I brought in several video camera tapes to be transferred to dvd. When I was notified that the work was finished I returned to pick up 2 completed disks. When I reviewed them at home, one played and the other did not. The owner, Dennis, suggested the problem could be my dvd player. Since I have a newer dvd player, this seemed unlikely to me and I started to worry about the work being only partially completed - I was hoping for some attempt at problem solving. He said he would try another type of disk and see what might happen. I was very relieved when I was able to successfully play the second disk. At my first visit I mentioned that I had included some written instructions on one of the tapes requesting deletion of several minutes of blank footage that had been accidentally recorded, but when I reviewed the completed disks the blank footage still appeared. When I asked about this he said it was not customary to follow any instructions unless I was there to review the tape with him. I would have been very agreeable to this plan and I was unhappy that this information was not included during our first meeting. He offered to make this deletion if I paid an additional $50 and reviewed this section with him. I discussed my frustration with Dennis about the way this was handled. I reluctantly agreed to this poor business practice since it seemed to be my only option to have this project completed. Although I had not been in a rush for completion, the length of time involved for this work seems way too long (Nov-March). After completing a review of both disks at home I noted a minor problem. In places where two tapes were edited together, the picture plays in slow motion. Since this is my first experience with a video transfer service, I don't know if this is normal, but I have some doubts. I was frustrated with the number of repeated visits, limited hours, and lack of returned phone calls. I am also questioning the quality of work and method of operation. I would not return to Video Movie Transfer for any reason.

OVERALL IMPRESSION IS SO-SO. He didn't review his work. There were some sound blank spots. Maybe he could have fixed them, maybe not. Without reviewing his work he lacks quality control.
