charge $98 for coming out. False information.

He does a good job. He knew how to find the leak and did what needed to be done.

The plumber that worked for us was Jim. I forgot his last name. He was very courteous. He called me to ask if he could come earlier and that worked out great for me. He was very efficient and when he was done my furnace room was cleaner than before he got here. He had a very small area to work in since our furnace and hot water tank are in a separate room off the garage. I was so pleased to see all the water that leaked out was wiped up and the old tank taken away. I didn't get any other estimates but feel the price was reasonable. Any other plumbing work I need done will definitely be done by this plumber and company again. When I realized the tank had broke and water all over I didn't know who to call. We had Sears before, but I think they contract the work out and you don't know who will show up. I am lucky to get the little booklets from Angie's list every month. I picked one up and there was my answer. I was able to go online and check them out and read what others had to say. Very highly recommended and I was very pleased with the whole experience. Matt's crew is the best. He and they did everything he said he would do, and more. Several challenges were encountered during the trenchless sewer line repair. First, the line was about 20' longer than Matt could have estimated. Second, due to some material defects with the "balloon" used to cure the sleeve inside the drain, the "balloon" became stuck inside. To say that Matt and his crew had a great deal of difficulty removing it doesn't do justice to the time and effort they expended, but they finally got it done by using a backhoe to slowly extract the . I am certain the job ended up costing Matt more than he estimated, but he stood by his estimate. That is first class. The finish work (concrete replacement in the driveway) and other clean out work was performed to a very high standard. The drains in the home now work very, very well, whereas before I bought the house the bathtub, laundry tub, and sinks drained quite slowly.

It went great. I was given a window of 8am-12pm for the technician to show up and he was there pretty close to 8. He talked me through the options I had of solving the problem and was helpful at explaining the pros and cons of each. After we decided which way to go he made quick work of it. I had a few unrelated questions that he was willing to answer and explain.

Matt Mertz offered to do a complimentary video inspection while other plumbers were charging $250. He came out the morning after I had originally called him and was more than willing to give me all of the necessary information I needed to move forward with my sewer repair. He also gave a referral for a restoration company to come and remove the contents prior to the repair, which I hadn't even thought of. Matt Mertz was professional, prompt and detailed. He walked us through the entire process and his customer service representatives were friendly, accessible and knowledgeable. They came on the date stated and completed the project in a timely fashion just as they stated they would. Matt was always accessible and returned phone calls personally to answer any questions and worked his part of the project around my other contractor's schedules.
