Description of Work: Remove part of the wall and ceiling in my Kitchen and bedroom. Then used cleaning solutions to kill the mold and left industrial dehumidifiers and air filters in my house for several days. They left the house clean and mold free, I was delighted with the results. Mike even fixed my storm door, great guy and very knowledgeable.

Description of Work: Scrubbed, and cleaned joists and debri in crawl space after Sandy. This was a second cleaning needed due to porous surfaces which prior contractor did not address properly. I felt confident going into this project that I was going to be fully satisfied. I still am and in fact I have recommended Michael to a neighbor. He was great, he explained what was going to happen and what to expect. I would not think twice to use him again.

Description of Work: We recently utilized the services of Michael Shain of New York Indoor Air Quality Solutions. We thought we might have a mold problem and called Mr. Shain after consulting Angie's list. Mr. Shain arrived promptly at the appointment time. He conducted a thorough investigation and advised us he did not believe we had a mold problem.. He gave us some excellent suggestions to rid our basement of a musty smell and did this at no charge. We were impressed by Mr. Shain's promptness, professionalism and honesty. He could easily have run several tests which would have cost several hundred dollars, but he honestly advised us that the tests were not warranted. We will certainly call Mr. Shain should we need any environmental testing in the future.

During these troubling times when it is difficult to reach someone my experience with Michael and his crew was just the opposite. He is totally responsive, experienced and cares about identifying air quality issues in the home. He takes responsibility for his work and is committed to providing the best service for his clients. Michael Shain would often contact me after the rip out and remediation to check to see how we were feeling. His follow up was amazing. He resolved my problem. He is a true professional, a breath of fresh air in these diffcult times. I would not hesitate to recommend him to investigate air quality problems.

Description of Work: My wife & I had been having sinus, sniffling & congestion problems for a long time. We heard of NY Air Quality Solutions thru a good friend & called them for a free phone consultation. We spoke with the owner, Michael Shain who asked us many relevant questions, which enlightened us to why we were having poor indoor air quality. We were impressed & invited him in to test the quality of air in our home. His people used the latest, state of the art equipment & were most thorough in their testing process. We were quite shocked to find out that our home had considerable mold & other allergens, which, he suggested were the probable causes of our physical discomfort. We have forced air heating & even though we have the ducts cleaned regularly, the mold & other allergens already in the carpet, fabric & furniture in our home were in ample abundance to cause our distress. What we considered extremely valuable was that NYIAQS not only identified the elevated triggers that were aggravating our health, but they also identified just how to eliminate them completely. We hired the company at a most reasonable price to rid our home of these contaminants &, once again, using the most modern equipment & under the active supervision of Mr. Shain, his people came in and did a most thorough & efficient job. This was several months ago. At present, my wife & I feel significantly better, far more comfortable & we've had far fewer symptoms of congestion than we've had in a very long time. For both of us, being over 80, this has been a huge step forward in the improvement of our health and overall quality of life. We're quite indebted to Mr. Shain for the high quality of his work, from evaluation to remediation of our air problems. We'd not hesitate to recommend him to others with unqualified enthusiasm.
