HILVERS CATERING

The folks who set everything up were the best. Unfortunately the food was awful. The party was for me and I don't eat mayonnaise. However, every finger sandwich and the gallon of pasta salad had a mayo base. Wouldn't Hilver's have thought to ask whether we wanted a mayo or vinegar/oil based pasta salad? And why the need to put mayo on every sandwich, except for the ones with beef that had some sort of unidentifiable red sauce? Why not simply supply mayo packs? After throwing away most of the pasta salad since no one wanted it, and after throwing away most of the left over sandwiches, we were left with small cheese squares which were palatable. Even the crackers were stale, which we also tossed. But in retrospect, how can you foul up cheese unless you leave the mold on it. They also served a veggie tray that had approximately 60% 2" in length carrots. Hilver's must have a carrot supplier in their back pocket. I have used them in the past for Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra events and they've been fine. I guess this time since we only spent $710.00 we became second class citizens. Never again. Next event will be handled by Vonderhaar's catering.
