Is it Time for Maintenance on Your Clock?

Recent Clock Repair Reviews in Whitmore Lake

I preface reviews with the fact that I expect reasonably good service making that average. One has to get me angry to rate an F and practically walk on water to get an exceptional rating. I took our German cuckoo clock in as the chains came completely out. I was fourth in line and watched while the customers in front of me were served. I am seldom impressed in such instances but this was an astounding experience. These people are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They even described in detail something a customer could try, to keep his tubular chime grandfather clock from stopping, that may allow him to avoid a very expensive and tremendously time consuming rebuild. The prices charged for work customers picked up seemed reasonable to me. One customer was dropping off an interesting looking wall clock which reminded me of something from the seventies. It didn’t look valuable but the woman working the counter handled it like it was a work of art. They have a lot of work and I expected to have to leave the clock for a long time but the man that waited on me had the tools and experience to fix it in a few minutes.

Eric did a great job and it was a pleasure doing business with him. He is a charming gentlemen with clock repair skills learned in Europe - expert clock repair people are a dying breed. We love our grandfather clock since Eric repaired it. I hired Eric months ago to come to my house to diagnose the problem. His fee for the housecall was $75, much less than others with reviews less praiseworthy. A couple months ago i asked him to take the clock and do the repairs. He applied the $75 to the repair cost, took the clock, and returned it to my house on time. Eric is very organized. He put me on his calender for a call in 2021 to arrange routine maintenance on the clock.

Outstanding. This man knows his clocks. Been doing it for many years. You you want a reliable clock repair, I highly recommend him. Came to the house and the clock now works perfectly

Cliff was so helpful and professional. He came to the house, diagnosed the problem and took care of it for us.

He was so helpful and didn't act like he just wanted us in and out of there. He diagnosed the problem, adjusted one part and sold us a more efficient clock key. We were able to walk out with a working clock and it's been ticking away ever since. Would highly recommend.

Like I said, every time is a great experience. The employees are extremely intelligent in watch/clock repair and horology. They move pretty quickly too it seems. I asked for an estimate on one item and I was told it would take approx. two weeks to get back to me... it only took three days. When I had one previous clock repaired it took a long time; however, I feel this was because the parts were extremely rare and hard to come by. I was going to abstain from rating the "price" section because I've never compared prices; however, I do feel that I got my monies worth for all transactions.

I have a beautiful Chelsea ship's clock that belonged originally to my grandfather. Somehow it fell off of the table it was sitting on! When it fell the metal rim around the face was bent. The hands couldn't turn because of the bent rim and the door wouldn't close. It sat on a shelf for almost a year because I didn't know of a reputable clock repair shop. I was driving down Catalpa in Royal Oak one Saturday on errands and saw a green awning with the word "Clocks" printed on it in a small row of shops. I went in to check it out. The shop is full of beautiful clocks of all types, from Grandfather clocks down. I thought this would be the place to bring my Chelsea ship's clock. The gentleman, who was the owner of the shop, behind the counter sounded very familiar with this type of clock. I brought back my clock that afternoon. The owner examined the clock, wasn't sure he could bend the metal rim without breaking the metal. He would only work on the clock if he could do a complete overhall and wouldn't know exactly how much it would be and gave me an estimate of $300.00. I left the clock, thinking it was worth the cost because of the sentimental as well as monetary value of the clock. Within a week, Mr. Stewart called and said he was able to bend the rim so the hands could turn. He had repaired the clock but wanted to make sure it was keeping accurate time, so he wanted to keep it for a few more days. I picked up my clock a few days later and was thrilled. It looked like new! It's been keeping excellent time since then and the tone of the bell was adjusted to a much more pleasant tone! The price stayed at the estimate even though it sounded like Mr. Stewart

I have an art deco table clock from the '30's that simply stopped working. I took it to one place where the guy told me the motor needed to be replaced - minimum $150. That didn't sound right so I found C&W Originals, took it to Rich and he said "let's just see what I can do." He took it apart, cleaned it, got it working and tested it for a few days to ensure it was repaired. He even found cool new hands for it, better than the originals! He was professional, knowledgeable, and his price was exceedingly fair. I would not hesitiate to go to him again or recommend his services others.

Great (see report above). We will definitely utilize them for all of our clock repairs and have already given them another clock to fix.

I called and scheduled the appointment, they came when they said they would, and fixed the clock and were gone in less than one hour.
