In my experience with them they don’t just replace something just for replacing it. They try alternative approaches before they try the more expensive approach. I will use them in the future.
Description of Work
I have used Swedish Auto Works. Six weeks ago my engine light was coming on and I was having some problem with its transmission and they fixed it. I spent around $100.

I was impressed with how thoroughly Swedish Auto checked out my car, how they loaned me a car for two weeks, and how little they charged me. I told the owner I was going to give him an excellent write-up in Angie's List, and he begged me not to. He says he gets all the work he can handle by referrals from happy customers.
Description of Work
My 1997 Volvo had an electrical problem that caused the warning lights to come on frequently, including the transmission lights. I had taken the car to three other auto shops, including the dealer, and all were insisting that I needed a new transmission which they were estimating would cost $1,200 to over $2,000. Then the car hit a hole in the road and was badly jarred, but everything worked perfectly for about two weeks. I then took the car to Swedish Auto Works and was told that the problem couldn't be the transmission. It had to be caused by an electrical problem. They held the car for two weeks and kept checking it out, and in the meantime loaned me an old Volvo which worked perfectly. At the end of that time, the owner said he had eliminated more than a dozen problems but could not find the specific problem. He had worked on Volvos for more than forty years but had never encountered a problem like this. One solution was to rip out all of the electrical system and rebuild the car. It would cost nearly $3,000. The other one, the one he recommended, was to keep driving the car until it failed completely, and he might then be able to identify the problem.

They are really good. They were recommended to me by my friend. I was so pleased with their pricing and I was pleased with my car’s performance. I was so glad that the mechanic did an excellent job. When I take my car in there, I do not worry about them trying to overcharge me or tell me something wrong. They just tell me exactly what the problem was and tell me how much it would cost. I would use their service in the future too.
