+ -1 moreWhen the representative came to inspect the roof he told us the roof was in good shape for it's age, but there was some repair work needed to be done. He also discovered a place in the wood siding that had had was damaged and could be a possible access for one of nature's creatures to gain access to our home. They gave us an estimate for the repair work for the roof and siding, which we considered reasonable. Everyone that came to the house was very professional and we would certainly consider using this company again.
Description of Work: Purchased an Angie's List coupon for a roof inspection by Ohio Exteriors LLC. The inspection resulted in repair work which Ohio Exteriors LLC also performed.

Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal for the roof inspection and on 7/16--sent the following email to this company via their website: "we recently purchased an Angie's list big deal for a roof inspection. I have called 4 times and left voice messages to schedule this. We received a postcard thanking us for our business, but have yet to even get a phone call" That finally prompted a return call. We scheduled the inspection for 8/1/12. A tech by the name of Lloyd showed up promptly and came down telling me that our roof needed 'over $2000.00 worth of work' and that he had taken pictures. [which we have requested, but never seen] The next day I received a phone call to also have one of their guys come out and give us a siding estimate. That was scheduled for 8/7/12. We had already been collecting estimates and had been considering one of 2 products. We were told that those were basically junk [but used by custom builders in the area and approved by our HOA] and yet a 3rd product was suggested. Another 2 weeks went by and I received a phone call from the office staff [who was always congenial and pleasant] to ask if they could schedule the work. I stated that I hadn't received estimates, yet!! So, on August 27th, I received the estimate and contract via email from Chris Dennison. I emailed him back asking for the roof inspection report and the pictures off of Lloyd's phone. I received an estimate back on the roof [stating over $2000 worth needed] however, that was the last contact ever made. I have asked for pictures--never received. I have left two voice messages since. The two areas on the roof [one of them being the reason I scheduled this] were stated, as was a complete reroofing of our front porch that is less than 5 years old. It was roofed by my brother who has been a contractor and built houses for the last 30+ years. We have never had a leak on the porch or where it meets our siding, however, according to Lloyd--it is roofed and flashed incorrectly.

+ -1 moreUpdate - the company called after the negative comment in our review and explained what happened. Even offered to refund the money. Revising the review based on their responsiveness and caring about their reputation. Not a great experience first time around but they went beyond what they had to in order to make things right. This company was supposed to weather proof our house windows and doors. But when they came they said all they could do was the doors and that was just to put some self adhesive foam in the frame.

+ -1 moreAfter I purchased the big deal, the mop any called me to setup an appointment. Once the technician arrived he was on time and he explained to me everything he would do and he got started. He took pictures of my roof for me and showed me the condition of it. He isn't try to sell me any additional services. He cleaned all my gutters and checked inside my attic. Great job!

+ -1 moreOur roof was at the end of its useful life and I asked Ohio Exteriors to come out and provide an estimate. James, the owner, came out on a Saturday and answered all of our questions, inspected the roof and even went into the attic to check on the ventilation. The estimate for a new roof, venting, gutters and down spouts was very reasonable and competitive and they helped us work through our home owners association to install shingles that were compliant with their requirements. They arrived on the scheduled date and time, did all the installation in a timely and professional manner, cleaned up the area after they were finished, and we were very satisfied with the end product. There was one concern with the slope of the gutter on the garage, which they addressed and fixed to our satisfaction. They also accepted the Angie's List coupon. Ohio Exteriors was professional, prompt, courteous and performed the work we agreed on, at the price stated and in an excellent manner. I would not hesitate to recommend them and use them again.

James was there on the 1st day of work to make sure things went the way we wanted them done. We had a couple minor mistakes that were corrected in a timely fashion. We would recommend Ohio Exteriors to anybody looking to have work done.

+ -1 moreThis was a special Angie's List deal for a roof inspection, minor repairs if needed, and cleaning of gutters. About 12 to 14 feet of roofing shingles over a peak had been blown off during a storm. They did not expect this damage when they showed up for the inspection. They then inspected the roof and found that all the peak shingles had not been nailed down correctly, which was the reason for the shingles blowing off. They went over all the various peaks on the roof and renailed them correctly and caulked where they needed to be caulked. They went to a supply store and purchased enough shingles to replace those that had blown off. It was almost a perfect match. After checking with me regarding the color shade, they replaced the missing shingles. During the job, which was taking longer then they expected, the boss had to leave. They immediately sent another boss over to finish the job. They did an excellent job, were polite, professional, and completed the job the same afternoon. The office ladies were also very friendly and easy to work with. I was here during the entire job and watched them do the work after they showed me and explained what needed to be done. I was very pleased with the job they did. They billed me for the shingles and a tube of caulk, but no extra labor for all the work they did. I would certainly use them again if I needed a roof repair or replacement.
Description of Work: Ohio Exteriors replaced some peak roofing shingles blown off the roof during a storm. They also nailed down all the peak shingles (we have a hip roof, so there are lots of peak shingles) that had not been nailed down correctly when the roof was put on. (They did not install the roof) They checked the gutters to see if they needed to be cleaned, but I had just had them cleaned.

+ -1 moreVery overpriced for their cursory inspection. Two men arrived. One knew nothing abouit roofing, perhaps was just an apprentice.
Description of Work: I had left over shingles from a previous repair. If I hadn't had them, the damaged/loose shingles wouldn't have been replaced. it didn't seem that they many supplies. The ended up caulking around a couple of sites, and giving me a quote on a whole roof replacement, but it seemed very expensive for so little return.

+ -1 moreJames and everyone else was very responsive. They told me exactly what was being done and when. They did a great job with the roof, even putting in vented drip edge. Plus, they helped us a lot with processing the claim with the insurance company. Mind you, these are not storm chasers! (We had interviewed those as well and quickly decided not to go with them!) Jim worked with the price for us to make everything work within the confines of the insurance allowance.
Description of Work: They replaced our roof after storm damage, fixed some trims around the roof, and patched stucco that needed work after insulating the house.

+ -1 moreWhat a great experience with Ohio Exteriors LLC! The siding on my house on the 2nd story was loose. Lloyd removed and reattached the siding to the house. He sealed the entire area to prevent any water damage. He then caulked all of my windows where there were gaps in the seals. Lloyd took pictures of the siding and windows before and after repairs that were later emailed to me. Lloyd showed up on time, explained the work before heproceeded, reviewed the repair and asked if I had any questions or concerns. The service was as promised, was extremely professional and was a very pleasant experience!
