ACCOUNTABLE HOME CARE

Accountable Home Care is very nice. They came out the day after I called and their president called me to make sure I considered them. Their prices are reasonable compared to the others. I have no complaints about them. The only problem is I have to pay the person who comes out and then the company since they work with independent contractors.

My father was 98 years old and still living at home. He had become in need of more care than we, 3 daughters, 2 living out of town, could provide. We really wanted him to be able to stay in his own home. We had hired 2 other home care agencies who were adequate but no more than that. While talking to a home health nurse, we were given the name of Accountable Home Health Care. Anna came out to Dad's home the day after our call to her. She brought letters of reccommendation from previous customers with her. She was down to earth and very helpful. We decided to give Accountable a try. The next day Anna called with the names of the 2 care givers who she thought would be good matches for our dad. It turned out that Dad wasn't as comfortable with one of the aides, and after giving it a few weeks to see if he would adjust, we asked for and got another aide who fit much better with his personality. All three of the aides who came to Dad's home were respectful, helpful and very attentive to Dad. He loved their cooking and we could tell that he enjoyed their company. He died in his own home at night on September 3, with one of the aides, Carrie, sitting overnight by his bedside. They truely went above and beyond the call of duty. Carrie even came to our home on the day of the funeral to help us. I can't reccommend this home care agency enough. Because they are locally owned and not a franchise, their prices were more reasonable than the other 2 home care agencies that we had tried. This enabled us to be able to keep Dad in his own home, well cared for, until his death.
