Very professional. Rodrigo was very easy to work with. Responded promptly to all questions via phone/email/text. Price was far better than others so initially a bit nervous. However roof was installed in 2.5 days on a very complicated, multi-level roof with too many angles and valleys. Absolutely zero damage to any plants or the year. Crew was very professional. The roof is exactly what we wanted. Several neighbors saw the Nail It! truck during installation and have asked if I was satisfied with the job, I have told them we are indeed. I have already recommended Nail It! to several other people. I would not hesitate to hire them again. Overall A+.

Whoaaaa. I gave these customers a great deal mostly because they are very close by. And yes because it is a very small job it is not that easy to fit on the schedule but we got it done. It is sad to see unhappy customers.

Jose, Luis and Manny were reassuring with the information they provided, their diligence and expertise. They never quit working until they completed what we originally asked for and then when we added more to the job, they returned the following weekend to complete that part as well. They listened to our concerns, arrived with the necessary materials to repair damage from a recent storm. Our problem began with Mr. Quintanilla. When we did not receive a bill, we called and then followed up with an e-mail. We needed an estimate and then a final bill to submit to the insurance company for our claim to replace garden shed roof tiles blown off in February and March winds. We have yet to receive a final bill; the only bill sent listed the cost to replace only half the roof shingles. We called many times and spoke with Mr. Quintanilla; however it was strange that he quit answering our land line phone, but did answer our cellphone, but then when he quit answering that phone, we switched to a second cellphone, which he answered. He claimed that his e-mail didn't work, although we have an email from him claiming he left messages with the insurance agent twice. She states that he was rude to her. While his employees are top-notch, his customer service is sorely lacking: he doesn't follow directions and his bookkeeping falls short. Once he received our check in the mail, we lost all leverage with this man. We withdraw our recommendation of this business.
Description of Work: Jose and Luis on the first day and then Jose and Manny on the second day, replaced and repaired the roof of a large garden shed. They arrived on time, worked diligently and quietly removing remaining shingles, rotted underlayment, fascia board and soffit on a large garden shed. They built a protective cover for bushes close to the shed and cleaned up all extraneous building materials. They were professional, polite and experienced. We strongly recommend them.

Wonderfully. We had originally searched on Angies List for roofers, but then my sister in Bellevue, WA led us to Nail It ! due to a referral from her very good friend in Bellevue. The friend's mother here in Portland used them upon referral from her friends and had an excellent experience with them. So good, in fact, that several of her neighbors also used Nail It ! for replacing/repairing their roofs after watching the crew at work. Pedro and Rodrigo, owners of Roof It! are very prompt at responding to all phone calls with quick, accurate answers, prompt at dates, and very timely on the job. The estimate for our replacement was spot on as was the time needed for the job from start to completion. The crew worked very smoothly together and efficiently with lots of laughing heard, always a good sign. It made me smile to see Pedro working side by side up on the roof with his guys and impressed my husband. We can not say enough good things about them and would definitely recommend them to anyone. A VERY fair price for all the detail they put into the job!!!!!! God forbid, should we ever need anything further needed done to our roof, they are certainly our go to guys! Sincerely, Mark SandeR Sydney Anderson

Called Rodrigo based upon Angie's List rating. Made appointment to look at roof and make some repairs. We made an appointment for 8am on Friday, October 4. I waited around and he didn't show up or call to say whether he was going to be late. Called his office and left a message asking if I misunderstood our appointment time. He never returned the call. Unless Rodrigo is detained for health or family reasons, I would categorize him as a "Flake"!

It went great - right from the beginning Rodrigo was highly responsive - even though I was across the country and only communicating by email, he went right out to my house and looked at it, got me an estimate the next day, helped me provide the information he needed on shingle choice, etc. to prepare for the job. The estimate wasn't the lowest but it was very complete - and significantly less (by about $2000!) than one competing estimate. He provided speedy responses to all my questions and concerns and was very good about communicating scheduling and other details. He gave me an approximate date based on a large job just before - and when that job finished earlier he communicated clearly and was able to come earlier, while still respecting our desire to be on site when the job was done. The crew arrived in the early morning and got right to work taking the old roof off in only a few hours, and by the end of the day the roof was completely replaced - with only the gutters left for the following day. The crew was respectful and friendly, the crew manager Pedro checked in with us and made sure everything was as we had expected, and the job looks great and seems very solid. I recommend doing business with these guys - it was a pleasure.

showed up on time. Job turned out to be a bit more complex than anticipated and involved replacement of some roofing truses and much of the current decking, but the crew worked diligently and efficiently from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and to our surprise completed the project in total. They were polite, professional and did all that we asked them to do. Did a good job a clean up.

They do a really nice job. Rodrigo was the inital contact and we worked out the bid and materials I selected, and Pedro was on site as foreman with the crew. The crew was very efficient, neat, polite, and cleaned up as they worked - left no traces or mess. "Woodfeathers" delivered the shingles and did a remarkable job of safely backing into my driveway, avoiding a tree, overhead wires and neighbors' rose bush with their hoist - very safety conscious. I had a change in the ridgeline shingles - I decided to go for the High Definition rather than just the standard ridgeline, and Pedro had to make another trip to get the shingles I wanted, but they were very agreeable to the change with no extra charge. Also helpful that Rodrigo gave me addresses of houses with the roof shingles already installed, that I was interested in, that helped me make my decision rather than just looking at roof samples or brochures. Would hire again.

The work was performed promptly and courteously, and was lovely when done. They cleaned up fairly well and left our home and yard looking nice. After the work was done, we occasionally had a leak here or there in the gutters, and they were out within a week to fix anything that was awry. We are now in the process of selling our home, and when the inspection was carried out- it became clear that the chimney that was decommissioned needed to be there. It had been over 1 year, and yet the team was out within the week to make a functioning chimney to get our house to pass inspection. They stand by their work, and are courteous, kind and professional. It is a rare company who will so completely stand behind their work without reluctance or complaint. They are an excellent, easy to work with team. You'll be happy with their work, and with their commitment to customer satisfaction!

I have heard their advertising on KPOJ radio, so I thought I'd give them a try. These guys came in with the lowest bid, and they were great! When the finish wasn't quite what I expected, they came back almost immediately to satisfy my expectations. They accomplished all this without destroying any of my garden in the surrounding area. I was very impressed. I highly recommend them.

Rodrigo Quintanilla was very helpful in helping us decide what to use and provided us with a timely estimate. The job lasted about three days and his crew was on time each day and always pleasant and polite. They cleaned up very well each day and left nothing behind when they finished. This was the second time we have used Nail It and were just as pleased this time. We have recommend Nail It to a number of friends and they all have been extremely satisfied with the high quality of the work and the responsiveness of Rodrigo and his crew.

Other roofing contractor scheduled to show yesterday at 8:30 am called mid-morning telling me they could not make it (Friday) and would be there on Monday. I called Rodrigo at Nail It Roofing to see if they had an opening and he told me they would be there Saturday morning at 9:00. They showed up at 8:30 with shingles on truck , went to work, and were finished by 11:00. One of the roofers showed me that one of the pieces of plywood decking had warped under the tar paper keeping the weather out over the past several months during the construction, so I removed that piece and replaced it with a new one. They could just have easily not told me and shingled right over it. I appreciate their integrity. The work was done quickly, with clean-up as they worked. A very good job overall! I would recommend Nail It Roofing Co. to anybody needing a quality roofer.

They are on Angie's List and it was a bad experience. They just never showed up when they said they were going to and were hard to get hold of. They were not very friendly. I had a leaky roof and was behind them for two weeks and I finally had to forget about it. They would call and say that they would be over that evening to check it out and they would never show up and give some dumb excuse. It was just terrible and I was very disappointed. They never came here. They used the computer to make an estimate but they never came out. The estimate was quick and came within two days but they never came out and kept giving excuses, and finally, I was happy to get rid of them. We had a leak and we were going to have it repaired, but as time went on in trying to get them, I just decided to do a complete roof. I now have someone else doing it. They probably kept putting my repair job off for bigger jobs. I think he called me twice but I must have called him ten times. It was a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend them for anything.

We are very sorry that Member experience with us was not as he expected. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to accept a customer's bid price as he wanted to do. We have set costs and he did not like that. Once he finally agreed to the cost, we scheduled the job for the next Saturday. We had planned to stop by on Friday to check the color, but we got delayed on another job and it became dark, so we were unable to check colors. He was upset we couldn't get there on Friday, then canceled the job we set up with him the following day. We do try to schedule repairs and smaller jobs when we are in the area doing other jobs. It saves costs that we are able to pass on to our customers.

Rodrigo did an excellent job of evaluating the condition of our roof and providing alternatives for replacement. The sales process was low pressure and gave us time to make the decision that was best for us. They were flexible and worked around our schedule for the installation. On the day of he installation, they did an excellent job of keeping their work area clean. Without the tarps they placed around our home, there might have been a lot of grit that accumulated in our grass and planting areas. The new roof looks great. The installation was fast and well done.

We explained when we first called to get an estimate that we had a hole in our roof that was leaking. We indicated we thought the hole and some flashing around the nearby chimney needed repair. NIR couldn't schedule a time to do an estimate but said they would call us back next week. They never did. We had to call again to schedule the estimate. Over the phone they pushed a new roof, which we explained was out of our price range at this time so we were looking for some key repairs instead. When they arrived, the owner was nice enough and commented on how well our roof looked, that it was in better condition than he thought since it was made with much thicker cedar shingles than industry standard. He provided an estimate for $650 which we asked for in writing. After a week, we called to ask when we should expect the estimate. He sent it immediately and it included some contingency for replacement of missing shingles. He said they would be out to do the repair shortly when they another job finished early, so he couldn't give us an exact date or time. FOUR WEEKS went by. We did not get estimates from multiple companies because with the busy season and the rains on the way, we just wanted the job done. We were loathe to start the process over. So we called back. The following week, they sent a crew out to do the repairs and the crew came back saying that there were more problems then they were lead to believe. We were told it would be another $250-300 to fix the additional problems and the crew would be back on Saturday - five weeks after we got the first estimate. They arrived and explained that in fact we needed flashing around all of our structures. We called the owner to find out what was going on. They claimed we needed new flashing around all of our chimney structures and that our roof was in terrible shape - a very different story than the original visit. Again they recommended a new roof. Given that it had rained the night before, we were cornered and couldn't say no to the expanded repairs. Our estimate doubled on the spot. We also discussed fixing the holes. When they did finally get to work, the crew was quick, polite and prompt. What they did, looks good. However when we went up into our attic to make sure the holes were patched - the hole was still there glaring! The entire reason we called in the first place and it wasn't touched. We emailed the company and got an immediate response wondering why we didn't point it out to the guys when we were there! We weren't on the roof with them but while we were on the ground we talked with the guys about patching the hole. I'm not sure what else we could have done. EIther they found another hole or they just didn't do the work. But aren't they the experts? They returned today and fixed a portion of the roof but it's clear they didn't completely fix the hole. We still don't have a full bill for the work. When we discussed returning to fix the hole they missed, the owner was very abrupt and rude. They refused to warranty their work "for a roof that was in such bad shape." Funny how their story changed from start to finish. We knew we were going to need a new roof in a few years, but instead of working with us to extend the life of our existing roof and possibly get the job for the new roof in a few years, they blew it in so many ways. Instead of calling them a third time to finish the job, we're just going to DIY.
Description of Work: We were attracted to Nail It Roofing due to the positive comments on Angie's List. We needed a roofer who could fix a hole in the roof and upgrade flashing around a chimney. Ultimately they provided flashing around three structures and fixed a few holes in the roof (but not the one that was leaking on our interior ceiling which caused us to call in the first place). They did not replace the missing shingles they said they would.

We strongly believe in being honest with our customers and would never try to sell anyone a roof who didn't need one. This is a roof that should have been replaced at least 10 years ago. It was in very poor condition and we could not see the full scope of problems with it until our crew, with proper safety equipment (this was a very steep roof), could get up there and view it properly. Despite our best efforts, this roof still needs to be replaced. We even discounted the price of the repair as low as possible to help accommodate this customer.

From first phone call this company was top notch. After a brief discussion we set an appointment to get a bid a couple days laters. Just before our appointment time, I received a call to let me know he was running late and wanted to make sure he wasn't going to be an inconvenience. Rodrigo arrived in a clean well labeled contractor's truck that he parked on the street. His professional appearance and manner impressed me right away. After a walk around of the house, he asked if he could get on the roof. Although he had ladders on his truck, I already had a ladder set up, he then asked if he could use it. After a few more questions and showing me some examples of the material they used he left with a promise to e-mail me a bid by the next day. To my delight, I had a complete bid that evening. I had attempted to get three bids for this project and as it turned out Nail It was not only the most professional, they where also the least expensive. By simply printing the bid, choosing some options and then signing and faxing it back to them we set up the job for a couple weeks later. Two days prior to start I got a phone call that informed me that the product that was bid was not available from the specified manufacture, but an almost identical product was available from another manufacturer. I remarked that I would have never known the difference and his response was that no matter how small the change, they always inform the customer. On the day of project, although I was slightly delayed getting home, when I arrived the crew was already prepping the project. Tarps were laid out all over my yard, boards were placed in from of my garage to protect the doors and the crew systematically began the tear off. By late morning the product arrived. Even the delivery guy took time to explain what he was doing and asked a few questions to make sure where he put the truck wouldn't be and inconvenience. By lunch time they completely tore off and papered the roof. By five o'clock they finished the job including an entire clean up of my yard. I highly recommend this contractor.
Description of Work: Nail It Roofing did a complete tear off and replacement of my roof. This project included some plywood repair, new felt, valleys, vent caps and was finished with an algae resistant architectural shingle. Job was estimated to take a day and a half. They finished in a day.

NAIL IT! Roofing is in a league of their own: Professional, prompt, thorough, the NAIL IT! crew went above and beyond to insure the highest quality. The Team of 10-12 professionals showed up early in the morning, all well-dressed and ready to work. They worked hard for 2 straight days from early morning to late evenings to finish a very difficult job, on a steep slope, with high elevation facing downtown Portland. Very few companies could have done the job, in fact several turned down the bid, but NAIL IT! not only did the job, they did it to a caliber that was not expected. Where 3 prior roofers had laid down layer upon layer of roofing on a deck that was warped, NAIL IT! removed these all, installed proper decking, capped all the edges with metal and then installed a waterproof walkable material on top of the decking. We did not ask for this quality, in fact, we did not know enough to ask. But, upon reviewing the job it is obvious how much better this solution is than what was done previously and there are few companies that would have spent the extra time and money to do the job right--and we didn't pay extra for the quality, they just delivered it. In researching NAIL IT! I went to Roofline Supply and they had nothing but glowing praise about the company as one of the very best. In my experience, I would highly recommend NAIL IT! to anyone who wants a quality job and a fair price--these guys will NAIL IT!
Description of Work: Roofing with Certainteed shingles on a 4 story house, with steep pitches, flat roof, and high elevation sitting on the side of the hill overlooking Portland. This is a very difficult job that some other competitors declined to bid due to the height, the pitch of the roof, and the difficulty in getting in and out. NAIL IT! was on par with other companies in bid, but far better in their background reputation that I did on Angie's List, Google, and Roofline Supply Company that is a major supplier to Roofers in the Portland Area. We wanted a great company to do this job and NAIL IT! exceeded all of our expectations.

The work was great. They had really good pricing and they completed their job when they said they would. It was pretty hassle free. They came right out to give us a bid and they followed up.

They did a good job. They used good quality materials and were detailed. They did what they said they were going to do. The people who came to do the work were good. I gave my roof measurement, but he didn't estimate the correct amount of squares of shingles. They were quite professional.
