Daly Termite & Pest Management

I really liked them though the mice have not gone away completely. I am not sure if it's because of the change in weather or what. I have not contacted him as yet and so it's not his fault. He told me that we might have to do a second level again so it's not a criticism on him, its purely me not following in through. The workers were lovely, very polite and thorough. They set up a lot of different traps, explained what he was doing and why he was doing it and what we could expect. I have no complaints with them. If they come out a second time and still not be able to get rid of the rats then I might have something to say other wise I don't have anything negative to say. The price was very reasonable, they were worth it. I don't know what they are going to charge me for the second round.

Jim was great. He not only provided poison, but worked closely with a construction crew to find a hole in the foundation where rodents were entering my home. He later advised them on pest-proofing. He was a critical advisor on what was a very dirty and complex project. His fees were very reasonable.

They arrived exactly when they said they would (despite the fact that it was morning rush hour).  They explained all their services and products.  They will reach out to schedule appointments once a quarter and explained how to get in touch if I have concerns between treatment.  I love dealing with a local firm and getting to meet the owner.   I believe this is a beginning of a long and satisfying service relationship!

I called to make an appointment for an estimate on a Monday morning and several hours later, he was at our house dealing with our ant problem.  The service was prompt, professional, and reasonably priced.  I was pleasantly surprised to find an Angie's List discount!  It's been 24-hours since he sprayed and set out the ant traps, and I am amazed by how quickly the problem has diminished.  We were killing 40-50 ants per day and I think I saw 2 today!  We were told to wait a week for results, but I am pleased to report that we had results in 1 day!  He was also mindful of our pet cats, which was also a concern for us.  Overall, the service was excellent and we'd hire Daly Termite and Pest Management again!

He came, saw, conquered the mice.

I first called Daly Exterminating thinking I heard squirrels in my attic. On Mr. Daly's first visit he inspected the attic for evidence of squirrels but reported that he saw no specific evidence. He suspected it was mice and suggested that he put down some bait bags and come back in a week to see if bags were eaten and what type of markings were on the bags (squirrels would tear and mice would nibble!). He said this was a prudent way to begin, saving me the expense of putting in large traps for the squirrels which he would have to monitor often. On the second visit he determined I had mice and no evidnce of squirrels. (That prudent approach saved me perhaps hundreds of dollars!) He then proceeded to treat for mice very mindful of my request that he remember that I had an older cat who might get into bait that was exposed. (Too bad the cat was not much of a hunter or I would not have had mice to begin with) He devised a safe system of traps and the mice are no longer an issue. He will continue to maintain bait traps every few months. Thank you, Mr Daly!

Jim was very punctual (arrived early) and did everything he was supposed to. he recommended that we have a handyman come out to fill some bigger holes. I would use them again.

The work was done thoroughly, on time, and Jim's follow-up service was outstanding as well. In a world where there are far too few "genuine professionals," Jim and his team stand head and shoulders above the rest. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and recommend Daly Pest Control with my highest personal endorsement. Jim and his team are the real deal.

He was extremely punctual, kind and explained things very well. He was a very nice guy, no cons about him whatsoever. I would absolutely hire him and recommend him.

I'm on a contract; they come every month. The approximate cost is for the monthly service; they have other plans available. The service is always wonderful. They always go above and beyond the call of duty. The owners come out and do the work. I've recommended this company to my neighbor and I would highly recommend them for any pest control services. Overall, I'm satisfied with their services and I'll continue using them in the future.

After buying an older home with some termite activity seen, I called Daly and requested a quotation for a termite treatment and contract, although we still had a contract with another company that we had inherited from the seller of the house. Jim completely inspected all areas of our home and garage for termite damage and infestations and ultimately suggested that we didn't need a new treatment now because there were no active termites and our house was still covered by another company until 2011. Instead, he suggested that we talk with that company to find out when the last complete treatement was done and, when our contract expired with that company, if we still wanted to use Daly, when a new treatement was necessary (once/10years or so in this area), we could call anytime to obtain a quote and schedule the work. Jim is extremely knowledgeable and explained everything he did during the inspection. I was so impressed with the inspection and recommendation that I asked him to do a spider treatement, which is the subject of this report! A few days after the termite inspection, Jim returned and treated the house for spiders as noted. I asked him to treat the basement and attic both of which were not included in the original scope of the job. Adding these areas added only about $10 to the job. We are very happy with the results of the treatment and will be using Daly for any exterminating needs that we have in the future.

Jim evaluated the bug I found (ant drones, not termites, to my relief), inspected the basement and garage, and provided much education -- no charge. Nice guy.

Jim Daly provided excellent service. He and his team members were exceptionally professional, did a great job, cleaned up after the job, and were helpful in getting to access areas that needed treatment. They were not only skilled in their job, but great people to work with. He was able to accomodate our schedule needs and it was nice to work with a very qualified family owned and operated business.

We had what we thought was a termite problem become obvious a day before we were to leave on vacation. Jim came over THAT NIGHT, after hours, to take a look at the situation and let us know that, indeed, it was termites and that we should feel free to go on vacation and not worry about our house falling down. He came the day after we got back and did his thing. He explained everything in great detail and was fast and efficient. He always returns calls, even after the service is completed. And he's incredibly tolerant of our dog who likes to "help." Today the termites are gone and we'll definitely use him to do the follow-up in a year.

I had long-winged insects coming into my kitchen, dropping their wings on the floor, and going out again the way they came. I was pretty sure they were termites, so I did a search on Angie's List and called Daly Termite and Pest Management. Jim Daly came out the next day. On the advice of the woman who had scheduled my appointment, I had put some of the insects in a baggie for Jim to identify; sure enough, they were termites. He did a very thorough inspection of the relevant areas - my kitchen, basement, and back yard - and then gave me an estimate of $500 + tax to treat the outside perimeter of my house with Termidor. He explained exactly how he would go about applying the Termidor, how it would work to kill the colony, and why it would not pose a health risk to my cat (very important!). About a week later, Jim came back and treated the house. This basically involved drilling small holes along the front and back of the house, putting Termidor in the holes, packing them with newspaper, and covering the holes. The whole operation could hardly have gone more smoothly. Jim was able to get out to my house earlier than expected, completed the job in under two hours, and charged me exactly what he had said he would charge. He left the work areas cleaner than he found them. I recommend that anyone who has a pest problem in the Philadelphia area call Daly Termite and Pest immediately. Jim Daly is experienced, efficient, straightforward, and personable, and will not try to charge you an arm and a leg. That's a rare combination!

Very well. Jim Daly was responsive, prompt, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. I have lived in this house for 18 years, and this was the most thorough treatment we have ever received for termites.

Time will tell if the ant problem is under control. I expect that it will be fine from the reviews of his work. He was much more reasonably priced than other larger companies whose names are quite familiar. In fact, no one else would just come one time but wanted to charge for contract work. This was a good experience.

Left a message with Jim and he called me back the same evening. I told him I thought I had termites because they looked like ants with wings. I killed them with about a gallon of bug killer. (My husband called me "Chemical Ali." I guess I used too much.) I collected a sample of he little casualties and put them in a baggie. Jim came to my house the next day exactly at the time he told me he would be here. He told me that I do not have termites, but they are citronella ants. Jim said they probably won't come back and he did not charge me for the service call.

Mr. Daly answered his own phone and was able to get in here with only a few days notice. He was late his first appointment but called and was apologetic. He was very thorough, listened to me and answered a lot of questions from me. He tried to give me a discount from his normal rate but I already had the check made out so he said he would get it to me next time. His wife called a couple of weeks later to schedule the followup and he came out and did additional spraying and baiting at the time we wanted. The roach problem seems to be subsiding - his poison even managed to flush out and kill some ugly waterbugs we didn't know were in our basement.

Great. No problems with treatmet application or anything else.

It went very well. We played a bit of phone tag trying to make contact, but Jim called back promptly each time after I tried to reach him. He arrived at the scheduled time, even calling me when he was a couple of minutes away to alert me to his arrival. He had me show him around the areas where I had heard mice, and immediately noticed a bag of material in the garage that was providing a food source for the mice in the attic above. I put it in a container and swept out stray material while Jim put snap traps and poison packets in the attic and garage. He also placed some traps in the basement as there was some evidence of a mouse there too. After about a week I checked the traps and found 6 or 7 mice in them. A week later I found 2 more. I have not heard any noises from the attic in close to two weeks, and I believe my problem has been solved. Jim even called yesterday to follow up on the problem. My only suggestion for improvement is that Jim offer the use of humane (no-kill) traps as well as snap-traps. Since he does not come by to check the traps and deal with the caught mice anyway, the use of humane traps would not mean any more work for him. It would be up to the homeowner to release the caught mice. Besides this minor "complaint," I would recommend him highly and without hesitation. He is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable (and gave a discount for having found him through Angie's List).
