The chair we selected was a disaster - my husband was in agonizing pain sitting in the chair. I immediately checked our contract to read their return policy. The policy regarding left chairs was "must be returned within 3 days of purchase and require a 10% restocking fee". We called the next day and spoke with the owner, Ron, who said there was no problem and we could come in the next day - Friday, or Saturday - and he would be there to help us. We went on Saturday and no one was there to help us. We left word for them to contact us on Monday. No one called and we called again and left word three times and no one returned the call that day. On Tuesday, after several calls my husband finally spoke with someone named Sonia, the owner's wife, who was going to check catalogs to see if she could find another chair suitable to my husband's condition. She also said that someone would pick up the chair that day which they did. They again took my credit card number so that the amount could be credited to my account. After they left, I noticed that the paperwork I signed had the incorrect amount - it was a total of $1,226.79, $263.21 short. I immediately called and the first person I got tried to tell me there was a 15% restocking fee, when I corrected her, she put me on hold and someone else came on the line and told me there was a delivery fee and a pickup fee of $100.00 in addition to the restocking fee spelled out in the contract.. What it all boils down to is that they ripped us off for $116.00. I think their business practice borders on fraud. If there was a delivery fee it should have been included in the initial cost and we should have been advised of these extra charges. I would advise anyone to stay away from these crooks. I am 80 years and over the years have purchased hundred of items of furniture and appliances, etc. I have returned some items and have paid delivery fees, but they have always been spelled out in advance. No company should be allowed to add on fees at random after the sale. .
