Tim Smith broke several appointments without notice. He was unapologetic acting perturbed at me that he was busy. His communication skills were nonexistent. He simply refused to call, text or communicate when to expect them to honor set appointments. Once on-site there was a lot of unprofessional conduct by Tim Smith and his crew but by far Mr. Smith himself was least professional with inappropriate talk and horseplay with his crew and holding up the work of another paid contractor working here at the time. After leaving, I had to cleanup a lot of sharp metal scrap and screws left at the base of each downspout and throughout my gravel driveway. The next day it rained. The new back gutter overflowed from the opposite end of the downspout. To their credit they returned quickly to fix the improperly angled gutter. However, within a couple weeks we had two extremely heavy rains that made the replaced front gutter overflow from most of the 22 foot length, again opposite the downspout end. I contacted Tim again via text, which he initially ignored. When pushed his response was to tell me the gutter was fine and question why I didn't tell him when he returned to fix the back gutter they'd improperly installed. I explained that the front gutter didn't overflow until the heaviest rain later. Getting nowhere fast, I called and spoke to Rusty Smith. Upon identifying myself he began to rant at me that he could not keep sending his crew out for a $400.00 job. I explained that my only role in the gutter installation was to write him a check. He said "I'll send someone and if nothing wrong is found, I'll you charge you a service charge". In frustration, I explained that I was going to put a ladder up to check it myself with a garden hose. In doing such, I found that there was a considerable sag in the middle of the gutter, not draining for about 2/3 of the gutter length in the middle. Today, June 23, a contractor here to quote other work said he could see the sag, when I was telling him the saga with Rusty Smith & Son. About 4:45 today, June 23, Tim Smith and crew arrived. They proceeded to check the gutter, taking most or all of the hangers loose and repositioning the gutter. They packed up and left without so mush as coming to the door or telling me the resolution, even though they saw me through the window watching. I have no idea if the gutter is correct or what they did, much less any apology for having to return twice to fix their poor quality installation. No attempt was made to communicate with me. I absolutely urge anyone considering dealing with Rusty Smith & Son, Inc to move along to someone else. After being treated rudely by the owner and unprofessional behavior of the son, I'm of the opinion that " the apple doesn't fall far from the tree". IMO, consumer beware.

This is one of those cases where I should have checked Angies List first but instead listened to a neighbor who I trusted. Rusty & Son came out and installed a new bay window in my house to replace a window that was rotting around the frame. The window was fine at first but after 3 months started to sag and all the caulking and aluminum trim started to come apart. So, every time it rained water was leaking into my house. Apparently, the ground the bay window was resting on required some stabilization which I had fixed. I called Rusty Smith to ask him to come take a look at the Window they had originally put in to get an estimate on repairing the trim and caulking. Apparently it was not a good week for him and he asked me to call back the next week. I called back on 9/10 and he told me that he would try to come out that week but would definetily call me by Saturday. He never came out and never called. I called him again on 9/24 and he told me the same thing again but never came out and never called. Finally, Rusty came out and told me that basically he could make more money installing new windows than fixing the old ones he had installed. All, I have to say is that thankfully he will not be replacing any more of 25 other old windows nor the other bay window that also needs replacing. I was an existing customer of Rusty's and gave him plenty of opportunities over the month of September to come out and repair his work but he couldn't be bothered because it was not very lucrative. Instead I contacted Sam Moore from Carolina Home Enhancements sent him some pictures over the phone and he called back immediately with an estimate and a date he could repair the window. when I replace my other windows which will be soon I'm definetily giving my business to Sam Moore from Carolina Home Enhancements.
