I had a VERY slow running tub/shower drain. I tried using an enzymatic drain cleaner and plunging, with no positive results. I called SOS and made an appointment, mentioning that I found them on Angie's List. The date/time of the appointment fit my schedule. On the day of the service, I got a call from Randy prior to the time that he was on his way. He arrived slightly late, which he acknowledged and apologized for and explained that there were traffic delays. I explained the drain situation and he went to work. He was able to clean out the blockage and explained that what he found in the drain causing the blockage. Further, he checked out the pipes for the drain and determined that there was a minor leak at one of the joints. He clearly explained the problem and showed me where it was and what he suspected was the issue. Although SOS does not do plumbing repairs, he was VERY helpful in diagnosing the problem and suggesting the fix. The entire length of the visit was approx. 1/2 hour, the drain was cleared (and has stayed clear) and he cleaned up after his work. Randy was professional in his work and his manner and work encourages me to think of SOS, if I have future drain or sewer issues.

Brad arrived and offered to remove his shoes, took a quick look and went out to get his equipment. He had the clog fixed quickly. He had covered the floor in plastic and cleaned up before leaving. Would hire him again. He did give us a 10% Angie's List discount. DK

Called at 6:45 AM they were out by 10:00 (non emergency no extra charge), polite, quick informative, and 1/2 the price of Roto Rooter! Good advice to keep the line clean and left me a sticker with phone number. You can bet next year we will be calling. It was great! Randy, our service man was great and we will also request him. no me

Two basement drains were cleared of clogs and the main drain to street was cleared of build up. Clean, neat, professional, and on time

Water started backing up into our basement. We called another company first, and not only were they unable to fix the clog, the guy got his blade stuck in the pipe and abandoned it there. So on the recommendation of a friend, we called SOS. Marty worked for a couple of hours on the pipe and was able to clear the roots out and get the other guy's equipment out of our pipe. He was super nice and cleaned up the black sludgy roots that came out of the pipe. Also, we have small children that spend a lot of time crawling and playing on the floor so I really appreciated that he came in through the back door to the basement and didn't wear his boots through the house.

The first SOS fellow arrived within the appointment period, and tried for two hours to unblock my sewer line using a power snake and blade. He pulled up a pile of tree roots over a foot high, but the line was still blocked. Eventually the snake blade broke, and the technician didn't think further efforts to unplug the block would be successful. He cleaned everything up very nicely before leaving. He offered an additional option to view the sewer with a video snake, but that would require a service call by different guy since he didn't have one in his truck. Because of the potential expense of a sewer pipe replacement, I decided to have the video insepction done,even though there was some standing water in the line that might obscure the picture. The second guy came a few hours later after finishing some other calls. The video didn't show much because of the water, but at least the location of the blockage was marked using sonar.The second technician was very informative and after some coaxing, provided the name of an established sewer service that works in the city. He recognized the name of a company I found on Angies List, but he was not enthusiastic about endorsing it. I got bids from two or three sewer companies and hired the one he told me about, Cichy's Sewer Service. They were terrific. I now understand that my lateral sewer line needs regular maintenance to keep the roots out, so I'll be hiring SOS next year to do some preventative cleaning of the newly repaired line.

We noticed water backing up out of the floor drain in the basement on Sunday after washing clothes and showering. The water was draining but too slow to handle large amounts of water (washing, toilets, etc). We cleaned up the mess and tried the usual drain cleaners later in the day to no avail and decided to call someone first thing Monday morning. Randy from SOS came out took a look and confirmed that it was a mainline blockage in about 5 minutes. He located the access cover with me and brought in the Sparten. The blockage was about 15-20 outside the house and was cleared in minutes then he ran it the rest of the way to the main sewer line. The whole experience was less than 45 minutes, he was neat, clean, and very professional. The price was excellent and I am extremely pleased that I used Angie's List to find them and went with the recommendations. These guys are at the top of the list for a good reason and I highly recommend them.

I called SOS and they were at my house within an hour, as a tech happened to be in the area. They came and cleaned out our drain and from phone call to job completion it was about an hour. Fantastic service, very professional. A+++.

When I contacted S.O.S., they could have come out that day, but I was at work and needed to make arrangements with someone to be at the house. Made an appointment for later in the week for the morning. There was a mix up with the time and the person who was to be there in the morning did not arrive. Bradly was sent over instead. He was very nice, professional, and very helpful. It took longer then Bradley expected because he ended up having to take the toilet of. I will recommend S.O.S. to any family or friends that need a sewer cleaned or a plumber, along with I will use them when I have other plumbing projects.

I called S.O.S. to come and clean out the main sewer line in my parent's home because water had begun to back up through the basement floor drain. I was able to schedule a service call for the next day and Randy from S.O.S. gave me a courtesy call about half an hour before he arrived, which was right on time. It wasn't very long after he started to clean out the main sewer line (that runs from the house to the street) that Randy ran into problems. Try as he might, he simply couldn't get the cleaning blade to go more than 65' from the house. Eventually he brought the cleaning blade back, only to find out that it had encountered sand, which was indicative of a broken sewer main. Realizing that he was dealing with something more than just a normal sewer cleaning project, he fed the snake down the sewer again with a smaller cleaning blade, which was able to make more progress and open up the main sewer line enough to keep things from backing up through the basement floor drain. Randy took the time to explain to me what was most likely happening with the main sewer drain was a broken or collapsed line between the house and the street. He explained that we'd want to have someone else from S.O.S come out with a camera and do a visual inspection to see if the exact location of the damage could be determined. He didn't have a camera on his truck, but promised me that he'd call Jeff and would have one of the other technicians come out as soon as possible. Since Randy was already there, I asked him to take care of one other slow running drain and also clean out the main line that ran under the basement. He did both of those lines (one of which presented a little bit of a challenge) quickly and thoroughly. Before he left, Randy cleaned up the work area to my complete satisfaction and gave me a couple tips on how to keep the sewer system flowing as freely as possible until we could have it repaired by another company. He took as much time as necessary to answer all of my questions and was a real "breath of fresh air" compared to some other plumbers that I've dealt with in the past. As promised, Randy put a call into Jeff, who promptly called me back and arranged for another S.O.S. technician (Brad) to come out with a video camera later that afternoon. Brad arrived right when he promised that he'd be there and did a thorough video inspection of the line. Unfortunately, he ran into backed up water along the way (another sign of major problems with the main sewer line!) so we couldn't get a good visual indication of what kind of break we were dealing with...and exactly where it might be. By the time the day was over, I knew that we had to move on to the next (expensive!) step, which involved digging up the front yard. Since that kind of work isn't something that S.O.S. does, Brad called a guy he knows who does that kind of work to see if he would dig in Maplewood. When he said that he didn't work in Maplewood, Brad gave me some very helpful tips on how to go about choosing a contractor who would do a good job for us. Even though I realized that we were dealing with a much more serious (and more expensive!) problem than I'd thought it would be when I first called S.O.S., I was extremely pleased with the overall experience. It wasn't their fault that we had a broken line, so there's no way that I was going to get upset at them for giving me what could be called "bad news." (Don't shoot the messenger, right?) At every step along the way, everyone at S.O.S. was extremely helpful, very courteous and, most importantly, honest. All of the charges were reasonable and explained so that I could understand exactly what I was paying for. Would I use S.O.S. again in he future? YES...YES...YES!!

I was given a 2-hour arrival span (9-11). Adam called about 45 minutes before he arrived from a previous job and gave me his exact arrival time (10 am). He was courteous and knowledgable and was finished in about 20 minutes. He answered all my questions.

Excellent service. Prompt response. Randy took a lot of time explaining to me what I could do to prevent clogs in future. Honest, because I asked him to do main drain and he told me it did not need to be done. Will definitely call in future.

It went fine. Cory even returned afterward when I noticed gunk coming up in basement drain after the cleaning. He cleared it and cleaned up the mess as well.

This is like the third time I have used this company and I am very satisfied overall with their performance. I was able to get same day service and the tech was very friendly and cleaned up afterward. These guys are great and will always be my first call for drain cleaning.

Had a water softener installed and when they drained the water out, found out my main floor drain was clogged. Tried to snake it out to no avail. Called SOS; they were able to come out the SAME DAY I called! They also honored the 10% Angie's List discount which put them $15 cheaper than other places I called. Serviceman came out and cleared the drain in less than 20 minutes. Highly recommended.

They were very prompt; came the same day I called. Randy was very professional, courteous, and efficient. He was careful of the cabinetry and cleaned up well after the work was done. I would definitely use this service again if necessary.

We had water backing up in our laundry room. Marty was very professional. This was the first time we used S.O.S. He ran a little later than he first estimated in getting here, but kept us informed. We understood because it was a Saturday. I know that in this business you can't always predict exactly how long each job is going to take. We were pleased with the work. We would definitely recommend SOS to others.

Technician was professional on the phone and punctual. He also called when he was on his way. He cleared out clog using 50 ft snake and mentioned that he didn't hit "paydirt" until maybe 30 ft in so there would have been little hope to try with manual snake. The only thing I really didn't like is that he asked me if I had some newspaper to put down before opening up the trap and wasn't very attentive to the clean up. He tried to wipe up the nasty black mess using just a wet paper towel and call it a day. I went back over and made sure area was actually clean and sanitized (but maybe we are just clean freaks). Would be nice to bring their own dropcloths, etc for the job and actually ensure area under the sink is as clean as it was before the work was performed.

We have used them in the past and they always do a good job.

Our main sewer line was clogged and we had water the basement. Randy from SOS cam out and was able to fix our clog and we are back running. He was on-time and very professional!! SOS was 1/3 less the price of Roto Rooter, and they guaranteed their work for 30 days (unlike Roto Rooter). SOS was very helpful and even gave us some hints to on how to prevent this in the future. I will never use another company! We love Randy!!!

The estimate that they gave me over the phone was the same as what they gave me when they came. I liked that they stuck to their price. I also liked that they gave me a deal for cleaning the second line for half the price.

I called at 3:00pm on a Saturday and they were at my place 30 minutes later. There was a $35 charge for weekend work, but it was partially offset by the Angie discount of $10.50. The normal full price for the service would be $105.Randy was here for about 30 minutes and fixed the issue quickly. When he was finished, he provided an explanation for what happened and how to prevent it in the future.He was both friendly and professional. I would use the service again.

Called for appointment and they were ready to schedule me that day. I did not need rush service so I chose his next offer in the middle of the next week. They gave me a time of between 3 and 5 and would call when they were on the way. They called me at 2:30 and said they would be there at 3:00. I was not home, but my husband was. I arrived home at around 4:20 and Randy was still there just finishing up. That is how bad my lines were. He was very clean in his work. He brought his own newspapers which I appreciated because I didn't have any to collect the roots on. He told me exactly what he did, how he did it and we discussed how often I should be cleaning each portion of what he did this day. I got the Angie's list discount plus the second line was 50% off. I think I got a great deal for the amount of time he spent cleaning my lines out. I have a company sticker with a date on it so I can easily know when to schedule next year and it also has information on it for Randy or the next person who comes to the job as to where the bad spots are in the line. It was a great experience.
