Service Provider Response
First, I would like to make it clear that we did not see this review until about a month ago when we were deciding whether to participate with Angie's List. So no, we did not terminate this patient because of a bad review. I take all reviews seriously and would try to rectify any issues as best as possible. This patient did not understand their insurance. We do participate which means that we do not bill for services that we agree to adjust inline with our participating insurance agreements. That said, unfortunately, this patient was quite out of line and hostile to our front desk staff. I have a wonderful staff and they are people who work very hard everyday with the public and do their very best to help patients understand and work with their insurance. When accusations are made because an individual doesn't comprehend their benefits, and reacts in a way that intimidates and disturbs our front staff, then that person needs to seek treatment in an office that is better able to suit their needs. That was the nature of this patient encounter.
