There is a 50.00 fee for an estimate. The gentleman that came out to complete the estimate was the one that was going to complete the work. He was very polite, very professional, very good, personable. You could tell he was experienced in the field and knew what to do for the job. I had an appointment with someone else the next day I was so impressed with him that I cancelled that and went with Michael.
Description of Work: Several small jobs example put up gutters. The biggest job was replacing steps for an apartment.

He was very good. First of all, he showed up on time to give the estimate. Then he gave me an estimate that was very reasonable. He was the one who was going to do the work. He did an excellent job, and he was very professional. He was very confident in his ability and it was great.

I request the same guy for all of my handyman work. He shows up on time and works at a steady pace until the work is complete. He cleans up afterward and takes the trash down to the street. I would recommend too anyone who needs a handyman.
Description of Work: Removed towel bar and patched and painted wall. Hung picture on wall. Assembled TV console. Installed accesscent lights above and below kitchen cabinets. Took trash to street for pickup.

I furnished the paint, paint buckets, and paint brushes. I also had to clean up after he was done painting. After installing the safety rods he asked if I had any white paint to touch up the walls and I told him that it was not necessary. I went to redeem a coupon for 25% and he said that's not his company and would not honor the coupon.
Description of Work: He came out to paint 2 walls and put up 2 safety rods in the shower for elderly people.

I would refer all of my friends to home and certainly will call him in the future. We have had service men from other companies (Apollo) come out and fix things and I end up feeling ripped off... Mike explained each circumstance, how he was going to fix it and how much each part costs... Very transparent.

I thought they were very overpriced and when he painted the trim around our windows of our master bedroom, he also painted on the window. There is still paint on the windows. I am really not happy. Those were little spots but still I wasn't really pleased with him. It seemed like it ended up more than what we talked about and he kind of tried to talk me into some more stuff too. I think he was a little bit pushy but the quality of the work was good except after he left when I discovered that there were spots of paint on the windows and I don't really feel like getting the extension ladder and go up there and take it off. I didn't have complaints about the quality except for the paint spots but I think he knows a few other things and he wanted to help me with that. I think we have some sidings to be put back on and he was going to clean the gutters and do a few other things. He was scheduled to do rather a few things and he did all of them but it took longer than I thought and I think that's why it cost more. My husband and I felt that it was overpriced. The guy was nice enough but he asked me about something else and I said to just finish what he's doing and that's it. He was very willing to do whatever we needed so I think his attitude is great. He didn't do anything that was not professional.
Description of Work: Mr. Handyman of Greater Cincinnati came out last summer to replace some wood trim on the front of our house and repainted it. I think he also installed a faucet for us because we had a faucet problem.

The time he is at the house, he is working continuously. He doesn't drag the time out. He is efficient. He explains what needs to be done and how he is going to do it. He lets me know if he is coming in and out of the house. He never leaves a mess. The cost is up there though.

I used this company based on the reviews from Angie's List. We are new to the area and I needed a couple of odd jobs done around our home. The toilet in the guest bathroom was running and we also needed a curtain rod installed in our loft that would require using an extension ladder to reach. I had installed one curtain rod in the loft but was not able to reach the 2nd window next to it. I gave the worker instructions on the measurements he would need to use to be even with the other rod on the window next to the one he was doing. He didn't listen and hung the rod to low, which then had to be redone. This mistake caused there to be holes in the drywall that would now need to be repaired. He did a HORRIBLE job of patching the drywall and painting over it. Also, he left without the toilet being repaired properly. I tried to catch him before he pulled away from the curb, after flushing the toilet and realizing it wasn't working, but he just looked at me and took off. I immediately called the company and explained the situation. The owner called me back but had an attitude that I was very much inconveniencing him. He offered to send out another worker to do the job properly but he never apologized for my experience or anything. Fortunately, the new worker came out and did make the job right. The price was very high for the work that was performed. Since I was charged by the time spent on the job, I paid for the extra time the original worker spent repairing the walls before being able to start work on the toilet. Honestly, how could the company even justify that??? I was never offered a discount after speaking to the owner and explaining how dissatisfied I was. I would never use this company again or recommend them.

The customer contacted Mr. Handyman on 7/10/12 to repair a toilet and install a curtain rod. Our Customer Service Representative went over our rates and how we work with the customer. She told the customer the time estimate would be between 2-3 hours to complete; the customer agreed and scheduled the service for 7/16/12. The Service Technician arrived as scheduled, repaired the toilet and installed the curtain rod. The curtain rod wasn’t installed to the customer’s satisfaction so a slight adjustment was made. In moving the curtain rod the hole needed patched in the drywall which was very simple and was completed while on site. The customer was charged for 2 hours labor plus materials (the low end of the estimated time). She signed the paperwork, paid and the service tech left the job. Shortly after the service tech left the customer called the office and complained about the service. She complained about the price and said nothing was done to her satisfaction. I apologized for her experience and tried to understand what the complaint was and how we could resolve it. I couldn’t figure out what would satisfy her so I asked would she prefer a discount on the service or another technician to come out and correct any issues with the workmanship. She thought about this but ended up deciding to have another employee come out and correct the problems. Another one of our technicians arrived the same day and attempted to repair items that weren’t completed to her satisfaction. He determined that the toilet was repaired correctly and that he couldn’t see the drywall problem unless he was on his ladder and maybe a foot from the patch. He touched it up as requested and was finished in less than 15 minutes. When leaving he suggested to our office and noted his paperwork that we mark the customer as a Do Not Contact and Do Not Service because he didn’t believe she could be satisfied in the future. The jobs were completed as scheduled. The customer was charged as estimated. We returned at no additional charge to verify everything was to her satisfaction. There was nothing else we could do for this customer and will not be able to service her in the future. The customer was apologized to and did note in her complaint that we made the job right but still gave Mr. Handyman a grade of a F. This is unfair to a company that charged what was estimate and followed through as promised. It is Mr. Handyman’s goal to satisfy every customer. Unfortunately we couldn’t accomplish this with the customer.

They never showed up. When I spoke with them, they said they were here waiting, which was a lie. I called them back in February to do different work, as I had a coupon for their services. The gentlemen was very rude and said a date for service that he would set. He noted that I am not good at keeping appointments. I asked to speak with a supervisor who was also very rude as well. They referred back to the missed appointment and were very unprofessional. I then asked for the owner's phone number and left a voicemail about my experience and never received a follow up phone call. They were rude, inconsiderate and continued to lie about showing up for the previous appointment. They did some work in 2004-2005 and did not have any problems. I am not sure if management has changed but my experience most recently was very negative. I will never use their services again.

This customer is correct we couldn't schedule anymore work with them. See the time line of the 3 jobs we tried to help with in the past. 1) Customer contacted us in August of 2010 to hang mirrors. They cancelled the service. Called us back again in December of 2010 and we did complete the hanging of the mirror project. 2) Customer contacted us in April of 2011 to patch a exterior hole and hang blinds. We scheduled and confirmed for 4/14. We showed up to the confirmed appointment but the customer was a no show. We rescheduled once the customer returned our calls for 4/22 and completed the service. 3) Customer contacted us in December of 2011 to hang a TV and hide the wires. We arrived 12/29 and the customer didn't have a mount. We discussed what to buy and they asked if we could return later that day. We went to another job. Called the customer and returned later that day. The customer didn't answer the door or there phone. The service tech asked that he not be sent back because the customer just wanted advise on what to buy and how to install. We put the notes in the system and didn't hear back from the customer until April of 2012 asking us to come back out and install the TV. We said we had to pass on this service as our experiences with this job and the previous 2 jobs were not good. The customer was upset and asked to speak with a manager and they told them the same thing. We understand that things happen and schedules change but this happened with every job we had with this customer. We unfortunately had to make a business decision to no longer service them.

Everything about them is professional and thorough.
Description of Work: Over three days, Mr. Handyman sent the same service person who did an outstanding job. He repaired a few broken appliances; helped me fix some windows that needed adjusting; painted the outside of my house, installed lighting fixtures, did repairs to a screened in porch and painted that, cut and applied a large peice of wood to a patch in my garage, and put up blinds for me. I have used Mr. Handyman in the past as well; they always are punctual, and treat my property/problems as if it were their own. They know I have been very pleased with the handyman they have sent in the past and have prioritized him for me on my requests. They call the day before to confirm arrival times. I would definately use them again.

The wind had blown it off. They were here to take it down and re-attach it. Upon making the appointment for today, they gave me a completely different price fromt he original. They originally told me $138.00 plus $64.00 for an additional technician. When they wrote the bill out, it totaled to $314.00 which was no where near the initial price. On May of last year, they installed the sun-setter awning. They charged $443.00 for that service. What my discrepency is, they install it for $443.00, and when they had to come take it down and put it back up it cost almost the same price. To take the awning that was already installed off the wall and put back up, the charge should not be the same. The technician did everything he could, and he had nothing to do with the charge so the quality was good.

The customer contacted us in the beginning of July to schedule a service to have a awning reattached to her house. We told her because of the size of the awning it may need 2 technicians. The first would be $138 for the first hour plus $44 each additional and the 2nd technician would be $68 per hour. She said she would try to have a helper on site to assist our first service technician. The awning needed to be completely removed and all bolts and and brackets needed re installed. The service was very similar to a new installation but in addition we needed to remove the awning first. The final approved charges to the customer's credit card was $275 for labor and materials. This is much less than the original installation charges of $443 because we only had 1 service tech on site. The customer has used us for 5 services in the past and understands how we charge. I can be reached with any other questions or concerns. I am glad the technician was able to complete the service to her satisfaction. Kyle

It was a small job. My experience was fine. My problem was it was glue on there and had a window sill that actually protruded out so they could only put two screws on it which was not their problem. I respected them because they came for the small job. They came out when they said they would come. They responded quickly and got it done promptly. They were on time.

The gentleman came at the time expected. He set to work cleaning the gutters. I had old gutter guards that he removed at my request. He also nailed the gutters in places where it was needed. It went well and they were very professional. They had to come back to address the shower door though due to a small misunderstanding. The cost is my only complaint. The initial hour/charge of $138 and the subsequent hourly bill rate of $88 is very hard to justify/swallow.

This work was completed in 2010 so it has been a while and the details aren't as clear as if it was more recent. Our notes show that we went out to her house 6 times for a total of 12 hours and charged $414. Our job notes say we repaired a leaky shower faucet but recommended and estimated replacement. The customer had us out to warranty the leaky faucet and we did another temporary repair but told her it needed to be replaced and we wouldn't warranty it any more. This was 8/12/10 and she didn't contact us after this service. Instead we believe she had another company replace the fixture. The customer never contacted us after this service with any concerns or to discuss additional repairs or replacement. If there were valid concerns we would have handled them in a prompt and professional manner.
