Hazelwood Floors

Excellently! The guys did a really, really nice job on our floor refinish project. I thought that we needed to tear out our old floor and install new, but the wife wanted to keep the old, classic floor (parquet flooring). I didn't think that it would turn out as nice as it did. Hazelwood did a wonderful job. We would not hesitate to recommend them to others! Garret, Kevin, Charles, and Jacob are true professionals. All great guys and excellent craftsmen. We really appreciated their expertise and advice.

Job started in 11/13, first problem was the employee said the finishing sander was “broken” and I would not be able to see stain samples on the floor that night. I didn’t understand how they could not get another sander over to my house, so I called the owner. He then told me the employee “forgot” the sander at the shop (still not sure who was telling the truth), and that they indeed could not get another sander over that day. Twenty minutes later the owner called back and said they would get another sander over there so I could look at stains, crisis averted. Job was to be done on 11/15, at 7pm I text to find out how the job finished up. Received a response informing that the job was not done and wouldn’t be done till 11/17 (not sure why I had to reach out before I heard this news). At this point I decided to put my move for 11/18 on hold since the floors wouldn’t even be done for 24 hrs. On 11/17 went to expect the floors, they looked great except the closet floors weren’t done! Closets were finally completed on 11/21. While I’m overall pretty pleased how the floors turned out I was extremely disappointed with the lack of communication. I received two different stories when the first problem arose, when the second problem arose it took me reaching out before I learned of it, finally if there was any question about on whether or not the closets should have been done (because the new stain was considerably darker) a simple call or text would have saved time and headaches.

Implementation team did a terrific job. The new floor looks great. The team was punctual, friendly and professional. Equipment looked up-to-date and well maintained. One glitch—turned out a portion of the work was outside the quote resulting in an extra charge of $135 on final invoice. This was not explicitly clarified/priced at the onset of work. A communication issue. We resolved it satisfactorily but one should make sure that any out-of-scope work is clearly identified/priced in advance or at outset of actual work.

If there was a higher marking than "A", I would give it. The floors turned out beautiful. This summarizes my exemplary experience with Hazelwood. Management was on top of the estimate and within days was at my house (having worked around me having to change the date and time due to work). Tim, the estimator, was extremely professional and efficient. He inspected and measured all aspects of the kitchen and stairs. He went into the basement to make sure there would be no issues with the subfloor. From the estimate to the final cleanup, I cannot be prouder of how my kitchen looks. The men spent three days working on the project and kept me updated every step of the way. They sealed off the kitchen to prevent dust and black glue stuff from entering other rooms of the house. They moved a difficult fridge in and out of the kitchen. They worked their butts off removing the evil black glue. They hauled all of the flooring out each day and stored their equipment in a discreet, out-of-the-way area. I had the option of choosing my stain color, and with their help, I was able to choose one that seamlessly blends in with the other hardwood floors in my home. I am attaching pictures so you can see what a great job they did. I intend to use the company again when I am ready to touch up the rest of my house's floors. As a final note, they understood that I have pets in the house and kept the kitchen sealed to prevent them from getting sick from any sawdust and from accidentally walking on it. I was comfortable leaving the pets locked upstairs while I went to work. I completely trusted the men after having met them and spending the first day at home while they worked.

Hazelwood did an excellent job refinishing our floors. They were fast, flexible, and helpful even with some flooring issues (fire damage, uneven floors, cracked boards, etc.). Pricing was on par with other providers, but Hazelwood clearly is excellent at what they do. I would definitely recommend their work and hire them again in the future.

Craig made things so easy when he came out for an estimate. He explained the process and different options and then gave me a very fair estimate for brand new floors. The crew was in house all week, but worked very quickly and did a beautiful job. The hardwood floors that were down prior were the original from when the home was constructed in 1900 and were in awful condition. I cannot even begin to explain the difference... absolutely gorgeous!

We were very pleased with the way our hardwood floors turned out! First of all, I want to say that working with Craig and Christine from Hazelwood Floors was very easy. They were prompt in their replies to my emails and calls, explained the job in detail to me, and answered all my questions very thoroughly. Craig and the men that worked on my floors were professional, courteous and pleasant. They made sure that the work was done correctly and completely! We had some repair to do, and Craig took the time to make sure that was done properly so that it is not even visible where the patching work was done. I chose Rubio Monocoat stain and was very happy that I did. I love the final look of our new floor!

From the first appointment to the last day of work they were prompt, efficient, courteous and professional. I called 5 people looking for estimates. Hazelwood answered and came out within a week. Craig was prepared with pictures and advice. Within a week we had a written estimate, and within a month, the work was finished. They moved our furniture in and out with great care. We couldn't be more pleased with the restored beauty of our 75 year old hardwood.

Price was an A, I just didn't have the money to do it at the time.

We love supporting local small businesses, companies like Hazelwood Floors make that very easy to do. The workers were so nice and helpful, they put down 3 samples and then 3 more because we are picky. If they can deal with us with a smile on their faces then they are keepers!

The work was outstanding. Work began exactly on the date scheduled. The tradesmen were courteous and careful. The process was clearly explained ahead of time and Craig was clear as to what we could expect from him and what our part would be in removing furniture etc., to insure the greatest project success. Our floors are perfect. They are so beautiful and so in keeping with the tradition period of the house. I would highly recommend this company both as to quality of work and professionalism.

Craig is truly a master at hardwood floors. I got quotes from 4 different flooring contractors and he was the only one who I felt was confident and competent enough to achieve what I wanted. I wanted to do a custom install with a border and herringbone pattern in my family room, hall, kitchen and dining room. The quality and workmanship is impeccable. I will absolutely be recommending him to everyone I know. Best in Cleveland! I feel truly lucky to have found him, my floors look like they belong in a magazine.

There was a lot of timing involved because of the total re model of the entire house, and they were more than glad to work with us so that the project went smoothly.
