After receiving several estimates and having discussion with several sales representatives, it was apparent that Standard Heating and A/C had the expertise and customer service orientation that I required. The sales representative, Ben Applebaum, who worked with me throughout the entire installation process, was extremely knowledgeable of the product, methods of installation, etc. He readily identified and explained how seeming structural challenges of my home would be addressed. The boiler replacement, including abatement, was a very efficient process. The installer kept me informed as to the steps and everything moved forward according to the original plan. Ben Applebaum was intermittently on-site to answer any questions and ensure that all was going well. The installers arrived on time, were very efficient and respectful of my property. Of note, the boiler installers (Jeff, et al) would be the same crew who would return to do the A/C installation. This was appreciated, as I felt comfortable with the crew and confident that they had a big picture perspective on the job. They were punctual, worked diligently, and were respectful of my home and belongings. They thoroughly explained the new boiler, which is working very well. The A/C installation was scheduled for a few weeks later. This required installation of ducts throughout the basement, leading to the main floor and extending to the 2nd floor. The installers were again very efficient and considerate. They carefully consulted with me regarding vent placement and found ready solutions where structural challenges occurred. Though seemingly minor, yet very important to me, they took the time to expertly carve very old and dry closet shelving to accommodate the duct work, thus allowing me to retain the closet. The entire installation was completed on schedule. Ben Applebaum promptly answered both phone and e-mail communications, answering all questions. The electrical crew was also very reliable. This was a very positive experience throughout. Where some companies did not seem to be willing or have the knowledge base to meet the needs of my home, Standard Heating and A/C provided expert and highly professional service. Again, I am particularly impressed by the workmanship and customer service. The price was competitive. The subsequent city inspection was flawless. I would recommend Standard Heating and A/C without hesitation.

They were very professional, and did a good job. I was given a list of things that could be done in the future to help the furnace run better, but they didn't push any services. Good experience overall, would use again.

They showed up when they said they would, which was the same morning I called. My problem was assessed within a couple minutes. It happened that the problem I had was one that falls outside the scope of their service. The tech gave me the name and phone number of a local company that deals with the problem I had. He was in my house no more than 5 or 6 minutes and there was no charge for the visit.

I was a little disappointed to have to wait for over a month for the servivce, but this was only a pre-winter tune-up so not a necessity. The repair guy arrived promptly within the time slot they had offered and performed the work efficiently and professionaly. There was a mix-up on the cost when the service was over. He was going to charge me another $69 for service I had already paid for over a month ago. This required some conversations by the service person to the home office so all is well.According the the service person I got $148 worth of service for $98. I would certainly recommend Standard Heating as a contractor again; however their central office is over an hour away from my location. Were it not for the discount I would have gone local.

In Addition to the $99 inspection and maintenance charge, provider charged $179 for a $25 igniter which took him 5 minutes to install. I only wish I had known how cheap the part is and how easy it is to install before I had to make the decision. My fault, I guess. I would still do business with them myself because I have been alerted now and they do do good work. However, I would not recommend them to homeowners who are predisposed to place complete trust. Apart from that, all work was satisfactory. UPDATE: Upon reflection, it seems to me that charging $154 (the total charge less the cost of the part) for five munutes work is patently exorbitant but, in my case, what's done is done. In the future, and with all service companies, I will ask questions before I authorize extra work: How much would the part cost me were I to buy it myself? How long will it take you to do the work? Is this something I can do myself? If the individual declines to provide the answers or is evasive, best decline to authorize the extra work and let Google be your friend. In my case here is an abject lesson: There is a good video on YouTube on how to replace the part that I paid all this money to have replaced for me. Companies need profits in order to feed the families of the owner and the employees and to grow but there is a difference between making a profit and gouging.

Standard Heating first installed our furnace and air conditioner a few years ago. This spring they did their annual check. They are always prompt, efficient, polite, and respectful of our home. They are honest and do not try to sell us anything or services we don't need. Would highly recommend them.

The technician arrived within the time window. He did all the tune up work & changed the filters for the furnace & the humidifier. He also talked about the yearly service plan which includes the AC tune up & a mid-winter checking of the furnace. The plan sounded good and we could include the charge of the tune up in the service plan fee which made it a good deal.

Furnace is fine but water heater shooting out unsafe amount of carbon monoxide. Joe turned it off.

During a summer hot spell, my old central air conditioner stopped working. Called Standard and a tech was out the same day. I thought that I would need a new unit; however the tech determined that it only needed a replacement part He fixed it on the spot! The tech was professional,fast and thourough. I will definitely use Standard for any furnace or air conditioner issue that comes up in the future.

I selected Standard because of my daughter's good experience with them. The sales appointment with Mike was thorough and answered all my questions and anticipated all potential problems that could be encountered. Because there was a question about the venting, a technician was sent out in advance to assess whether additional work (and cost) would be needed. On day of installation technicians were prompt, answered all my questions, and performed the work neatly. Clean up was the best I have ever had with any kind of contractor - other than the new furnace and AC unit, there was not a trace left behind! I would definitely recommend Standard Heating & Air.

It turned out fine. They showed up when they said they were going to show up. It was just as I expected.

Jason, the technician, was fantastic. He communicated everything during the whole process, from when he was on the way, to what needed to happen and how he was going to work on the kink, to how much it would cost, and to checking to make sure everything was running. He was done and cleaning up before the dispatcher had estimated he would show up. Very much appreciated!

They were fine and the tune up was fine. We wound up buying a furnace and air-conditioner from them in 2013. They were prompt and professional.

We liked them because they explained everything that they were doing and why they were doing it and the necessity of it. He explained why he was pulling this part off and checking for that and everything. He told us about warning signs. The furnace was dirty and messy and he checked everything including the water heater, which he didn't need to. It was such a long wait between when we purchased and when they actually got a hold of us but then he explained why. They explained everything that they were doing. Once they explained and once we got in contact, they were on time. Exactly when they said they would be here, they were here. He came in with everything, went down there and everything came out very quickly and very promptly. He explained everything that he was doing.

Seth was the technician sent to perform the services. He was respectful of entering the house with his shoes covered to protect the flooring from dirt. He was diligent to do a good job and informed me of future issues to keep in mind. Seth appeared trustworthy, and I would not hesitate to hire him for future work.

I would never use them again. My pilot light was on in my furnace and the same time I needed a furnace inspection so I called them because I didn't understand what the problem was with my furnace and he claimed to have replaced a part. It was like a $175 just for this little part fixed, it took about 5 minutes but the problem came back and it wasn't the part so it was just an unnecessary repair and then there was another charge for the furnace inspection, I can't remember what that was, it was like $250 or something. Altogether he was there for like 15 minutes and it was a $400 bill. I called them and they just kind of shrugged, what you can do for shrugging over the phone and it just showed me that they were just the problem and I don't have time to chase them down and try to work out something to made them clean this or that, it needed to be replaced anyway but to me obviously it wasn't a problem. They came out right away. He was polite but then the repair was unnecessary and I called to complain about it.

Greg was on time and very thorough. I explained that I suspected the old chimney liner was allowing water vapor into the chimney and causing moisture to stain an adjacent wall. He looked at walls and even up in the attic, put a scope into the liner, eventually spotted a light source indicative of a liner gap and drew up an estimate. Well done!

These guys were great! We were extremely please with everything Standard did in our home. The installation guys were respectful and thorough and all of our work was completed in about 6 hours. My only complaint, and its minor, was this; We funded this project through a goofy 203k loan on our mortgage. It was goofy. We told the sales guy this going into it and he stated it would be no problem. There were moments through out the long process of securing funds through our bank that the salesman became noticeably flustered to put it mildly. However, considering they honored a price and deal that was 2 months old by the time the work was done, it is forgivable. Also good to note, we are getting several rebates for getting high efficiency put in and they handled all of the paperwork related to that.

The salesmans was very thorough and had a lot of great ideas. Installaton was quick and the employees were very professional. They were on time, polite, and very neat.

Everything was excellent! Hottest week of the summer and my AC stopped working! Expected to have to wait several days due to demand. Because of heart/lung issues, they scheduled me the very next day. Jason was prompt, courteous and professional I've used Standard Heating and Air before and will continue to do so!

The tech arrived as scheduled. He found the problem quickly, but didn't have the part on hand and was very apologetic. He said normally he would have had the part. The next day he was back, in and out in no time and kept the entire cost within the original price estimated--no additional fee for a return trip.

It went very well. Standard Heating scheduled a technician to fit our busy and limited schedule. Seth was very detailed during his examination of the furnace. He took his time so not to overlook anything. He answered several questions I had about furnace operations and various brands. He ordered a condensation trap for me that other companies I used in the past were not able to supply to me. I will now use Standard Heating for all my Heating & AC needs.
