Great! My wife and I couldn't be there during the move because of medical issues, and so my mother-in-law had to supervise for us. She's a tough woman to please, and she was incredibly happy. Furniture was placed where she asked, and boxes brought to appropriate care. Nothing was broken or damaged. The movers were polite, and treated my mother-in-law with respect. They went above and beyond, even unloading her minivan. Their office staff was genuine and knowledgable, and their estimates were very close to the actual amount charged. I had a lot of questions, and Kerry answered all of them. They also include replacement value insurance, as opposed to other vendors that only include the state minimum of $0.60 per pound. These guys do it right.

The team consisted of Will, Neil, Jamie, and Zack. Will was the leader and did a great job communicating with me. Two of my coworkers recommended White Star, and of course the Angie's List community is overall very positive, as it should be. I did contact a couple of less-expensive companies, but one wasn't licensed/registered with Michigan (White Star is) and based on the overall reviews and recommendations I decided to go with White Star. They did an awesome job; I don't think it would be possible for them to have done any better. How often can anyone say it could not have gone better? They worked very hard and very quickly. The team was actually jogging - not walking - back from the truck to my house to load the truck, and then at the destination house jogging back to the truck for another box. At the same time, they were careful with the walls, the furniture, the boxes: everything. They were respectful of me, my family (three kids running around), my houses, my property... everything. The guys carefully parked the moving trucks in the driveway and in front of my house. When they arrived at the old house (a 3 BR ranch), we took a tour of the main floor and the basement and the exterior. As questions arose, Will and the team asked them. They moved some items I would consider to be especially troublesome: a treadmill; a piano; a large, heavy TV console; and a good-sized play set/swing set. I had taken off the slide, ladder, rock-climbing wall, and the arm for the swings. The movers determined it would be best to remove the roof as well, which they did, and also reconnected at the new house. They also moved a chest freezer which had food in it, and they moved my BBQ grill, etc. They would have moved the lawnmower and yard equipment, but I needed to keep it there until I sold the old house. Before leaving the old house, Will and I took a quick tour again to make sure everything that was supposed to move was on the truck. They also helped by moving an old (heavy!) queen-sized sleeper sofa to the curb for me for the garbage. They were happy to move everything I had boxed up and they grabbed extra items. Some things weren't in boxes and the team leader, Will, advised me that while they could move them, anything not boxed was susceptible to damage in transit which made sense (e.g., a bag of tissue-wrapped Christmas ornaments stayed behind). First thing at the new house: another tour to get the layout and identify the bedrooms for the different furniture. Again, if anyone had questions, he asked where something should go. When we told them the wrong room for a dresser, no problem, they moved it down the hall. At the new house, they asked where everything should go and placed the boxes in the rooms written on them. They used protective padding where necessary just in case of bumps, and laid down floor protection. I don't know how they did it, but they moved the treadmill downstairs to the basement without scratching the walls; there were two turns to navigate as part of that, and the treadmill is quite heavy. Before leaving, Will and I did a final tour to make sure everything was in the right room; it was. They guys also made good suggestions with how to arrange furniture. They helped rotate and select the best location for the play set. This was tedious and time consuming as we took different factors into account which required moving it this way and that way until my wife was pleased with the location. The team members were professional, courteous, and extremely hard-working. I would not hesitate to use them again or hesitate to recommend them. They saved me countless hours and headaches. They were well worth the expense. My dad, a lifelong hard worker, came by in case we needed help with anything (we didn't) and he was also impressed with their hustle and work ethic. Will, Neil, Jamie, and Zack all did an excellent job. Hire them, you will not be sorry!!

Very professional, courteous and efficient. Took some furniture apart to move and then reassembled at the new apartment. Very impressive. Would use them again in a heartbeat!

Have used White Star in the past - the crew showed up on time, protected the floors and handled our possessions with care. Great attitudes and they work incredibly fast. Was a great experience again.

The move went excellent. My contact at Star Movers was Kaitlyn, and she was very efficent and kind. We had to change our date twice and she was very nice about it. The movers that came out were very professional and worked very hard. Star Movers also offered a senior discount, which really helped us. Their rate was very reasonable compared to other moving companies in the area.

Chris estimated and answered my many calls with questions politely and professionally. Our trip to visit the warehouse was encouraged and office staff was cordial and welcoming. We returned to the warehouse twice prior to the move for used boxes and were helped each time. The actual four movers...Brendon, Brandon, Joe and Joel were polite, professional, and laid down floor protection prior to moving the items. The estimated bill and number of crates was accurate...I was amazed. I highly recommend White Star Movers.

Nice guys, efficient and on time. But I still have two couches in shrink rap because they could not find a way to put them in the home. They disconnected screen door in the old home that they did not re connect.

Whitestar Movers is the model of an efficient company and working with them was a pleasure. From our initial e-mail request to phone calls to the actual move everything was flawless. More importantly everyone was so very pleasant. I wholeheartedly recommend them. Kudos.

They were awesome! Watching them work was impressive. Brandon, Will and Brian worked quickly and efficiently. They were always professional, but pleasant and friendly. Nothing was damaged -- not the furniture or either house. They performed miracles moving some very large and awkward pieces of furniture up and down steps and through tight corners - some of which we had thought might be impossible. I can't emphasize enough how impressed we were by their efficiency and skill. They were unfailingly polite and patient in placing items to our satisfaction in our new home. They worked so quickly that they shaved time off our original estimate, so we saved some money on the final bill. I also appreciated the White Star representative, Joanne, who responded to our inquiries promptly. She was pleasant and professional. She gave us all the information and estimates very clearly. We appreciated the fact that she was straightforward and did not give us any fast-talking sales pitches or pressure as some other companies tried to do. White Star Movers made our move much less stressful and easier than we expected it to be. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted a good moving experience.

They moved all of our furniture out of a cramped, two story loft, and down two flights of narrow starts. It was cold, and icy, and they were some of the most optimistic, friendly group as they were the first time we used WhiteStar in 3/2012. Hopefully we will not have to move again, but if so, it's good to know there is a reliable, professional company like WhiteStar out there!

The two movers, Will and Shawn, were excellent. They worked steadily and carefully, making sure no walls were damaged in the move and more importantly, that the furniture was not damaged. They were extremely polite, responsive and customer focused. The furniture was very heavy and extremely difficult to carry upstairs, yet they handled it with no damage whatsoever. They individually wrapped every item and insured the load was stable and secure, before moving and driving the 25 miles to the destination. The White Star company apparently handled the move for AAA Heritage, who comitted to a time window of noon-3PM, but were late to their own worst case window by 1.5 hrs. However, the movers, Will and Shawn, were both excellent. Would hire again if I could insure getting these movers.

Movers themselves were lovely. They answered any questions I had, and were flexible when I realized I had forgotten to point some things out. I did find it strange that one guy worked hard to move all the smaller things, while the other guy was left to disassemble the furniture by himself. This made the process take a lot longer than it should have. When we got to the new house, and it was taking a long time again for him to reassemble, I inquired why and the mover confessed to being on a job until 2am the night before so was exhausted. I'm sorry he had to go back to back, but was disappointed I had to get the short end of the stick as a result. I ended up being charged an extra hour. They also broke the leg off an inexpensive chest of drawers we had. They told me they would make a note on my bill and someone would contact me to have it righted. When I didn't hear from anyone after two weeks, I called and spoke to the person who handles claims. She was very short with me, even though I wasn't even calling to complain, just get some answers. She told me it actually wasn't the movers job to note the claim, she had never seen my paperwork, and I should have been the one to call. There is clearly a breakdown of communication there. I was told a furniture repair person would be sent out to my home to fix the piece. When I explained it would likely cost more to have the person come out than to just replace the piece, she told me it didn't work that way. Sure enough, the guy from Quality Furniture Repair came out, told me it sure does cost more for him to come than the piece is worth, AND he did a terrible job "fixing" it. At that point I didn't think the claims personnel was going to even entertain my protest, so I didn't bother calling again. Price was right, but think some of the business practices should be improved.

Overall the team was courteous, careful and competent. It took longer than expected and our quote of $875 was exceeded - that is my only issue. I also had several family members on hand to help - we were driving 2 SUVs and a station wagon back and forth to assist. I moved from a condo to a SFH, so I went up in Sq Footage, not down.

All of them worked efficiently and were very polite. We are very happy with the service.

I was the one I chose White Star Movers and the reason why I went with them, initially my finace and I were planning to move out to Colorado together and it just didn't work out like our goals were just too different. I had all the packing done, it was done for them by the time they got there. They did the inventory ,what was on the boxes and they did a nice job. I liked the way that they bubble-wrapped things and the way that they put things together. They did a nice job. They were very organized. The way that they organized things in the crate so that it wouldn't brake things. They did a nice job with that part of it and that I was very pleased with. They did a great job. The pricing were a little higher but they were going to do the right thing to make sure our stuff was properly packed because we were also trying to move across the country. They were reasonable enough with what they were going to do. Their storage cost was good. The movers were very nice and everything. They were very responsive. They were very punctual with the moving process. The workers were great but the owner shouldn't be in business with regard to helping the customers, the way he treated people and the way he said things.

In the interim, we had our stuff in White Star Movers storage because we sold our home so quickly in Royal Oak, long story short, our things were crates there and when I came out here to Colorado, things changed for my other half and I so we were no longer together so I had to come home. I was waiting for him to find a place and he was supposed to find a place at the beginning of Summer. I re-careered as a teacher so I needed to have my things by August because our school year is just really bust and I knew I needed my things so I could get settled. My other half was kind of procrastinating at that time to find a place so inevitably I had to go to the warehouse which they don't really like which I had to. I needed to separate out our things and the impression that I got that hey were going to have a set side designated so that when we got there things would be there. I think it was just communication errors from the person in the front to the persons in the back, they don't really have the room. I have never dealt with someone as unprofessional as the gentleman who owns the place. I moved into teaching and my other half at the time was upset at me so he was making me pay for having to go separate out things out. I had to pay them by the hour. We weren't allowed to go in the crate and I had two people slowly take things out of each of those boxes so it was a nerve racking, emotional experience. It was definitely not made easy. It was a very emotional day. You would just expect that a business owner would not add emotion or fuel to a fire. I said somethings that were very unprofessional as well. It's just that it was the day that when you are emotional you say things that you don't mean. It was the worst experience of my life. The guy that was pulling things out of the crates, he was awesome. He was making jokes and then he got to meet my dad at the end of the day and everything was cool. They really didn't need to be any emotion that day. If the owner of the business was professional instead of unprofessional, I just think that it would have been a completely different day. The cost of it wasn't that bad.

We had used them in the past and they were very good. They were prompt, thorough, very organized, moved very slowly, and they're friendly.

It went really well. Moving is not fun for sure, but they made it a lot easier on us. I had a lot of stuff for our basement and I didn't label my boxes well. I thought we would remember where boxes came from and they would get put in that corresponding room. So a lot of stuff ended up in the basement that really didn't belong there. But that was mostly my fault so I recommend you label your stuff well! They never complained once. Were very respectful, kind and professional. We had a piano too.

Two moves plus storage for 2 months. Great service and no problems

I was somewhat disappointed with the MI people, they nicked a few walls and left a handprint on one, the AZ guys were great. My problem is with the warehouse where items were taken, I have 5 damage claims to submit. I purchased the additional insurance and hope the claims process goes smothly.
