I needed immediate care for my dog who had what appeared to be a seizure. Even though my dog seemed fine after a few moments, the CareFirst Vet urged me to bring her in right away. I love the staff at CareFirst. They are ALWAYS wonderful! Check-in and the exam went well. I was given a lot of information and the doctor answered all of my questions. Since my dog didn't show any symptoms by the time we got to CareFirst, the vet recommended blood-work. Everything went well.

The next day I received a phone call from CareFirst to check on my dog. That's what I call service. They are the best!

I enjoyed meeting with the person who was to take care of my pets. she was a technician at the hospital so i felt comfortable that she was involved with animals on a daily basis and she had a nice personality. she watched my cats for five days and sent pictures to my phone of my cats three times and let me know how they were doing. I didn't realize that when they said it would be $23.00 per visit that coming twice a day would cost me $46.00 plus mileage fee which for me was around 5 miles and it cost me total $25.00 and a one time fee of a meet and greet to initially meet with the care giver of $10.00. So when i received the bill i was a little surprise. Being that I had just relocating here back in August and didn't know anyone I have to say I felt very comfortable with the person I met with which made all the difference when you are new to an area and first time having a stranger watch your cats. Overall that meant more to me in having peace of mind over money.

This place is competent, friendly and caring. My primary issue is their pricing and costly suggested approaches to triage a problem. I took my previous dog there for 14 years and spent thousands (!!!) of dollars there because she had a lot of health issues. When I got my current dog - I took her to this office initially, but because I felt like I was paying more than I should, I shopped around and decided to use a different vet (a mobile vet) for my current dog.
My dog hasn't been acting like herself for the past couple of days, and my vet is on vacation, so I decided to call on this vet again. As I said, they are competent, friendly and caring....but I just feel like they are out of line on their pricing and even though all her vital signs are good and her blood work came back normal, their suggested actions seem very expensive and really don't sound very promising in terms of identifying the issue..

Dr. Ford is excellent, caring and compassionate and competent. I also really like the staff, they learn both your name and your dogs name. The staff is also very caring with the animals.

It is obvious that the employees there genuinely love animals. My experience with the vets covered the spectrum. Two vets examed my pet. While both were competent, one was far better at explaining things and taking time with both me and my pet to explain in detail what was going on. The other seemed extremely rushed and was not thorough in his answers or in describing the situation. I usually had to call the hospital to get a response rather than them calling me. When checking out, the staff seemed more eager to leave for the day rather than take time with me. They also crated up my cat so I did not see until I got home that they had not cleaned him up before sending him home. The concern and knowledge was excellent, but the service and thoroughness left quite a bit to be desired. The costs also were outrageous, but seem to be in line with other vets in the area.

Our cat got into a fight with another cat and got the other cats claw stuck in its paw. The vet fixed the paw and did an extremely good job. We are very pleased with their service. They also do our regular checks for our cat.

They are really respectful of everyone. They are very good with the animals and you can tell that they really care. I also like that they are community oriented. The PTA set up job-shadowing and they were happy to take part and have some kids shadow them.

Both my dogs go here, they are great. Last time I went to get Flea/tick and heartowrm medicine. They sell them individually, which is good for me, b/c my dogs are two different weights, one is still a puppy, and doesn't need 6 mos. worth. In general....Doctors are great (also practice at Oberlin Animal Hospital). Open 7:30-5:30 M-F, convenient times. Great location. Have drop off program, so you can drop your pet off, go to work and pick them up later. Prices are decent also.
