They're awesome. I love those guys. They're my go-to mechanics. They're honest and their service hours are great. They're really helpful. They drove me back to the house. They would have come to get me if I needed them to come get my car. They're family-oriented and really service-friendly. It's a nice place. They're great guys. They do a nie job. They did what they said it's going to be.

I dropped off my car right shortly after returning from vacation as I could tell a bushing had broken. It's an older car, so I was expecting it may also need new struts. Tim and his group confirmed that and also did a once over of the car to make sure they thought it would be worth putting the money in to. They thought I'd get a few years out of it as they couldn't see any other issues. They recommended doing the shocks and struts as they had never been replaced and the car is a '98 Volvo with 130k + miles. Tim had noticed the ABS sensor was on after they did their work (it wasn't on before dropping it off) and said the sensor could be going which happens a lot in cars of my age. They said to just bring it back in if the ABS starting kicking in. Sure enough it did, so I took it back and they replaced the sensor at no charge. Great customer service as any other place I've gotten work done would likely have made me pay to get that done as well. All in all they were super professional and had great customer service, so I'll surely be having all my service done here from now on.

The 1st time I went there was because I had a flat tire on my Pathfinder and was on my way to work (2nd shift in the city). I was in a panic state and I only wanted my spare put on. That level of service is what kept me coming back and I recommended them to my friends as well. If I move back to the area i would most definitely have my car serviced by them again. By the way, he did not charge me for the tire change and i got to work on time!

I brought my cars to Havertown Tire and Service for many years. I miss not having a car to take to Tim and Russ. The HTS guys never made me feel, "like a stupid girl". They made me feel comfortable and have a great sense of humor.
My first car was a red 1990 Mazda 323 that had been the "training car" for all 5 of my husbands siblings. This car was so ugly that I left the doors unlocked and the windows down no matter what neighborhood I was in. I figured that if anyone chose this car to steal that car, they had to be really desperate. I was amazed that Tim and Russ could keep it running so well. I had it for 3 years, and only replaced it because it wasn't equipped to hold my infant car seat.
My next car was a 1998 Honda Accord LS. It was beautiful to look at, but I had no idea what I was doing when I bought it. I had it serviced several times at the Honda dealership, but they couldn't identify the source of the oil leak. It was the HTS guys who found the source of the leak and gently broke it to me that the repairs would cost more than I paid for the car because the engine would have to be removed and taken apart to replace the broken "thingy". When I took it back to Honda for a second opinion, they looked more carefully and confirmed that the HTS assessment was accurate.
The next car I got was a 2001 Suzuki Esteem. It wasn't fancy, but I loved it. It was cute, and got pretty good gas mileage. It was designed for car seats, and easy to park. Russ and Tim took great car of this car. I'm sure I would still have my Esteem, but it was totaled by an old driver in an old Buick.
I will bring my next car to HTS, as soon as we need a second car again.

Tim and Russ are the best auto guys I've ever worked with. Pleasant, punctual, reliable, and versatile. They've done a slew of work on my cars -- tires, brakes, inspections, radiator work, oil changes, alignments. Their prices are consistently better than the dealers and I can always rely on them for work done right.

It's a pleasure bringing your car in to them, knowing you'll get the right work done. A point worth mentioning -- I've brought my car in with issues, they have given my car a complete overview, and when finding nothing, charged nothing.

That's a kind of honesty so rarely found in auto repair shops, or anywhere!

I took my Volvo in to have a service message "Check Transmission Next Service" checked out. I had also had a couple of instances of problems getting the car to stay started. They said there were Volvo certified. I emailed Volvo, after the fact unfortunately. They are not. They told me before they could diagnose the problem, they would have to replace the alternator at a cost of over $600 - normal for a Volvo, they said. After that was done, they told me I needed a myriad of other things. The biggest charge was for new struts, which they said were "falling apart." I should say here that my normal mechanic, who was on vacation when this problem developed, told me that simply wasn't true. My favorite charge, however, was the $31 for new wipers. I paid $2600 and took my car home. It worked for a day and then died in a parking lot. I had it towed back to Havertown and they said it needed a new battery, which I had done for another $130. Two days later, the car was again dead in my driveway. I called Havertown Tire and Auto. They told me they could no longer help me and I should take it to a Volvo dealership. On top of that, they were actually rude when I complained that I had spent almost $3000 and my car was in worse shape than when I took it in.

Overall, it didn't go well. My car was not done when they told me it would be. I showed up at the garage and had to turn around and go home because it wasn't going to be done for a few more hours. The man working at the front desk was very rude when I asked him why it wasn't done. The price was good, and the tires were quality, but the service and professionalism was poor. The also tried to up sell other services, such as replace my air filters and a new battery connection.
