Description of Work: A large Norway maple in our backyard needed pruning and crown-cleaning. We also wanted the crown lifted to provide more sunlight for an adjacent rose garden. Urban Forest Pro quoted us a fair price for the job, did the work exactly as we wanted, identified other branches needing pruning and shaping, and even trimmed up a young locust tree in our front yard for no extra charge. They worked cleanly and left not a twig out of place when they were done. These folks are great, and we highly recommend them.

Description of Work: The crew came out at to our home and removed a double stem Douglas fir tree that was very close to our house and the neighbors.They worked very hard and did a professional job. They cleaned up after there job. We had them leave the cut up logs at the base of the tree for fire wood. A great crew!

After 30 years it looked like a monster from a halloween story, blocking the street light and entangling branches amount the wires. Over the years Pge had Asplund trim branches enough for wire safety, not for looks. The tree was topped many times by Asplund Company. We decided the tree was getting dangerous with heavy Large overhanging branches The team from Urban Forest Pro brought the tree down, cut wood up into 16"rounds in one day with great care and Know-how. They ground out the tree stump the next day. We were very pleased with the work and will be using them again for our heavy tree work.

Description of Work: They ground two stumps (one was a large Filbert stump, the other was a Cherry tree stump). They had big equipment for the large stump as well as smaller equipment for the small stump. The technician was conscientious about not tearing up the yard.

Description of Work: They pruned and shaped a flowering cherry tree and a maple tree in our yard. Our neighbers also has large tall cedar trees which were hanging over the fence in our yard closing out sunlight to our back yard. They removed the entire side of the cedar tree on the side of our yard. They took away a large amount of tree branches etc. especially the cedar tree. Our trees are perfect now and the cedar is cut way back where it should't overhang our property for several years.

Description of Work: I had a medium size maple tree taken out in the Spring by another company, which cut the tree down, hauled away the wood, and ground the stump for $300. I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for $99 to have $200 worth of tree service done. I assumed that I could get approximately the same amount of work done as the previous firm had done, as I only needed to either get a holly tree trimmed back or the alternative of getting medium size apple tree cut down (without stump grinding). They came out punctually at the appointed time, however quoted a $400 dollar minimum to come out and do any work. They quoted $400 to trim the holly and $400 to take down the apple tree, with a package price of $650 for the two. I declined as this appeared to be substantially more expensive than the previous company I had dealt with. I would not have purchased the Angie's List Big Deal if I had known that there was a $600 minimum service charge.. Angie's L:ist should make minimum charges clear on their Big Deals, as it would save some time and trouble for both the customer and the service provider. Unrealted to this I purchased two separate Angie's List Big Deals for electrical work. One company charged me an extra $80 for the county electrical permit to replace a light switch. The other company charged me $25 for the county electrical permit to replace two light fixtures which entailed a lot more work than the first company had done. If there is an extra charge involved in the Big Deal, it should be pointed out in the ad for the Big Deal. Obviously I let myself get overcharged by the first company for the "permit."

Description of Work: The estimator came out within a week of my calling and the estimate seemed reasonable on top of the Angie's list Big Deal so I told them to go ahead. After several weeks of not hearing from them again I e-mailed to find out what was the problem. The office person said that my file was put in the wrong pile. They them made and appoitment and came out and did the work I requested satisfactorily. I wrote a check for the remaining estimate. Then within a few days I received a bill for much more. It would appear that they had misplaced my file again as I was part of their big deal and they had not referenced this. Again I let them know that I had paid in full what was expected after the initial Angie's list dollars. the work was finally done as I requested but it appears that they have a problem between their office handling and their field people.

The fences were falling down rotting. The fencing contractors all told me that I should have the plum trees removed in order to replace the fence. Jeff came out and gave me an estimate on removing the plum trees and lifting and thinning the Dogwood. It included the grinding of the stumps to make it easier for the fence to be installed.
