Q's Moving Corp.

The crew arrived promptly and were very courteous and professional. The move went very smoothly. I would recommend Q's to anyone needing a moving company. I availed myself of a special here on Angie's List, so the cost was quite fair.

It went well. The only feedback I had was that it required an hour of time to be added to whatever purchase you made from movers, just to cover the moving of vault from the headquarters to the site and then from the next site to the headquarters. That wasn't super clear in the deal or even when I spoke with the company to sign everything up. So when I ended up finishing up and paying everything out, there was an extra hour on there that had to be paid mandatory. It was just a little unexpected, not that big of a deal, but it would have been good to know that ahead of time. It was an extra $115. Other than that, the guys were fine. They did everything well. It was a surprise at the very end of everything to have to shell out another hour because of it.

The move went very well. The 3 person crew was very efficient in packing and moving. They really hustled to ensure that the move was completed before the building's very strict move cutoff time. All of our stuff made it without any damage. I would definitely use this service again!

Q's was a great experience. Tom, Q, and the two other men in the crew were super-polite, fast, efficient, careful, completely on-time, and didn't break a thing. They did upsell me on a extra man at $25 per hour for 3 hours, but that made the job take less than the 4 hours I was anticipating, so it saved a little money. My wife and parents were there, and we all though they did a good job. Highly, highly recommended. They worked like athletes at the job.

They were punctual, and efficient.

This company was excellent from start to finish. They were very careful in getting all the information about the pick up location. The crew arrived 10 minutes early and had loaded up within 25 minutes! I had to race back to my home via subway to beat them and they had to come from 131st to 52nd....and New York City traffic is a challenge. I got there only minutes before them. They unloaded everything and I had intended to have them leave it all in my entrance way but they insisted in putting everything in it's place. They were fast, polite and extremely helpful. I would not hesitate to use them again. The cost was exactly what they had predicted and the whole operation took under the two hours that we had planned. I give them A++++++++!

The movers were on time. They were very careful with our belongings. Very professional.

They were very nice and very quick. They arrived on time and went right to work. We were done ahead of schedule. The only thing that I went wrong was they were so focused on getting finished at the first stop that they closed up the truck and left before I checked the house and we ended up having to make extra trips to get the rest of our stuff including the bedding, a toaster oven and all the stuff stored in the garage.

They crew was excellent!! They were on time and did everything that they should do.

Everything seemed fine until they changed the price. I needed tio call Angies list and arrange a refund, which took several days tying up the cash I needed to move by that weekend. Be aware that its a bait and switch proceedure, once they nail you with a special price, you will find out that they will charge you for driving to your house, and probably more...

We hired Q's moving corp. for a move that consisted of two apartments to a house. This was made absolutely clear to both John ( the owner ) and Christina THREE TIMES! We were sure to be very informative of the entire process to avoid any problems and make the transition as easy as possible. As someone moving two apartments, you don't want any additional surprises. We made it clear that we would need a large truck given the two apartment situation... John quoted my girlfriend 6 hours for the entire job but it ran to nine hours because of slow workers. In return we got a smaller truck that was not adequate for the job and therefore, some furniture was left behind because it did not fit... surprise! Adding insult to injury, the "professional" movers managed to pack all the remaining protective blankets behind the first apartments furniture in the truck. Due to this exceptional negligence my $1400.00 Room & Board bed was never wrapped or protected as it should have. This resulted in gashes, scrapes and damage all over. The pictures I posted are only a few of many scrapes and gashes covering my entire bed. Now it SEEMS Q's moving corp. has great reviews and that is why we decided on them but don't be fooled! We were very unfortunate to have chosen them. Q's moving corp. said they had insurance. Be warned! Their insurance only pays $0.30 cents per pound! That comes to a whopping $35.00 TOTAL for my damaged $1400 bed! I cannot stress how terrible this experience was. John is the the owner of Q's moving corp. He is very nice when he wants your business however, he can be very hot headed, rude and abrupt when the shortcomings of the services provided are brought to his attention. I had a lovely chat with him that evening as I was putting the bed together and noticed all the damage. He was definitely not co-operative or professional like he promotes himself and his company. He was constantly talking over me, cutting me off and never did he bother expressing his concerns. It was only after I threatened him with the better business bureau ( which I filed a complaint with ) that he collected himself and calmed down to offer a small portion of money which I did not accept. I will never use or refer Q's moving corp. to anyone as they are a terrible moving service. In contrast, I strongly feel the need to justify the wrongs and speak out against their business as much as possible. Considering my experience with the owner - of all people, I can't say I'm surprised. If you had a terrible experience with Q's moving corp. Please take the first step and file a complaint with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. John's shady business has ripped off enough trusting customers, it's up to us to set things right. [web link removed]

Below is a letter sent to Q's moving after my move with feedback that was ignored. Darren and his team showed up on time on moving day. We did a quick walk through and his team set to work on 3 floors of house. They were efficient and Darren seemed a good team leader. Here are a few specific pros / cons to my experience: Pros: (1)Darren checked-in 2-3 times during the day on whether I was happy with how things were progressing (2)Omar, one of the team members was friendly and ready to help out as needed. (3)When we arrived at the new place, I asked them to change around some heavy furniture because I didn't like the initial placement, and they were obliging. (4)Everything they took apart was put back together in good order, they even ended staying an extra 30mins just to finish re-attaching a treadmill panel that was removed for transport down stairs. That last piece by itself took some effort. Cons: (1)Soon after arriving I overheard some of the team talking openly in regular tones about how they got a $60tip/person at a recent job, and how that was really great. Was I supposed to hear that so that I provide a similarly high tip? (2)The backs of the sofa that were disassembled where not wrapped before being put in the truck, and when I advised Darren, he wrapped one of them (out of 3) and left the other two unwrapped. (3)They broke a stand lamp in the living room, and when I brought it up to Darren there was no real reaction. It's not worth much, so I am not seeking compensation, but own up to the mistake... (4)When they left for the day I found 3 items still wrapped with the plastic, which should have been unwrapped (I never requested that they stay wrapped) (5)There was a clear sense of rushing to get out at the end, even though it was only around 530pm when they left. (6)I called into the office that same evening 730pm saying I couldn't find a box. The office told me it was too late to reach the team then, but they would call on Saturday, the following day, and follow-up, and then get back to me. The office never got back to me. (I ended up finding the box a few days later, but I was still concerned until then) Payment terms: (1) When you(John) came by for the quote- it was provided at 4 ppl @ $145/hr. with a not-to-exceed price of $1305(which was verified by phone a few days later). The team logged 9 hours, which equals $1305. Why was I charged $1350 in the end? If it was an 8hour job, would the charge still have been 1350, 1305, or 1160? I would like to know, as it factors into my recommendation to others about using your services. (2) During our conversations there was no specificity provided on method of payment, therefore I assumed a check would be fine. This was a challenge on the day of the move, as when move was completed there needed further discussion to resolve it. You accepted a check, but this could have been avoided had there been some earlier clarification. Overall, I can say that I am not 100% satisfied, perhaps 85%. To be clear, I am NOT requesting any refund, just providing honest feedback I hope you would use to improve your services. If you would like to discuss anything further I would be glad to. Of course they never got back to me, to answer my question or seek further clarity. Enough of a lapse in judgement to warrant a downgrade to C from B, as it shows lack of true commitment to Quality service.

Showed up before time. Some of my stuff was grungy from being neglected but they were unfazed and packed everything I asked them to. Had all supplies including wrapping blankets and film. Packed all the stuff in their boxes - I didn't have to supply anything. Were courteous and responsive throughout. Highly recommended.

We hired 3 movers for 3 hours. They arrived a little before time and went over what we had requested. They were courteous, respectful, professional and hard working. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WE PLAN ON USING THEM AGAIN!!!

Three young and professional guys worked hard and fast to move us from a two bed apt to a ranch house. They had originally quoted 4 hours but these guys hustled and got it done in 3, saving us $140. They were great, highly recommend.

Perfectly. Angel and Joe arrived early, worked diligently, at times running between the truck and the elevator. They were courteous, conscientious, and efficient. Everything was delivered in exactly the same condition as it was in the truck, no damage to the apartment, and helped with unloading into the right place. Note: Q's was booked through SML (simple moving labor) website.

They were very professional. Introduced themselves soon as they arrived and went to work. Finished fast. Did what they were supposed to do no problems. Thank you.

I just want to say that they first packed me up by wrapping and padding all furniture, boxing all of my goods, wrapping and boxing all electronics and art so that nothing would be damaged. They inspected all of my furniture showing me things that were damaged before they touched it. But this moving company fixed the bottom of my buffet even though I damaged it myself before the move. They then carefully and professional moved all of my goods from a narrow hall way down two flights of stairs. Some pieces of furniture were so big they would not fit through the doors. They removed moldings and doors in order get things out carefully!! The Q's moving team was extremely careful, professional and polite. I am very pleased with this company and would recommend them to anyone!

The process went very smoothly and very professionally. the guys were very polite and attentive with my things. They did not leave until I was satisfied with everything. The owner was very patient and understanding. I highly recommend them.

These guys were amazing. The office people, specifically Anastasia were incredibly helpful and clearly understood my needs. The people who showed up to perform the move were even more amazing. Professional, caring, and thoughtful. They took a great deal of time to determine before the began the work the best way to maneuver through the house with out causing any additional issues. I'd recommend these guys anytime to anyone!

They gave me a special price because I was going to use their service again, but they had a very affordable price. They were also very attentive to my requests. There was nothing I disliked here, I had a very good experience with them.
