"The customer filed suit and we have been to court and he lost his suit. The customer claims I said i would replace his engine and that is a misunderstanding on his part. what i told him was there was a mistake made on his tune-up and i would i did not charge him labor for the tune-up. During the tune-up inspection we found a burn valve on number one cylinder. The customer stated when he dropped off the vehicle," this better fix it because i am not spending another fucking penny on it." We pulled both heads sent them to a machine shop to be repaired. When completed the customers bill was $1288.00. He paid the bill then drove the vehicle for 200 miles. He brought it back to the shop with a misfire on the number one cylinder. Upon inspection, number one piston was burnt because the customer drove it with a burn valve for too long. At my expense I pulled the cylinder head and the oil pan. Then replaced the number one piston and all gaskets and furnished labor. This cost the shop approximately $1000.00. The customer drove the vehicle 3000 miles and a rod started knocking. That is not because of any negligence of the shop. That is because of the customers negligence to maintain the vehicle properly."
