It is always very good that is why I have been going there for several years. I am always happy with the prices and the work is always good. When I call I can always get in within a day or two. It is always very good

This was the slowest and most expensive tuneup ever in my life, and I've owned a dozen vehicles. Made the appointment a week in advance, and would drop it off early Wednesday and pick up late Thursday. They had not gotten to it even though it's only a couple hours of work and they had it two full days. Said they needed it until Friday noon. On Friday noon (after having to reschedule my work to accommodate!) it still was not done and had to come back a couple hours later. The price they charge for parts is more than double what you would pay retail at the parts store next door.

I started by calling and describing the situation. They listened politely, didn't overtalk me and answered all my questions. They could get me in and look at the problem the same week during extended business hours that made it easy to get my issue cared for quickly. When I took it in they explained the issue, got the Iight turned off, gave me instructions so I could do it myself in the future and didn't charge me! I will definitely go back for the 35k mile tune-up.

I have used them over the years and am very pleased with them. What has always impressed me is that they are always straightforward. Whatever they have said I could take to the bank. I have not price-shopped so I don't know if they are overcharging me or not. I have always trusted them. They are unbelievably good.

As always, they were polite, helpful, and honest!  They didn't even charge me for the removal (even though I would have glady paid a fair price for the service)!  They saw me was a walk in during prime business hours (4:50 PM) and were extremely prompt with service.  I have used them in the past for brakes, tire rotation, etc.  I will definately be back for future service needs!!!  They are always so helpful and honest.  I will be telling everyone I know about my experience.  THANK YOU!!!  A+!!!

The Toyota is my wife's van.  She complained to me about the breaks on Tuesday.  So after a quick look on Angie's list I found Southcross Auto Service.  They have an A rating and are within walking distance from my home.  I brought the van to the shop without an appointment and they told me they could look at it in a hour or so.  I walked home and got a call about 90 minutes latter with an estimate for $525 for new rotors and pads and a break fluid flush.  This estimate seemed high. I asked  Steve the owner who was working with me about the cost.  Steve informed me that I could lower the cost by using less expensive rotors.  Since Southcross is located in the same building as an auto parts store I assumed that they got their parts there.  I went into the auto parts store and asked to look at rotors for the Van.  The counter man at the store was very helpful and brought out their low cost rotor and their premium rotors.  He explained to me the differences in  metallurgy how the venting works and other issues that make the premium rotor better.  The price difference at this auto parts store was large $29.99 for the standard rotor and $90.99 for the premium product.  After being educated I had decided to use the premium rotors.  So I went next store to Southcross automotive talked with Steve. Steve informed me that while he does get some of his parts next store he does not purchase any break products from them.  Steve told me that his shop used Raybestos Pads and rotors.  Steve then went on to tell me that the Raybestos parts he uses carry a warranty that will not just replace the part but will pay for shop time remove and install new parts if there is a problem with them.  The price he quoted for the rotors he wanted to instal was $136.49 each.  When I told him the price of the premium rotors in stock next store he politely refused to instal them.  At this point I just gave in and told him to fix the van with Raybestos parts.  Then I walked home and looked up Raybestos and found them and a supplier who sells them.  This online supplier was selling Raybestos Advanced Technology rotors for $53.44 each and professional grade ceramic pads for $40.50 for the set.
Latter in the day Southcross Auto Service calls me to tell me the job is done. So I walk back to the shop and pay the bill while  talking  to another employee at the counter ( not Steve) I ask him what brand of rotors and pads they used on the van.  He goes into the shop and comes out and tells me they used Bendix Rotors and pads.  This is why they are only getting a C grade from me. I'm not in the auto repair business and I don't know what it takes to run a profitable shop. But a mark up of well over 100% on parts seems excessive to me. I have no issue with an auto repair shop marking money on parts.  There is a cost in sourcing them and having them delivered.  My problem is that I chose to do business with a small indendapent shop with a very high rating from Angie's list because I believed (wrongly) that a locally owned shop would be less motivated to squeeze me for every nickle.  Do I believe that Southcross Auto service did a competent job repairing the breaks on my van.  I most certainly do.  Do I believe that they used good quality parts on this job.  Yes I do.  The issue I have is that there are any number of shops in the area that can do this.  At this price point I could have taken the Van to the Dealer.  At least I know they are going to use the factory parts.  It the song and dance about Southcross using Raybostos parts and then instaling Bendix that makes me wonder what else they will say to protect their profit margin instead of just being honest about why they use what they use.

I have taken my car there twice. They are a small business. They treat you like a person. They do a very good job. They are very knowledgeable. They did not charge me to replace my brake light. They repaired my brakes for about $100.00 less than the dealership wanted. They did a good job. The quality of work was excellent.

This auto repair shop was recommended by my neighbor a number of years ago.
All my experience with them has been very professional.
I have never had to take back the car for a rework.
They completed the work on time and always at the quoted price.
I have never been pressured to have any repairs they suggested.
Overall my experience with Southcross auto service has been great.
Overall very trustworthy.

I wouldn’t recommend them.   I think they are overpriced.  I brought one car in there and they charged me $56 to wrap a piece of tape around a wire.  They are not personable.  The two clowns behind the counter, the ones that own it, should not be in this business.  They are not customer oriented individuals.  It seems it is all about the money, the business, or excuses.  I had also taken a car in for an oil change at 7 and they asked me to bring it back in the afternoon when they had more employees there.  I went there because I can drop a car off and walk home.  I will never step foot in there again.
