One of my two springs broke. Door could not be opened. My car was trapped inside . I was a little taken aback by the cost of the repair. no free estimates! a $75.00 service charge on top of the repair cost! that being said it was repaired quickly, correctly.

Very well. He was very knowledgeable.

They only told me about the $75 to come out. They didn't tell me $45 minimum labor fee. OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive for what they did. Told me a bunch of scary stuff about my door. I asked him about a new door. The quote only said how much to buy they door. Didn't include labor or any details about which door he was recommending. No way will I use this company again!

Not the least expensive but easily one of the best service call experiences. Garage door jammed up late last night. 8 AM this morning I inspected the root cause and decided it was worth calling in a professional. Door company that installed door and provided annual maintenance never called back, so I searched Angie's List and found these guys. On a Sunday morning I was expecting the worse. In 5 rings a real live person picked up. Schedule a service time for 11 AM same morning! After I gave my information and hung up, I got an email confirming the appointment was well as a professional bio of the person stopping by. 15 minutes before arrival tech called to confirm he was no his way. Arrived on-time, gave a quick assessment. I already had a dollar figure in mind. The first recommendation was a complete overall, easily double what I had mentally budgeted for. Tech was able to come up with a solution that was reasonable. Still about 50% more than I had in mind, BUT taking into consideration Sunday and emergency visit it seemed reasonable enough. When done, tech walked me through repairs, areas that he found deficient and fixed, and promptly cleaned up site. Even left a can of garage door spray. Once finished, door performed better than first installed. I doubt I'll be having issues like I had in the past. Pricey, but worth it.

The company is very professional, timely and courteous. I would definitely use them again and have no qualms about referring them to family and friends. Our original tech that came out in February was Johnathan H. and he was great. He explained everything that was wrong and what our options were. The invoice is itemized which is very helpful and it also includes a safety inspection check list along with three (3) estimates on what the recommendations are for the repair (good, better, best). We chose the good option for $1213 which included replacing all the rollers, drums, bearings, cables, rails, belts, garage opener, etc. for the door. The "better" option was $1318, followed by the "best" option at $1529. The current door we had was solid wood and original to the home (1986-87) and had started bowing which was creating a lot of stress on the system. We eventually replaced the door in May with an almond-colored, insulated,steel- paneled door for an adjusted $1003. (They took $372 off the installation price since we had just had them replace all the other parts earlier on.) They also included a wireless exterior keypad. I believe the insulated doors are generally a little more but they were making room for newer inventory. While I was not home for the install of the new door, my mother was and she said they (2-3 techs?) were very professional and worked quickly and cleanly. They hauled away the old door and the new one looks and works great.

All positive: Called and got an immediate appointment time They came out as promised (even earlier) Didn't try the upsell, fixed the door and did it within the timeframe Cost was well worth the effort Great to deal with and will call them back for any other issues. When it is time to replace - Precision will be the first call. Thank you!!!

They were on-time, quick, and professional. They gave a variety of door options and recommendations. I had them come out a second time when the connectors were malfunctioning and was happy with my service then, as well.

No contact attempt was received by the supplier. No service performed.

Very prompt in giving appointment & arriving (within 2 hours of calling). Great job overall. Took payment by credit card.

Jeff called when he was on his way and I was very reassured when I not only saw #1 Angie's List provider on his truck, but A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Jeff pointed out my very broken door spring and I am sorry I did not watch him work because in an hour he was done and made some recommendations for minor rust on the bottom of the door. Would not only use again, but absolutely recommend.

Both springs snapped when my husband attempted to open the garage door. I found Precision Door on Angie's List and the reviews were really good. Called for an appointment and was able to make it on the same day. The technician, Aaron, called to let me know when he was 15 minutes away and arrived right on time. He completed the work in a capable, professional manner. Aaron was pleasant and knowledgeable. Very pleased with the service and would use again and recommend to others.

I don't mind paying extra for prompt professional service, but when you mark up parts that much........?? Next time I'll do more diligence when researching for service providers. Again, they are very thorough, professional, and knowledgeable when it comes to garage doors. If you don't mind paying 5 x's more for the parts, then I would definitely recommend them.

They were courteous and timely. They came right out and took care of my garage door. It was an incredible, wonderful and fabulous service. It was expensive. They were really good with everything from calling them to the tech that came to do the work, and all of it. To be able to get someone like that on a Saturday, late afternoon was very much appreciated.

They arrived the next day, and were able to make all repairs in one visit. Our sensors were bad, but worse, one of our springs was snapped. Tech changed all springs, and cables, and rollers. Door works like a charm now. Very pleased by the professionalism, and speed which this problem was fixed.

They did everything they promised. We all like the job they did.

The technician who did the installation, however, was very professional and did a good job in very cold conditions.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it went fine. They came right out a few days after I purchased the deal and did it so they were quick to respond. My wife was here when they did the service and she said it was fine. I have noticed that the garage opens now. The door was off its tracks before they worked on it. It was convenient for us.

They were fine. They sent one guy out to do the job and he was here maybe 45 minutes to an 1 hour. The price was excellent for what they did. There were issues getting the Big Deal scheduled because they said they didn’t have any contact information for us. I would absolutely hire them again though.

They arrived on time for the appointment and I trusted the work they did. There were two technicians here doing the work. They did the work I had requested but they also tried to talk me into having other services done. He seemed very pushy on other services and I felt pressured to add on other work and I was not anticipating paying more.

First, I had called Ann Arbor Door to have my garage door opener fixed. I told them what was wrong, and they said they believed it was the gear mechanism, and estimated the cost would be about $125. However, they would not be available to come out for a few days. So, I called Precision Door instead. The person on the phone said someone could come out the same day. I told them the expected problem, and asked about how much they think it would cost. I was told, "Oh, we can't tell you that over the phone; they'll have to come out and see what's wrong." However, the fee to come out was $75, which would apply to the cost of the repair. I was a little upset that they refused to give me any kind of estimate when I told them the likely problem, but I decided to have them come out anyway. Sure enough, when the guy came out, he said it was the gear mechanism. But he wanted to charge some astronomical price for it. I don't remember the exact price, but I believe it was something between $250 to $300. Then, he proceeded to try to sell me a brand new opener for $565, saying it would be best to buy a new one anyway. I was furious. Had they told me on the phone that the gear mechanism would have cost so much, I would not have had them come out. I asked to not be charged the $75 service fee because of this terrible practice. Fortunately, the guy did not charge me the $75. I rated them a "C" for professionalism. They were an "A" in terms of courteousness, and the fact that they waived the $75 fee, but I detested their refusal to even try to give me any quote on the phone and thus try to force me to pay a $75 service fee, and the fact that they were trying to sell me a new unit when it wasn't necessary. As for the repair, I had it done by Ann Arbor door for $154; he said he replaced everything in the workings of the machine except the motherboard. For $154. And Precision Door was was trying to get me to pay $565 for a new unit!
