Description

At Montclair Breast Center your breast health is our only priority. We give you the attention, medical expertise and experience that you deserve. Our dedicated team of nationally recognized radiologists and breast surgeons offers you a complete multidisciplinary experience all under one roof. All focused on you, even though insurance will not pay for it. Therefore, we are intentionally "out-of-network" physicians (we object to the insurance term "provider" which objectifies all physicians as a commodity). We do offer personalized assistance to help with your financial concerns, including insurance reimbursements and payment plans for certain procedures. The final cost may not necessarily be more and being out-of-network means we're always looking out for you, not looking at ways to limit the time we dedicate to you. Don't deny your breasts the care they deserve. Discover a more respectful, compassionate approach to the best breast care possible. Call us today to set up an appointment at (973) 509-1818. Montclair Breast Center has received the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence designation by the American College of Radiology and is among the top 6% of all centers in the U.S. to receive this level of accreditation. Medical facilities that receive this designation must not only demonstrate excellence in Mammography, but in Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Breast Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy. Montclair Breast Center are excellent, 5-star rating. I can't think of anything I don't like about them there. I usually go on a year check-up but I'm going about six months and I'm scheduled to go beginning of August. They're very, very caring. They just look out for the patients and how they feel not just diagnosing. They just make you feel like you're being taken care of and they are doing it, ...

A few months later, I went to Montclair Breast Center (MBC) for the first time. Everyone in the office was very friendly and considerate, starting at the front desk right through check-out. After the mammography was done, Dr. Elliot examined me and told me a cyst was present on the x-ray. We discussed my past history; she said she wanted to do a sonogram to get a clearer picture and if it was a cy...

Description of Work
I started going to Montclair Breast Center for mammograms about 7 years ago. My family history is such that I have had an annual mammogram for the past 15 years. I had been going regularly to one center for the first 8-9 years because it is best to have prior years' films available for comparison. A very small irregularity was discovered at one of these exams and I was told to follow-up with another exam in 6 months because the radiologist couldn't determine if it was simply a cyst or something more. Well, these follow-up exams continued for 2 1/2 years and there was no change so the radiologist stated that it was probably a cyst because it had scarcely changed in size. I was never informed that there were other options other than follow-up exams. Shortly after this diagnosis of no change, I read a news article concerning licensing and staffing issues at several imaging centers in the State of New Jersey and the facility I had been going to was among those listed. At one of my early visits, I had experienced a "staffing issue" and recalled that the radiologist, upon reviewing the films, had even commented to me that this particular film was the shortest exam and likely the fastest visit I'd ever had in all the years I had been going there. I then became concerned about my latest exam. I had met Dr. Elliot years before when she first opened her own office. I attended a free seminar on prevention and treatment of breast cancer presented by Dr. Elliot and a couple of years later (I kept her business card because I liked her), I sent a friend to Dr. Elliot when she found a lump on her breast and her doctor's advice was to watch it. My friend was very pleased with Dr. Elliott and the treatment she received, which was to remove the lump. The only reason I had not previously gone to Montclair Breast Center was distance - I live about 30 miles from the office. I called Montclair Breast Center and spoke with a caring, knowledgeable woman and related my background and concern. I don't recall if she was a technician or a doctor. I was not a patient at that time; I had never even been to the office except for the free seminar. However, this woman was patient, kind and helpful. She asked me questions about my mammography films which I was able to answer because I had gotten a copy of them. She then told me that based on what I was describing to her, she didn't believe I had any reason to be concerned BUT she could schedule an appointment for me within 48 hours if it would make me feel better. I was calmer after our conversation and decided to wait a couple of months before having another exam done.

From the mammogram, to the radiologist sitting with me to explain the results, to Dr. Elliott's exam and ultrasound, all was just perfect. I feel very comfortable in the center. In fact, we are planning on moving to south Jersey and I have already told my husband, that Dr. Elliott is one doctor that I can not replace. So we will be coming up the 60+ miles for my exams.

My routine mammogram and ultrasound with Dr. Elliott. Dr. Elliott and the staff are just the most comforting there is. I have gone through breast cancer surgery with Dr. Elliott and can't say enough about how kind and compassionate she is.
