My child was moved from the 3 year old room to the 4 year old/pre-k room in March to allow for more space in the 3 year old room for toddlers to be moved up. The teachers in the 3 year old room were always very good about informing me of my child?s day, both good and bad. However, he "teachers" in the new room (the pre-k room) did not effectively communicate how my child was doing on a day to day basis as they were generally gone by the time I arrived to pick up my child which was generally at approximately 4:45-5pm. On two occasions when picking up my child the face had cuts and scrapes and only once was an incident report available, we had to track down the assistant director for an explanation of what had happened, a month later there will still scars on his face. I was not notified of when my child started acting out either until it has escalated to a point of him being put on a behavior plan. I tried to work with the classroom teachers on proven tactics for coaching him, de-escalating, etc. and they simply indicated they did not have time to do any of the suggested methods. The center director was very rude and flippant, did not want to help with the situation at all, and even lied about interactions with actual school district staff who tried to assist on behalf of my child, who goes to the school districts pre-school twice weekly for speech. I escalated the issue to the corporate office, who did talk to me and heard my concerns, however in the following days there was no noticeable change in behaviors towards my child or myself. Ultimately we chose to go with another day care provider.
