Hi, I am an old customer of Select Basement for many years. This is my incredibly happy and satisfied review on the service call by Kenny M. First the backstory. The alarm went off on my battery backup on Wednesday early evening I called Select several times and no one got back to me. I just wanted to know if this was a serious problem. Considering all the rain we were having that week. This was unusual for Select not to return my call in a timely manner from the great service I had received from Select Basement for many years. I explained to the customer service representatives who took my calls who were very professional and tried to help but to no avail no one called me to answer my question. I received a called back Friday morning to set up an appointment for Monday to look at the alarm on the battery backup to the sump pump. I inquired if our annual maintenance check could be performed at the same time and was told yes. Monday morning Kenny called to say “He was on his way”. My appointment was at 8, he arrived 7:45. This was great because I had a 9:00 virtual business meeting. I explained my frustration with Select Basement and merging with Groundworks. Kenny took the time to explain the system changes and how things work now with Groundworks. Kenny proceeded to look at the battery and said it is working properly now. He asked how long we have had it. I said several years he recommend changing the battery, which he did. Kenny also performed the maintenance of flushing the French drain system to make sure that is still working fine. He took several pictures along the way to validate what he was doing. He addressed the dehumidifier that we have, he adjusted it so it would drain into the nearest little french drain hole. Kenny did a great job. He was careful to address all the issues that he thought needed to be addressed. Kenny was very professional and respectful technician leaving no mess behind. Our water has a lot of iron ore, Kenny cleaned the ore around the pump and also offered a recommendation on how to reduce the ore around the pump. He also explained the difference in the service pricing for the warranty offered. I appreciated Kenny taking the time to explain everything that Groundworks now offers to their customers. I know Select Basement and Groundworks merged only a few months back. However, the most important thing is customer service. If I called on Wednesday night thinking I am having an emergency, I should not have to wait for my call to be returned on Friday morning. I text Jason from Select Basement late that evening since no one got back to me right away . Jason responded right away and put my fears to rest and suggested a few options for the alarm shut off that did not work. He said he would pass the issue to the one of the managers. There has to be better response to customer when several calls are made with not even a touch point call back. Thank God by basement was not flooded. Select would have lost a customer.

The entire team was a pleasure to work with. Extremely fair pricing and incredibly responsive to all inquiries. They recommended the best solution, gave us plenty of upgrades to consider but they were not pushy. Work went very smooth and the crew pushed beyond the normal end of work day to get the job done in one day. Would definitely hire again.

The work went well, BUT I have yet to get a recite for work performed. Makes you worry that I can't prove work was done by professionals, also for any warranty work needed. This alone soured the whole deal and I may not recommend then also it casts a shadow of doubt to your credibility.

Someone came out in October to look, made suggestions about how to fix the problem, but no one got back to me with an estimate. I sent a message recently, with no response.

Company showed up on time , consulted with me about the work to be done . Tom , the supervisor came back to me any time he had a question about demo . In about 7 hours basement stripped , drains jack hammered , piping , stone , pumps installed , all debris taken away , a good cleanup of everything including power washing of basement floor . Next day came back and cemented drains and installed microbial barrier on walls . Total time of job about 10 hours . What did I do , sat on a lawn chair out front of my house ! I have never seen such work done like this , all the men worked very hard and as this was during the heat wave all the more impressive . I would definitely recommend Select Waterproofing , they are great !!

Fabulous! From estimate to completion of work, the team at Select exceeded my expectations. They were not the cheapest but I thought they were the most honest in their estimate of work needed. My basement is dry for the first time in 50 years! Work was done in one day. Tommy and his crew of three workers arrived on time and completed the job leaving no mess. They could not have been any nicer and answered all my questions. They designed the system to impact upon my finished basement as little as possible. We have had substantial rainfall since the completion of work and so far, I am bone dry!

Very professional job from the beginning. Damon came out right away to provide an estimate which was detailed and easy to understand. Took the time to explain what was needed and answered all my questions. The team that came out on the day the work was performed were on time and professional. I did have a problem unfortunately right away with the Santa Fe dehumidifier in that it was not lowering the humidity as intended. I called Damon and after sending him some pictures of the settings on the unit he confirmed that the unit was not functioning properly and immediately said (without any effort from me) that they would replace the unit. They brought the new unit a couple of days later and it has been working great since then.

They showed up in a timely fashion. They returned phone calls. They were neat and clean. It took them two days at the most. There were four people that came out.

extremely professional, no mess. so happy with job I asked that the company come back and do a epoxy finish of the basement floor which also was done superbly.

The guys from Basement Select were both professional and very honest with me. They had to dig and install a footing in the basement of my very old house before putting on the French drain. It took a few more days than planned, before the lack of footing was a surprise, but they came on a Saturday to finish the job and left the basement in perfect condition. I would recommend them to anyone who asks.

Mike from Select basement gave fair price, next day availability and removed kitchen cabinets and sitting arrangements so much carefully that nothing was broken and I was able to put those back. We never had flooded basement after his work. My house is down the hill so sump pump was releasing so much water that it was hard to cut grass as it was muddy. I called him after 6 months and he solved the problem in minutes. He knows his work very well. He also told me that I can call him any time if I need. What else any one want?

It went very well -- Andy was punctual and arrived on time. He was very friendly and courteous, and he explained specifically what he was planning to do during the visit. After the job was completed, he reviewed the items and explained what he saw. He left the work area as it was, clean and free of debris. Andy is an excellent representative of Select Basement, a company I've used before, and a company I plan to use again in the future.

The job went very well. Crews were on time, professional, clean and really went out of their way to get the job done quickly and effectively.

Tommy and Dylan called ahead of time, arrived on time, and were as courtesy as you could hope for. They answered all questions and encouraged anything I wanted to see. They were neat and swept up after themselves. I could not have expected anything better. We know there are additional drainage issues we need to deal with in the future, and I would call these guys back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

By the time we called Select, I'd consulted with three other basement companies about a puddle we were getting in our basement. The first two had recommended a completely new drainage system for our basement (one at a price of ~$4k, the other at $14k — yes, $14k), despite already having one, while the third had said it wasn't a problem with out drainage. DJ came down and took a look to see what was up. Not only was he very friendly, knowledgable, and took his time, but he also arrived at the conclusion that, while it was possible there was a problem with our drainage, he didn't think that was the issue. He recommended holding off on any work until we could figure out the issue as he didn't feel comfortable doing basement work without a clear idea of what was happening. No sales pitch, just an apology for not being able to figure out exactly what it was and a promise to come back if we needed work. Turns out, he was right: it wasn't our drainage at all, just one of the boilers in the basement on the fritz. While I can't speak to their work, compared to the first two companies we used, Select were wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

David Arnold 856-308-5855 The representative arrived on time and provided an estimate for installing french drain, vapor barrier, dehumidifier. This was acceptable and I may hire for proposed work. However the work that I purchased on Angie's List was not completed, see notes below. The purchase on Angie's list was for the following: $95 for an in-depth foundation inspection, crawlspace inspection (Not performed), home water leakage inspection (not performed), and drainage analysis (not performed) used for creating a preventive water leakage plan Includes a diagram of your home with elevations of your foundation (no diagram was provided and no elevations were measured). Comprehensive results and analysis of inspection, including current foundation and drainage conditions (not performed)

This was a big project for my wife and I. We were very concerned about the overall cost and the structural integrity of the house foundation as the basement was being excavated. Jerome and Damon did an outstanding job for us and made sure we were comfortable with the entire process. Damon was especially attentive -- he is thoughtful, intelligent, resourceful and provided excellent service and advice. The few problems that came up were dealt with quickly and I am extremely happy with the result - a clean, dry work space with a nice flat floor. 95% of the job was completed in 5 days. I am still amazed by this given that all the excavated material and the new concrete was handled in 5 gallon buckets exclusively. The other amazing thing was how much the crew actually enjoyed the work; I wish I had as much fun on the job as the Select Basement crew - that tells me that Jerome treats his people the right way. Anyway, thanks guys for a terrific job.
