About us

Hunter Funeral Home, Inc. is a full service funeral home and a trusted name in our industry since 1866. It is currently owned and operated by William C. Hunter and his daughter, Kate Hunter, fifth and sixth generation funeral directors licensed by the PA Department of State. In addition to traditional funerals, we offer cremation services, all merchandise related to funerals including caskets, outer burial containers, clothing, and cremation urns. We offer funeral planning and preneed funding through Forethought Life Insurance Company. Both directors are licensed by the PA Department of Insurance and are experts in preneed planning. We also own and operate Noah's Ark Pet Cremation, which is licensed by the PA Department of Agriculture, and we respectfully arrange for the cremation of family pets. Our pet cremation prices include transportation from the place of death to the pet crematory and delivery of the urn or container to your home. Hunter Funeral Home, Inc. accepts all major credit cards for funeral services or pet cremation.

Wonderful! Mr Hunter and family made a very difficult situation a lot easier with their professionalism and kind words. I would highly recommend them. I had a service for my mom at the funeral home and also have had several pets cremated. He is wonderful.

Hunter funeral services performed cremation services for my beloved cat. Mr Hunter was very prompt and showed up at my door in dress clothes to personally deliver my cat’s urn. It was beautiful and he was very very professional.

Our female cockatiel, Pumpkin, was with us for 14 years and was a large part of our family. When she died last Thursday, my wife and I were totally grief stricken.  We wanted to have her remains cremated so we could keep her with us. Last Friday, we took Pumpkin to Hunter Funeral Home and met with Mr. William Hunter. He treated us with dignity and Pumpkin's remains with respect.
 Mr. Hunter brought Pumpkin home to us yesterday, three days after we had left her in his care. Our home is thirteen miles from Mr. Hunter's funeral home.
Pumpkin's ashes are in the beautiful cherry wood urn that Mr. Hunter provided. It rests on our mantel.  We are at peace thanks to Hunter Funeral Home.

Mr. Hunter was prompt to pick up our pet at the vets office he called to see if we had very special requests-was very professional and was prompt in returning our pet. Once cremated. I would recommend this funeral home. I was wonderful!

Mr. Hunter offered to deliver my dog "Marty" home after the cremation. He was very compassionate and conforting. He explained the procedure in detail and was very thorough when answering my questions.

Had to put my dog down on August 15th.  Mr. Hunter picked her up from the vet's office that evening.  He had her cremated and delivered her to me the following week.  The service provided was impeccable.  And being that it was a horrible time for me, losing my beloved dog of 14 years, it was comforting to know that I didn't have to worry.  I knew a couple days ahead of time that she was goiing to have to be put down and immediately called Mr. Hunter.  He was recommended by our veternarian.  The phone was picked up immediately and the arrangements were made right then.  It was a great worry lifted.  And let me focus 100% on my last days with my dog.

When I called, Mr. Hunter was so caring and understanding. He was here within 1/2 hour to pick Zeus up and treated us both with such care and sympathy. I will never use anyone else for the care of my pets who have passed.
