Lou was terrific! Even before the scheduled time for the appointment, Lou was on site inspecting the exterior and had already taken many pictures and notes. He let me tag along during the inspection and was a wealth of information and advice. He was a pleasure to chat with and was quite patient with all of my questions. When issues were spotted, he had no problem letting me know what I could fix myself and when I should hire a professional. He inspected everything in the home and it was easy to tell that he has a lot of experience and knowledge. I received a complete report, with pictures, through email the same day. I have used Lou twice and hand up buying the first house he inspected. I would definitely recommend INSPECT THIS to anybody and I will hire them again in the future.

Lou was very thorough and took his time inspecting my home. The subsequent report needed to be split out into interior and exterior sections because I live in a condo unit and I wanted to give the management company a list of issues that needed to be addressed by them. He was very accommodating in getting me the information the way I wanted. And, he explained everything as I tagged along while he was inspecting my home. He even gave me a couple of tips on how to save money when looking for a new central Air Conditioning unit.

Lou was great. He was able to get in right away, which is key in New York City where you have to get the inspection before contract signing and there is a line of people behind you trying to outbid you. He was thorough and detail-oriented and answered all my questions. I would recommend him and would work with him again.

Lou was very thorough and helpful. He started with the roof and pointed out what was up to code and what was not. This is an old house that needs a little TLC and Lou was able to show me where my priorities should go.

I showed up 20 minutes before the inspection was scheduled to begin, and Lou was already at work inspecting the outside of the home. I was really impressed with how punctual he was. He was very professional, friendly, took the time to talk me through what he was doing and the issues he was finding with the home. I shadowed him for the full 2 1/2 hours he took to inspect the house and asked multiple questions, and he happily answered them all. Just an example of how thorough he was -- when he was checking the kitchen appliances to make sure they were in good working order, he even heated a mug of water to test the microwave. He followed up over email with a thorough report of his findings.

Lou of Inspect This Home Inspections was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend for your inspection needs. After purchasing an Angie's List coupon, we were promptly contacted to set up an appointment. Lou arrived on time and began immediately bringing a ladder and his camera and inspected all areas of the roof (1st and 2nd floor) and chimney. After that point, we walked around the entire property and also went side to the attic areas, and he explained very thoroughly all the areas that need TLC and provided an estimate for remaining life expectancy. As relatively new homeowners, we do not have a lot of knowledge on maintenance and care for roofing, gutters, attic insulation and venting, and Lou was very patient to walk me through with detailed explanations and recommendations. His report (available online for download with a login and pw provided) was just as detailed as his explanation in person. He had many photos included and highlighted the exact areas that may need work. We very much value the investment in having an experienced and independent inspector and this report has helped us feel prepared and knowledgeable as we look for roofing contractors to begin the work that needs to be addressed.

Lou was awesome. We wanted an engineer in the home sooner rather than later so we called a couple of companies. Lou was the only one willing to squeeze us in on short notice (came the day after calling him). He arrived earlier than expected, which was nice. I was going to arrive late, but my wife was there for the beginning. He went over everything with her and explained everything in a way she could understand. When I arrived, he was in the basement explaining some termite damage to her and the realtor. He knew exactly what he was talking about and I trusted him 100%. He was extremely friendly and we talked about the old neighborhoods in Queens where we grew up (and still have family). The inspection was completed in a thorough and timely manner. He sent us the report that night which was earlier than expected! It was thorough, complete and organized. Extremely helpful since we needed everything done fairly quick. I would recommend him to anyone and would use him again if needed!

Was extremely professional, responsive and thorough. Spend four hours walking through the house inspecting everything, pointing out mirror issues as well as major ones. He answered every question we had. Was courteous and professional as well as friendly throughout the whole process. He provided follow up documentation quickly and it was a report of everything found and discussed. We were well informed when going into the home buying process because of the inspection provided. We were able to negotiate the cost of some of the repairs off of the price of the house as well as get something repaired for free under an existing contract. That repair alone was three times the price of the inspection, so the inspection was worth every penny and then some. The services that were provided were invaluable and helped us understand what were were getting into in buying our new home. We would highly recommend and use again.

Lou and his son arrived right on time and did a thorough inspection of the entire house. He is very professional, detail-oriented and good at explaining all of the different aspects of the engineer report. He went up on the roof even though it had snowed the day before and the hatch was difficult to get to. He warned us ahead of time that if it had been unsafe he wouldn't be able to inspect it, so I appreciate that he made the effort. His report included helpful photos with arrows/highlights of everything referenced in the report. He sent the PDF report within 48 hours of the inspection. I would use him again and recommend him to any friends who are looking to purchase a property or need an engineers report on their house.

Great. He started in the basement and slowly worked his way up to the roof. He even encouraged me to join him on the roof so he could show me exactly what was going on. He provided a full report with photographs that same day. Lou was 5 stars, excellent and I highly recommend him!

My wife and I have been looking for a home for nearly a year, and Lou was the fourth different home inspector we had hired throughout the process. The last home inspector we used we were quite happy with, but he was not around when we needed him for this most recent house we had interest in. Back on Angie's List, I spotted this company and the reviews looked good. Communicating with Lou was excellent - he was responsive and on time for the actual appointment, even showing up early to scout the perimeter of the property. He was the most thorough of any inspector we had previously dealt with. A big part of that has to do with the fact that Lou has tons of experience in home construction and home repair etc, so he left no "stone" unturned. He put his full efforts into making us aware of all issues, big and small. His discovery of termite damage in the garage and other faults helped us negotiate down on our original offer and we go into contract next week with complete peace of mind. Incredible guy! Im a first time home buyer and dont have much knowledge how things work in the house. Lou arrived earlier than appointment. He took his time to show and explain every minor detail in the house. This guy is very honest and you will feel that he clearly cares about providint the best service for his customers. His fee was also better than most other quotes i receved. He sent me report back very soon. It included pictures and description of every problem he found around the house. I highly recommend him.

Lou was very nice and professional. He took the time to explain many things and to help identify the source of some of the electrical problems I was having. Overall, it was a good service and I have peace of mind knowing that there aren't any major issues in my house.

I had a new roof installed in April 2014 and there were problems immediately. Several excellent roofers told me that it would have to be completely torn down and replaced but the original roofer disputed this. I hired Inspect This Home to provide a professional report on the condition of the roof. Louis Rubino came out promptly and spent a lot of time with me, going over the roof and explaining the problems. The same day he provided a written report with recommendations and photographs. I have already used his recommendations in discussion with the roofer who will redo the roof. I will hire Inspect This Home from now on whenever I have a major renovation project because Mr. Rubino is knowledgeable, generous with his time and advice, and - unlike contractors - does not have a financial interest in his recommendations. I wish I had known about him years ago!
