They came out for onsite inspections and estimates but were late for scheduled appointment. After they did arrive they indicated that unless I bought a larger service package they did not want to do what I needed done. Work was never performed because after the onsite review and the estimate provided I did not have confidence that TrueTech had my best interests at heart. Seemed more concerned about selling me a longer-term service package that I did not want.

Thank you for your review, please go back and look at the company who came out, per our records we have never serviced you back in December of 2014 you had a scheduled appointment to hook up an outlet for your RV and you cancelled that appointment. Also we never just miss scheduled appointments we have a policy in place for rescheduling customers and if that happened I would of offered you a discount on repairs for doing such.. Sincerely Julia

HORRIBLE! Because of them, I have spent over $1200 needlessly!!! They were supposed to clean the dryer vent. The tech cleaned inside the house - saying there was no need to go to the roof and clean - he got it. Clothes still were not drying. Bought a new dryer. Clothes still not drying - for one king sheet it was taking 6 hours. Sears has just been here (how many months has this been going on??) and got a huge amount of lint from the vent on the rood (a 10 year build up) All because the tech was too lazy to go on the roof.

Thank you for your review, I spoke with you after the service call in March and you stated you were very happy with our service, I also told you if you had any problems or questions to please call me back so I could take care of the issue.. I have not heard from you and I would of been very happy to get the issue resolved..By reading the summary from the tech I see that it would of cost extra to get on the roof to do extra cleaning and you declined to pay.. It would of cost you much less than the $1200 you paid Sears by just simply making a phone call to me.. I am sorry for all of your problems but just know we would of come out and helped you get this taken care of.. Sincerely Julia

Thank you for your review, Sometimes we run out of items that we have used during the day and sometimes depending on the color of your outlets we may have to purchase some at the parts house if we dont have them in stock. We use customer supplied items all the time a lot of our customers prefer to purchase the items instead of paying for them from the technician.. We gave you a discount on the work because you had a customer supplied item. I am not sure why you are upset after speaking with the technician he said you offered to use the items instead of having him leave to the parts house..Sincerely Julia

I am very shocked by this review.. I spoke with you after the service call and you were so happy with the work and the technician, you even took out a monthly service plan for $29.95 per month, then after that you called out our plumber to do work for you and not one time after all of our conversations did you let me know you were unhappy.. We installed two specialty electrical devices to get the light in your trees working, we repaired a light over your garage, installed a wall sconce and replaced a 20 amp breaker. For the work that was done I thought the price was right, I would of been more than happy to talk to you about pricing if you just would of talked to me.. Sincerely Julia

I purchased a special from this company for $75 for $150 worth of plumbing work. RED FLAG! The special was very vague only saying $75 for $150 worth of plumbing. It was last day of special and a Sunday. So got it then called to try to get more details the following week. Is this for an hour or will this cover my project or what? need new kitchen faucet and disposal installed. Lady on phone could not answer any of my questions. Claimed she didn't know about their pricing. Finally said she would have a plumber call me with info but it would be a couple hours but would be that day. Never heard from anybody. So few days later and appt was this morning. Surprisingly TWO guys showed up! Wondered why since working in sink area is only big enough for one worker in my opinion. Thank God I requested a quote! $503.00!!! $95 for p-trap, $236 for faucet and $172 for garbage disposal. Minus $150 for $75 special so a balance of $353!!! Said they don't work by the hour but by the job. So then why couldn't the lady on the phone look that up instead of being clueless? IN MY OPINION I felt like someone was trying to rob me and told them so and to leave and never come back. I feel they knew if I knew their prices I would not even let them in my house and that would be correct. I'm in my 60's and am less than 5 ft tall. Decided I would try this myself since it is Friday I assumed I wouldn't be able to find someone before the weekend. Being clueless and only 1 person instead of two people I had the faucet installed in 45 minutes and the garbage disposal and flange for sink hole in another 45 minutes! Was able to do it with the new sink on the floor so no crawling into the cabinet. The original p-trap lined up great so no new parts for that. It is all working great and I can't find any leaks!!! Hopefully they could have done it in half the time and it only took me 1 1/2 hours and their price was $503 if I had used them!! In fairness to them, I don't know what other plumbing companies would charge for this so it may be in line. But my opinion is $503 for what should take them, especially two of them, less time than I spent, 1 1/2 hours, is unethical. And in fairness to them I did get mad and rude but they remained calm and polite and explained they don't set the pricing for the jobs. I didn't count the time I spent going to buy plumbers putty cause I'm trying to compare apples to apples on the time. I assume they would have had that in their truck.
Description of Work: Showed up on time. Gave me an estimate that in my opinion was so ridiculous I kicked them out of the house without allowing any work to be performed. The reason for the F for Quality, responsiveness and professionalism was due to telling me a plumber would call me with info and nobody called. Also not being able to provide any clues to what I was purchasing on their special. Also for sending 2 men for a one man job. I ended up doing the work myself alone, a female in my 60's less than 5 foot tall.

Thank you for your review, First of all the very first call we had you never asked about pricing.. It wasnt until the day of the call that you asked if the Angies List deal would cover the cost of the 3 things you needed.. And I told you this is a coupon it will not cover all the costs of repairs depending on what needs to be done, and you are exactly right i can not give prices in the office because each situation is different.. We send out two men on every call because one is a licensed journeyman and the other is an apprentice in training, you do not pay for the technicians you pay for the job that is needed. I checked out the summary of what needed to be done at your home and I found the price justified for the work that needed to be done.. And as I have said before this is a coupon there is a reason we call it a coupon its because it is to be used to take off the price of your work not to cover 3 or 4 or 5 things that you need to have done.. If you bring coupons to a grocery store or to buy pizza do you get those items for free? Sincerely Julia

I purchased a special on Angie's List for $99 to have an exterior electric outlet installed. The day the service was scheduled, they called and rescheduled for the following week. When the worker showed up, he said he would give me an estimate for the work. I explained that I didn't need an estimate, the service I purchased was for $99. He argued saying that was $99 off the cost of the service. I assured him that $99 covered the entire service. After much arguing, I told him that he could give me an estimate but I would not pay one cent more than the $99 as agreed upon in the Angie's offer. He then presented me with an estimate for $99 and asked if I wanted the work done that day. Of course I did, that is why he was there! Over 30 minutes of my time was spent arguing about the offer. When he began the work, instead of drilling a hole in the siding to recess the outlet, he drilled a small hole and ran the electric wire from an interior wall outlet to the outside and then mounted a junction box on top of an outlet box which caused the entire apparatus to stick out approximately 6 inches from the wall. When I told him the box would need to be recessed, he said that this was according to code and he could not change it. He took a picture of his work and left. Someone from the company called me and asked if I was satisfied with the job. I told them I was not. She said she had seen a picture of the work and would be sending someone out to correct the work. A week later two people came out to recess the outlet. Before they began working I asked if they wanted to shut of the power to the outlet. They said that would be unnecessary. I asked three times if they should turn the power off to the outlet, Each time, they refused and continued to work with a live wire. They removed one of the junction boxes and left the other extended outside the siding. While working, they discovered that the person who had done the work before them had nicked a wire which was shorting out and causing sparks to fly every time something was plugged into the outlet. They then had to run new wire. I asked if they would cut a hole in the siding and recess the outlet. They said it would cost more than $99 to do the job that way. I had already saved them time and money by allowing them to mount the new exterior outlet box to the back of an interior outlet box instead of running wire from the attic. I was tired of arguing with them so accepted the work and decided I would never do business with them again. They were dishonest (trying to charge me more than the $99 offer that I purchased) and unsafe (nicking the electric wire which was arcing and the second crew working with live wires).
Description of Work: They installed an outdoor electric outlet, a special offered through Angie's List.

Thank you for your review, after many conversations with you about the angies list coupon I thought we had come to an understanding about the box that you recieved, it costs much more than $99 to have it purchased an installed, We had spoke about the tech not understanding about the coupon and had the second crew come out to fix what you did not like, again you had every oppurtunity to let me know that you were not happy. I spoke with you after the service call and you said that you were very happy with the service that the second crew , I cannot fix the issues with the techs unless you are willing to let me know.. I purchased the Angie's List deal $99 for $200 of services. They came to my house (30 minutes late), spent a while trying to sell me more, spent 20+ minutes in their van totaling the costs for what I did want. All I needed was to replace 2 light switches, 3 bathroom lights, 1 ballast -- and asked that they price it out. This is work that anyone (including myself) could have done in under 2 hrs. Eventually, after waiting, I went to their van, saw that their tally was up to $896. I told them to leave.

Thank you for your review, your appointment was schedule between 1 and 3pm we arrived at your home at 1:30pm, you asked us to give you and estimate on the things that you wanted repaired so that is what we did, As I have explained many times before the Angies List Deal is a coupon it is to be used to recieve money off of work that needs to be done, sometimes it covers sometimes it doesnt based on the scope of the work.. It is a coupon like you would use to purchase groceries, furniture etc.. I am sorry that you feel like the price was to high but these are the things you asked us to repair also I looked at the summary after the Angies List Coupon and a Military discount your total would of been less than $500 for your repairs.. OG&E had installed a new SmartHours thermostat a couple of days ago, and I needed heat this morning. Turned it on, and the fan started, but no heat. OG&E said it was my problem as I couldn't see a pilot light (not accurate since I have a newer furnace!). So I called True Tech. They had a technician out in less than 2 hours. He first opened the thermostat and immediately saw the incorrect wiring! He corrected that, and then thoroughly checked that all was functioning well with the furnace and the AC with the new thermostat. He charged the basic service fee (a bit under $50) and an additional charge for the actual repair. Now, just to see if I will get properly reimbursed for someone else's problem.

Scheduling was easy but went down hill from there. Work ended up lasting four days because of workers not being available. They never showed up at time they said they would and rescheduled twice. Cost ended up being almost double from original quote. Workers smoked in garage while working and door to house was open. Didn't clean up all their mess they left. The only thing positive I can say is they have an agreement with a financing company you can get two years no interest so at least you can make payments to pay for the overpriced work they did.

Joe the electrician arrived promptly and ultimately installed two simple, plain-vanilla Lowe's flush mount light fixtures in our upstairs hall, removing existing fixtures first. I had purchased a "$99 for $200 worth of work" deal and expected the cost would be no more than $200; it was, after all, a one hour job, and that's about how long the job took. He was there quite a bit longer than that owing to his need to attempt to sell me everything from whole house surge protection to outside security lighting. I would normally not be bothered by those attempts, but they were made with assumption and they were annoying - at least, to me. Anyway, back to the work. I also mentioned replacing two electrical outlets and the price was exorbitant, so I declined and focused on the upstairs light fixtures. I indicated prior to the start of the work that I wanted to make sure the total price would indeed be no more than $99, which Joe assured me would be the case. After the work was completed, I was presented with a bill for $242 - which is $242 an hour (I am in the wrong business). I paid it because I did not feel like arguing and basically wanted him out of my home. NEVER AGAIN.

Thank you for your review, Once again as I have stated before the Angies List Coupon is to help customers get the work done and give them a discount on the price given, just like using coupons at a grocery store one coupon does not buy all your groceries it just helps it cutting down the cost of your bill,We give you the price up front so at anytime all you had to do was say no the price was to high and decline services. I called you after the service and you did not answer I left you a message to call me back if you had any issues with the service call and I had no reply. I possibly could of helped by working out a price that you felt comfortable paying. I am sorry that you think that you paid to high of a price but I feel the work that the tech did for you by taking down 2 light fixtures and installing two light fixtures was fair. Sincerely Julia

I wasn't present and my wife met the electrician. They stated that all work would have to be done before the electric company would turn power on again. They also stated that we were out of code and if we didn't also replace the breaker box the city would fine us. Bottom line is that they tried to be pressure her into making the decision. I returned home and saw that everything looked fine but the line was pulled out of the riser by the tree. We called Baxter electric for a second opinion. They said everything looked fine and the line would just need to be reattached. They reconnected the line within and we had power again for under $600 that day. Our experience with them was not good and I feel pretty strongly that they were trying to take advantage of us. Interestingly they also claimed to have and A+ rating on Angie's list which wasn't true, they had a b rating at the time.
Description of Work: A tree took out our electrical line. Technician quoted $2200 to fix line, riser, weather head, and other things. He then stated that we would need to get a new breaker box and ground for an additional $3200.

I purchased three of the specials for the whole house protectors: one for me and gifts for two of my children. The installations went smoothly at their homes. However, the "hard-sell" tactics to get on their service plan was a major source of upset for both of them, especially since the protectors were given as gifts. At my house, the installation went smoothly. I also was exposed by the pressure to buy their service contract and I refused it. In my instance, the surge protector began to cause major problems by "blowing fuses" (flipping the breakers) several times a day. They returned to repair the box and told me that by installing it in the last remaining slot in the breaker panel, there were going to be issues. They attempted to repair it, then told me that I needed a new box. The cost was going to be over $3000! I phoned another electrical company (RPK Electric) who completed the job at less than half that price and time quote - and with none of the sales pressure. Thanks to their hard sell to get on their service contract and the work done at my location, I now make sure that ANY electrical special has nothing to do with True Tech. I absolutely refuse to have this company to any further work for me or any of my family.

Thank you for your review, I am so sad that after our phone conversation you would even use the phrase"Bait and switch" we have many customers who live in gated communities on golf courses and some who just live in normal neighborhoods.. All of our prices are the same for everyone, not everyone has the money to get repairs done we try and make it affordable to everyone we come in contact with. We always offer a maintenance plan to every customer. We also offerd you discounted pricing,.. I surely hope you find a company that will do the several repairs you wanted with parts for only $100.. When you hire True tech you may pay a little more than some companies but you are paying for the best service, warranties and piece of mind that if something breaks down that we have repaired we are coming back to fix it with no extra charges. We also have a lifetime workmanship warranty that no other company offers.. Sincerely Julia

I know for a fact the tech explained the membership program with you and told you exactly what your were getting and being charged for because your signatures and initials are on the contract.. I also offered to cancel your contract and you pay back the 15% discount you recieved when getting these repairs done and you refused. I think the price you paid for having the work done was a really good price especially you not having any electrical in the spots you chose to add the fixtures. You were given the price up front and at anytime you could of decided not to have us do the work. In fact I called you right after the service call and you said you were very happy with the service and the price you paid. Sincerely Julia

Thank you for your review, We have explained to you multiple times how this coupon works, we also gave you many discounts in order to get this generator installed and you refused all offers. I am sorry that you feel the coupon should of included all the work and the generator. I am glad you will be recieving a refund and I hope you are able to find a company that can give you a 10kw generator and a panel upgrade for the coupon price. Sincerely Julia

After the Tech arrived, he looked around and then went to his truck to do an estimate. The deal I bought was $99 for an outdoor electrical box. Main stipulation in the deal was it had to be tied into an existing outlet that was already ran... and had to be within five feet of that outlet. I chose two places, one within 3-4 feet (but around a corner), and the backup was about 2-3 inches away from the outlet. Upon bring me the quote, there was an extra $444 tacked on. The explanation I received was first that the deal was $99 for $200 worth of work (after looking online there was a different deal like that). Then after showing him the deal I bought, he said that was for Interior work only. I pointed out on the Printed coupon that it said OUTDOOR. He went back to his truck to talk to his home office. after returning he said the home office said it was only $200 worth of work, but they would knock off an extra $100 for my service. That was still $344 on top of the $99 I already spent on the Angie's list deal. I had a different electrical out earlier in the year that ran an outlet for my sprinkler system. His quote for a new outlet where I wanted it (without tapping into existing outlet) was $200 total. I know this isn't same company... but I would figure they would be near the same ballpark. Either way, I bought a deal and they failed to honor it. I refused the outdoor outlet service and called Angie's List. They are sending out a new company (hopefully with better results). I was told my show time was 12:00pm... at 1:00 pm I called and was told it was actually 12-2pm. I called at 3:00pm and was told they were running behind. They showed at 3:30pm. I did have work performed that day by the company. We are getting a new stove and had to have a 220 outlet installed/extended that day, so we were forced to go ahead with that part of service. We had a hardwired stove in place (removed for them to do service). So the work that needed to be done, was extended existing wiring 6-10 inches and add a range outlet at end of wiring. They needed some parts so they left. Parts required were extra wiring to extend, blank of panel for existing wiring to be covered after splicing together, an outlet box at new location, outlet, and outlet cover. They returned (to my surprise really). Performed the work as promised. originally quoted $151, which I thought was High... but again felt forced due running out of time to get someone else. I was informed when they returned from getting parts they discounting 50%. So Total was $75.50. I consider this a fair price, which was definitely a good surprise. They technicians were very professional and friendly the entire time. All work performed was, in my eyes, flawless. They worked fast, but accurate! I wish I could write two reviews (I'm new to Angie's list so don't know if I can or not). First review would be an F due to not honoring the deal (false advertising) and what I feel (opinion only) was an outrageous price. My second would be low A or high B. Based on professionalism and quality of work that was performed.
