Very good. We like the design and the 3-D renderings, however, my wife and I are still debating whether we will proceed for the full renovation or just a partial one.

The project went very well. Tom, the owner, oversees all the work and is quite accommodating. He provided a fair estimate in a timely fashion, and was very responsive to communications via email, text or phone, for the duration of the project. Most of the work was completed by Christian and Omar, who were fantastic! They showed up early every morning like clockwork, worked hard throughout the day, and always cleaned up after themselves nicely. Christian and Tom both offered helpful suggestions and solutions when various issues came up throughout (by no fault of their's), which gave us peace of mind and reduced the "stress" of completing home projects. We would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Two and a half bathrooms almost completely gutted and remodeled.

This was an extensive project which was handled very well by Allied. Tom, the owner, is accommodating and helpful. Christian and Omar were fantastic! hey showed up early each morning as expected, worked hard throughout the day, and always cleaned up after themselves. There was a lot of problem-solving to be done throughout (by no fault of their's) and we got help suggestions and solutions throughout. The prices were reasonable and the quality of the work was great. I would highly recommend Allied.

It went beyond well, It was done in less then two weeks, King and Emanuel and the men were respectful, considerate of my family and privacy and most of all my home. They actually knocked down some of my attic to accommodate my large soaking tub, which expanded the space. I would hire King and Allied Construction again in a minute but I have ran out of work in my house for them to complete. I am in love with my remodeled bathroom and I thank this contractor and the men who did the work.
Description of Work: Allied Construction remodeled my 30 yr old bathroom , this was the second bathroom they completed and they also renovated a garage. The bathroom is like a spa, King and his men did an excellent job with my special design requests for tiles, a soaking tub and pedestal sink , dual flush toilet, heat lamp, new lightening and a electrical outlet that had never been in my old bathroom

I had hired Allied to redo three bathrooms in my house last year, and was so happy with the experience that I hired them again this year to do my kitchen. Tom, the owner, is the most reliable and accommodating contractor I know of. He bends over backwards to make sure the customer is satisfied-- and I was admittedly not always the easiest customer to do that with. His prices are more than fair and he calmly and fairly handles any issues that may arise during construction. I will hire again!

We hired Allied because of the person sent to our house to give us an estimate, Christian. He appeared to know what he was talking about, was friendly and respectful and appeared to understand everything I wanted to do to the house. I was told that Christian was the one doing the work so I felt confident enough to hire the company to do the basement which I had already demoed, the upstairs kitchen and bathroom. It was our first time hiring a contractor and everything was new to us. We looked over the contract carefully but also did not really know what to look for. We also knew Christian had taken notes so we did not think there would be many misunderstandings. As soon as the work started, things changed, it was clear that is was going to be a quick money grab without care much care to what we wanted. They did make some sacrifices with things that I clearly explained at the estimate but I did not realize were left out of the contract. We fell into a factory mode and Christian was working at other jobs for several days. We inquired about him but were always told he can't come today, till one day we did not allow the workers to continue unless Christian was there. Him being there to do the work or supervise was the reason we hired them in the first place. While they are guard that it was not in the contract for him to be there, they did eventually agree to it. There was a elevated space in one room on which I wanted to build a platform for a bed which I had also explained in the walk through but they argued it's not in the contract so I bit my lip and gave that up. Now the deal breakers: They accumulated trash in the back yard as expected, but while we were away for 2 days we see a bunch of trash in the front of the house on the cameras, so I check to footage and discover that they brought trash from another job another house somewhere in a van and dumped it in front of my house, I guess to consolidate trash pickup. When I got back I find out that this trash if full of water bugs. It was discussing. I told them that it needs to be picked up that day, they agreed but no one came to pick it up, the next day, I called and they told me they can't get anyone to come pick it up that day either. So I want on Craigslist and posted the job and someone came within 2 hours which Allied then agreed to pay for. We felt disrespected and angry but we just wanted to house finished so we moved on. The Final Straw: The floor in the basement is not supper even, I told them that I wanted to put engineered boards down to which they agreed. I then was advised by Christian that Allure tiles which is a kind of soft plastic moisture resistant floor would be a better fit so I agreed. Then I was told, to do the Allure floors, I would have to buy about 80 bags of self leveling concrete that was not in the contract so I would have to pay for it. When I complained about it, I was told by the owner of the company that when ever I get a contract, I should expect to spend another 10-15 % in additional costs. I thought that was ******** and asked them to go with the original plan of engineered boards. They put in the boards and did a horrible job. The floor had waves were the boards where lifting off the floor in several places, I don't mean bobbles where the floor is uneven but waves like there is too much floor. When you walk on it, the waves would move. We asked them to fix it, they refused, saying that it's due to the uneven floors and that the contract says that they will place a floor on to of the "existing slab", we did not have the expertise to know what that means. If they would have said the floor will be deformed and move when you walk on it, we would and be able to make an informed decision about it. We ended our contract with them and did not allow them to continue the kitchen upstairs and the bathroom. One year later, the floor has popped in several places, were the boards just pop out from walking on it and can not be put back in unless cut. I tried to fix the first pop but now see that the floor will have to be completely redone. The sink in the bathroom and in the kitchen both started leaking after a few weeks. While they did a nice job framing and putting up dry walls, there are little grout mountains in the corroborate of the tiles and heavy grout stains on the wall tiles in the bathroom. My rating for price is due to the fact that they thought it would take more money to complete but left it out of the contract to get the job. My rating on professionalism is not a relegation of their attitude, Christian was always very nice but they decision to dump trash from another property on ours without asking and full of water bugs.
Description of Work: Finished basement. Was also hired for first floor kitchen and bathroom but we stopped them after the basement.

Response from Allied Construction Corp
We have been in this business for many decades because we always work to do the right thing. It is unfortunate that I am hearing about this for the first time now. However, there are a few things that need to be clarified: 1. CONTRACT: Everything that we agreed upon, was placed in the contract with an agreed upon price. We completed all of the line items in the contract per our agreement. 2. ELEVATED SPACE: The house has an uninhabitable partial crawl space that has approximately a 3 foot height clearance. The customer wanted us to build him a platform on which he could place a bed in this area. This area is in no way inhabitable by code. We informed the customer of this and also informed him that for liability purposes we would not be able to build a makeshift platform for him in this area. 3. FLOOR LEVELING: We gave the homeowner very specific advice about leveling his floor. Most of the floor was flat however there were certain areas that were higher than normal and other other areas that were sloping. We advised him that tile would be a better choice for this area and we advised against using a floating laminate flooring system in this area unless he incurred the additional expense of leveling the concrete or installing a subfloor. He said tile was too expensive and wanted to use a click and lock floating laminate floor despite our advice. 4. GARBAGE: 2 bags of debris were taken out of our van temporarily to pick up materials for the customer. Once the customers materials were delivered to the house the bags of debris were placed back in our van and taken away the same day. I think the customer is confusing the 2 bags of garbage that we took with us with the many bags of garbage in the back yard. There were additional bags of garbage from demo work that was done on the back of the house by us as well as bags of garbage in the backyard from work that the homeowner had done. We agreed that he would have the backyard garbage picked up instead of incurring the cost of a dumpster service. 5. ADDITIONAL KITCHEN AND BATH: We never spoke about doing an additional kitchen or bath remodel on the First Floor for him. It is unfortunate that this customer feels this way about his experience. However, for liability reasons we cannot do work that is a code violation. Also, if the customer felt he needed additional clarification about our contract, I would have been happy to sit with him and review it again. It should be noted that we agreed upon each point in the contract together and he signed the contract.

It was great, I had wanted to remodel my bathroom for 28 years. My idea was to create a walkin shower from my daughters next door closet. I wanted all new bathroom fixtures, floors and vanity and to keep my cast iron tub. It came out beautiful beyond my expectations. However, even more then appreciateing my gorgeous bathroom, I really have to give " King" the project manager a great deal of credit. First of all he was so honest. I gave him an extra $4780, not realizing I had over paid him and argued with him that I "had not" over paid him. Secondly he was very professional and effective he helped me select the best elements of my remodel and thirdly he was very respectful to my family and so was his men. Thank you Allied Constuction and special thanks to King. I would like King to come back and remodel my upstairs bathroom.

We were very pleased with Allied Construction and the way our master bathroom, closet renovation turned out. The work was high quality, the price was fair and they were very clean in the midst of such a big project. Even when an unexpected problem arose they were more than fair in coming to an agreed solution. I would definitely recommend.

Amazing! Tom came by to do the estimate. He was very friendly, respectful, and told us how we could save money on the job. He had his guys here the following week. Demo went well, and the guys (David and Dennis) worked hard everyday. Showed up at 8am, took only 30 mins for lunch in their van, and worked until 4:30pm each day without even a break. The bathroom was from the 1950s and was completely gutted. The bathroom remodel took 6 full working days and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! Thank you Tom & company for taking our bathroom from 1954 to 2016 in a quick and painless way! The workers also cleaned up everyday after they were finished working. We are looking forward to working with Tom and Allied on future projects.

Remodeling two small bathrooms while people are still in the house is not easy. The complete job was done in 2 1/2 weeks. Guys showed up at 7 am every morning and worked through the day without a lot of fuss or muss even when we hit a few snags like when the wrong deco tiles were delivered and the shower doors came in a day late. I will definitely be using this company with exterior and interior jobs.
Description of Work: I had two small bathrooms in need of overhaul. Both bathrooms were gutted, old pipes replaced, plumbing reworked. One shower stall was built as well as one small wall, and all new fixtures were put in place as well as floor to ceiling tiling. Tom helped me figure out the process and answered all my questions. Very courteous and polite. I had interviewed several contractors and Tom not only gave me the best price, he was also the most detailed about the cost of each part of the job. And fair!

Workers used my equipment (vacuum, shop-vac, hammers, drop-cloths, saw, screwdrivers and others). The shop-vac and the vacuum were useless after that. There was some heavy dust from work on foundation of home that they cleaned up with my vacuum and shop-vac. I kept coming home to find more and more of my tools being used? Even after telling him no, still going on. He told me he would pay for the shop-vac, but he never did. Instead it was a bartering tool to get someone in to finish the last window (see below). He had to come back three times to finally get last window installed - some 3 months later. And... low and behold that window now doesn't open any more. Crap product, or shoddy work? His initial visit to our home was prolonged by him telling me he did work on Donald Trump's home, long story teller. I should have been flagged right there, but shame on me. HIs initial quote did not give an estimate as to when work would be done. I asked him about that and he said 'you'll have to trust me, I own't screw you.' But he did. The work was verbally quoted to be done in 2-3 weeks. It took over 2 months - 4 months if you invlude that last window. . This was the first time my wife and I hired someone to work on the home. Just like them and others who have given us these same stories... his mother died during construction, his worker got into an auto accident and he himself was rushed to the hospital with a heart problem. I think every construction guy's mother dies on every job; just to extend the work schedule. . He was a professional scammer. . Anyone who would like to come visit my home to see his lousy work is welcome. I wouldn't hire him to cut my rose bush. Not trust worthy and hardly there. Drops the workers off and disappears. . I lived and learned.
Description of Work: He did repair work after winter storm ripped an aluminum porch off the back of the house. Several Windows. Insulation. Roof damage. installed egress window.

Response from Allied Construction Corp
Hi everyone. I'd like to respond to this review by saying I'm sorry this customer was not satisfied with our work because I made every attempt to make him and his wife happy. Now that he has written his story i'd like to point out the true facts, not the stories he is saying on this forum. First of all i'd like to say that my mother is alive and well. After losing my father on January 31, 2013 it was the most devastating time of my entire life. I DID NOT, WILL NOT and NEVER WILL say my mother died to use as an excuse not to finish a job on time. It is really messed up how [Member Name Removed] can even say something like that. That being said these are the facts. Yes my workers did use his shop vac ONE time because it was the end of the day and our shop vac just died on us. Rather than leaving a mess for the homeowner we asked his wife if we can use the shop vac in the garage just for today. She said it was not a problem. I agree my guys should not have used it regardless. That was wrong even with the wifes permission. That part is true. The part that we damaged it is not true and that we used his other tools is also a lie. My guys come to work with a van full of tools and drop clothes etc. Anyone who has used us can vouch for that. As far as the work we were contracted to do is a complete rip up of the entire roof and installed complete new roof. I have the Invoice showing that I received a Deposit of $7,611.86 on 8/6/2013 so this would be about 9 months prior to when [Member Name Removed] is stating we did the job for him. It states Complete date of May 1, 2014 at the top of his review. The Final Payment was received on 9/10/2013 in the amount of $14,573.14. He states we took 2-4 months to Complete the work however if this is true that we finished in May 2014 that would mean we actually Completed the job 10 Months after we started. This is another lie he states. I only deal with facts and things that I can prove with paper work. So if we look at the dtae of the deposit of 8/6/2013 till the Final Payment which is due at Completion on 9/10/2013 the project would have taken no more than 4 weeks. I'm sure we all agree no one would pay a Contactor a Final Payment of more than $14,000 before he was Complete and before they are Fully Satisfied. As far as me being rushed to the Hospital for a heart problem is also absurd. I have all Paperwork including Contract and Invoice to prove my statements are true and to corraborate everything I am saying. I would be more than happy to share with anyone that is interested in seeing them. On the Invoice it also showes the Credit for NOT replacing the one window he is complaining about because according to him it wasnt damaged and didnt need replacing. By the way I did come back 3 weeks later because he said that window was leaking and I did replace it at NO CHARGE to him just to make sure he was happy. The window took 2 weeks to order and was installed the following week. I dont know why someone would wait 3 years to make a Review on something he was SO dissatisfied with. Anyway this is all I have to say which is also the truth. He is probably upset that I didnt Inflate my Estimate Price so he can make money from his Insurance Company that paid the claim. I feel sorry for people that need to say these lies to make themselves feel better. I have and always will put my Customers First and I have MANY Satisfied Customers that CAN VOUCH for that. Thank You, Tom Katsaros President of Allied Construction

King came out and provided an assessment of what work was needed and sent me an estimate. I had a couple other estimates, but it seems those other contractors inflated the pricing, so my insurance company gave the okay based on Allied's estimate. It was the most accurate in terms of work needed and cost. I had to wait a few months for the right time, but once I had a date, I called Allied and they scheduled my bathroom. I was able to meet with a designer who helped put my vision of my new bathroom together. We picked out the tiles, fixtures, everything. With every step, Allied/King was there to answer questions, provide additional information and give guidelines. Finally, we started the work. The team worked smoothly and quickly through the demo and the work. In 1 week, my dreadful, disgusting, unbearable bathroom became an amazing, beautiful oasis!! I can't get over how great it all turned out, and I know it would not have if I did not have this amazing group of people working on my behalf!!! I have taken so many pictures and shared with everyone I know, I can't say enough good things. I will definitely call and use Allied Construction again for upcoming projects and highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest pricing, dependable work and outstanding results!!

Overall we are very pleased with the work done by Allied. Tom came to our house and provided a helpful and informative proposal. The work was done on time and we are very pleased with the end result. Tom is responsive and accessible. Christian and his team were professional and helpful. When problems arose they were helpful in addressing solutions. We fully expect to use Tom and his company going forward for work on our house. The only issue we had with the project, and this is something that falls on us as well, is that we really know nothing about home renovation work. We had really expected clear guidance from Tom as to what we needed to do and the materials we would need to purchase. Tom described his proposal as a shopping list and he was responsive when I would email questions about whether something would work. However, there was confusion about certain items, which lead to scrambles during the week of the work, which caused stress and delay as we tried to get the appropriate parts/items that we would have gotten ahead of time if we knew the issues. Again, we are extremely happy with the work, and found the price extremely reasonable, but for someone who has no clue about what they are doing and wants a contractor to carefully walk through the process and do more "hand holding", I would just be cautious (and this likely applies to most contractors). If we were doing another bathroom, I now know so much and am sure things would go perfectly with Allied. I just wish the education process was easier/smoother. But to emphasize, I would not hesitate to use Tom and his company again, and we certainly will do so. We highly recommend Allied.

When they were removing my roof they found an extra layer that was not supposed to be there... It went very well even with a complication that was left from the contractor that put on the roof before this one. They got everything done efficiently and also very courteous. The cleanup was remarkable. The job was done very quickly even with the complications that did arise. One of the best companies that I have worked with in 70 years... I would recommend them to any one...

I waited a long time to write this review, giving Allied a chance to right their wrongs. That has not happened. Full details below. The company was very responsive after I purchased the Big Deal, and we scheduled the work shortly thereafter. My original roof was about 27 years old. There were no issues with the roof, I was just trying to be proactive in having it replaced. I have two skylights, and I assume they were just as old. I specifically asked during our consultation about the skylights - whether they should be replaced or if they would be affected by the work. I was told no, they didn't need to be replaced, and no, they wouldn't be affected by the work. The roof was put on, and I was pleased. A month later, we got heavy rains, and I had water pouring in from the corners (at the base of the drywall) of one of my skylights. I immediately contacted the project manager who worked on my roof. He said he would come and take a look. He sent his foreman (young kid) who spent a few minutes on the roof, told me he couldn't find a problem but would re-silicone everything. Fast forward a few weeks, I still had water coming in. Again, I contacted the project manager. He and his foreman came out this time. Again, they couldn't diagnose a problem. They removed the shingles, put down all manner of protection (ice shield, flashing cement, etc.), re-shingled and were on their way. Fast forward a year, I still have water issues in certain weather conditions. I sent an email to Allied, told them the situation, and that I would like to have someone different come out and diagnose the problem. I received a call from the owner, and he told me my original project manager would contact me. The project manager never contacted me. An awkward three-way phone call later, and I was in touch with the same project manager. I told them to just give me an estimate on replacing the skylights. They cancelled their original estimate appointment because the foreman "forgot his ladder" - not joking - that's the reason I was given. I haven't heard from them since. I have since contacted another company. The owner came, took one look at the water stains and immediately had an idea of what the problem was. He went on the roof and confirmed. Not only did he diagnose the skylight, but he found issues with the chimney flashing, pointed out that my chimney needed some repointing, that my crown needed repairs, informed me that my bathroom vents weren't venting to the roof but directly to the attic, and offered to check that my soffets had proper ventilation holes to the attic. Everything was supported by pictures and detailed conversations. He quoted me for all the work and discussed in detail that we could make repairs if it wasn't in the budget to out-and-out replace everything. From this experience, I have deduced that Allied is just a sales machine. I'm sure the project manager from Allied was a subcontractor, and a poor one at that. There was a clear lack of knowledge there, evidenced by the fact that he couldn't determine the issue. The owner of Allied, despite tough and concerned-sounding talk, did nothing to follow-up with me to make sure I was receiving the proper service after all these problems. While I wasn't charged for any of the follow-up visits by the subcontractor, they did use my extra shingles which were never replaced. Bottom-line, these guys don't know what they're doing. Having the skylights replaced AFTER having the roof done is, without a doubt, costing me more money than if I had replaced the skylights at the same time. I'm left with water damaged and stained drywall around the skylight and down the adjacent wall, and I'll no doubt have to pay for drywall and paint work, too. They're not skylight experts, they're not roof experts, they're not customer service experts. I would not recommend that anyone use Allied for a roof. How they have an A-rating is pure chance, in my eyes. Find yourself a smaller company that will do the work themselves and guarantee it. Night and day between Allied and the other company I contacted.

Response from Allied Construction Corp
Please note the following: 1. This review is primarily about the failure of a skylight that was not installed by our company, not about a defective roof. 2. Many skylights leak due to roofing installation errors, however, this skylight is leaking currently due to a failure of the skylight itself. 3. Skylight failure due to manufacturing defects are a manufacturing failure not a failure on the part of the original installer and certainly NOT a failure of the re-roofing company. 4. Premature skylight failure is not associated with normal wear and tear. 5. Even though the skylight failed a year and a half later through no fault of our own, we were prepared to replace the skylight at the same price it would have cost the homeowner had he decided to change it when we first re-roofed the home. 6. We discussed preparing an estimate with the client and we were pending a call back from him with additional information that we needed. As we were waiting for the homeowner to contact us back, he secured another roofing company that gave him an estimate that was 3 times more than our price and included items that were not directly related to a re-roof. Allied is a Certainteed Manufacture Certified Roofer. Our roofing superintendent has over 15 years experience roofing homes. It is common practice to replace an old skylight or skylight that has problems while simultaneously replacing the roof. In many cases a skylight is not replaced if it is intact and functional. Many contractors push their clients to take the most expensive options in order to increase their profits. As a practice, we do not do that. We instruct our project managers, superintendents and other employees to explain the pros and cons of different options with our customers and allow them to make their own decision based on the facts presented. We offer all our customers flat rate skylight replacement labor pricing + the cost of the skylight whenever we do a roof. We regret that the customer chose to secure another company to do the work at 3 times the price of what we were charging. However, we will be more than happy to honor our price for the skylight replacement if he should choose for Allied to do the work.

We had a bathroom with no tub, no sink or toilet. We hired Allied to pipe the room before other contractors would come to do electrical work and then raise walls etc. They did their job accurately. They were clean and professional. We are considering them to complete the entire job.
Description of Work: August 27th he came in to do some work on the bathroom.

Allied Construction is wonderful. From start to finish, they were professional and trustworthy. King Cheek, the person I dealt with was phenomenal at organizing the renovation and dependable in every way. The workers were perfect- good people who did a wonderful job. Actually, better than I ever expected. Thank you to them and to Angie's list. I had had at least 5 other contractors come to give estimates. They were either terribly over priced, never showed up or never kept their appointments. Allied was wonderful and helped me solve some construction problems that had been giving me nightmares for a year. Thanks again!

I had worked with Allied before, so I had them back! Tom, the owner/manager, came out and gave me an initial estimate. Then whenever I had any additional questions, Tom came again to my home personally and/or picked up on the first ring when I called him and/or immediately called me back! He was very hands-on with the project; working with the crew and/or stopping by daily to check on the quality and progress of the work! His crew, led by foreman Manuel and including workers Jimmy and Valentino, were amazing! They all have a lot of experience, knowledge, and expertise in the construction field!!! These men came every day on time and worked hard all day to get the job done!! They were punctual, professional, and meticulous! Manuel was so helpful in making design suggestions and trouble shooting! They worked so hard that they finished the job in four days instead of the estimated 6 days for completion!!! Manuel and his crew and their work was so meticulous with the details, as well as being kind and patient with my pickiness!!! They answered any questions I had and kept me in the loop through out the entire process!!!! Finally, when the job was completed they did a complete and thorough clean up of the premises. My bathroom came out awesome!!! Imagine a Cape Cod/Nantucket-styled dream bathroom come to life!!! Tom even suggested the bathroom paint color and it looks awesome!!! I have gotten nothing but compliments on the bathroom from friends and family since the work was completed!!! I would definitely recommend Allied, especially Manuel and his crew!!! In fact, I am putting in a new floor in my den in October and have already booked Allied again and requested Manuel and his crew to do the work!!! I will try to attach photos to this review but I'm not that computer savvy, so if you would like to see the finished project and the photos don't make it on to the review, then ask Tom, he has photos!

Overall, very happy with work and company. Tom is very understanding and professional. They had many great ideas that added to the finished product as well. If you get Christian as your foreman you're in good hands. Project got off to a rocky start as they were using a couple new workers to get things going. I was unhappy with progress and called Tom (owner) and informed him as such. To my surprise Christian stopped by that same day and he also was not pleased with progress . So Christian and his crew showed up bright and early the next day and took over. Things dramatically improved. From that point on everything went extremely well. Crown molding and new walls in bedroom are flawless. (it was a complete gut). Bathroom came out very nice as well. Entire project was done in 6 days. Job was promised to be done in 6 days it took one additional day. considering the rocky start that was pretty amazing. But Christian and his crew worked very tirelessly to compensate for that. I absolutely would use allied again in the future. Quality of work for the price I would have to say was a good value. We supplied all finishing supplies (tile, fixtures ,etc) for bathroom. Allied supplied all building related materials.

First, let me say that it was a pleasure working with King Cheek at Allied Construction. He was accommodating, and understood , and worked within my financial restrictions. My bathroom looks AWESOME. The work was done within four days. I wish I could post pictures. In fact, I'll find a way to add a link thru Pinterest. I received reasonable pricing, great and efficient work, and superb customer service. Would definitely use Allied Construction again, and highly recommend them
Description of Work: I had the bathroom remodeled. Everything was gutted, except the bath tub. I couldn't find a bath tub to replace the one I had. I had a window installed. Floor, walls, everything was removed, and new sheetrock, window, tiles, toilet, sink, were installed.
